What I'm looking for: We're looking for one tank for progression raiding. Most of us in the group are 8/10 or 9/10 on Ravagers/ToS, so this is a side project of sorts for us. We understand that some people will need to gear their toons or learn the fights, but if you are competent player and are willing to take the time, we will happily take you in. Right now we are looking at a Tue/Thu raid time at 9:00-11:30 pm, however, that can be adjusted if the time or days do not work for you. Hi everyone. Finally have the time to start getting back into the game. Can I get the sparknotes version of what I missed while I was away. Last time I was playing it was when Nightmare scum and villany came out I think. (BTW if any raid groups on jedi covenant are looking for an operative healer *wink*).

So you're a madness assassin. As far as gear goes I can recommend to you how I geared my assassin. ( I however an a deception assassin, i do know how to gear a madness assassin though. I found deception way easier to manage the rotation.) The entire right side (head, chest, gloves, pants, and boots), i have the following item modifications, (Advanced Resolve armoring 31, Advanced Aptitude Mod 31, advanced initiative enhancement 31). Belt and bracers are advanced resolve armoring 31 and advanced aptitude mod 31. As for your main and off hand it should be a hawkeye crystal, advanced resolve hilt/armoring 31, advanced aptitude mod 31, and advanced adept enhancement 31. For your earpiece and implants you would use the Power/Surge ones. I believe the underworld is the force mystics for the earpiece and underworld stalker mk-x for the implants. For your relics you have a choice depending on your playstyle. You have to get the Serendipitous Assault relic as your primary relic. however your secondary is up to your playstyle. you can either use a click relic which is the boundless ages (this is BiS if you use it ~~ 3x in a boss fight or you can choose one of the dark radiance. Augments are your choice. Normally since you do not receive a bonus to your mainstat in your tree you would use overkill augments, but the difference between overkill and mainstat augments to your bonus dmg is minuscule. I would recommend the mainstat since they will give a slight boost to your crit which you want a littler higher than the normal 25% for madness. After all this is done you should be at ~1400 bonus dmg, ~109% accuracy, ~24% crit, and ~71% surge. When you get the kell dragon (75's) initiative enhancements your acc will be exactly 109.95 with the legacy buff. Which is as close to percet accuracy as you can get. I mentioned earlier that you would want a slightly higher crit since you're madness spec, so if you want you can replace a few aptitude mods with mettle mods in your gear. But do not add any more than ~125 crit rating!! If you have any other questions feel free to ask

Also I personally wouldn't see this as a viable PvE spec. You're viewing your parses in the short term when its the long term that matters. Your overall damage and DPS will parse a lot higher in full deception on a real boss fight compared to an ops dummy.

They are raid viable. People just have this discrimination in their head that they arent. There are several specs in this game that receive a large amount of their overall damage when operation bosses hit below 30% (i.e. lethality operatives and snipers, pyrotech powertechs, deception and madness assassins, as well as sorc assassins). DPS assassins are quite viable, you're just assuming they are bad based on what people are parsing. Top parses is a high 2700 and thats deception with no below 30% buff. Also Assassins have good utility in the event you need a quick taunt off steath rez etc. Don't let parsing tell you that you are not raid viable because it is simply not true.
