  1. Ugh Huttball is still the most common warzone? I wish you could blacklist a warzone or something. I mean, Huttball is fine in small doses but it's not exactly what I want to do all night haha
  2. Thanks for the reply, last time I played was around the "heal to full" debacle when sorcs were considered pretty weak. It looks like they have essentially removed any type of hybrid specs, which is a bummer, I used to love lightning/madness hybrid builds.
  3. I haven't played swtor seriously in quite a while, probably 6+ months. I loved my sith sorcerer both as healing and dps in pvp and was wondering what the general consensus is not only on sorcs specifically but also pvp as a whole. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated =) thank you!
  4. Not only will double shock use up Recklessness, any force attack can use a charge. I'm talking interrupt, stun, you name it. Long story short better make the first two abilities you use after activating it the ones you really want to crit. In pvp before I've popped reck then had to immediately stun and interrupt and lost two charges >.< it's incredibly annoying.
  5. I'm not saying that assassins aren't good. Nor am I saying assassins can't do top damage. The thing that people need to realize is that before 2.0 assassins had some of the most OP pvp specs in the history of the game. The old tank/madness hybrid w/ duplicity could easily 3v1 non-assassins if played properly and was a terror for people trying to guard nodes. Hell I remember on my assassin back in the day if the other team knew I was in a wz they had to commit 4 people to their node or it was gone. In addition to this madness was one of the best dps specs in pvp and pve and could put up tremendous numbers. What resulted was a LOT of people rolling assassins because, frankly, they were OP as f***. Compare that to what we have today. I firmly, firmly believe that a well played assassin has the capacity to top the dps charts(pvp). With my decep/madness hybrid I can out damage smash monkeys in voidstar, the only problem is that it is vastly more difficult now than pre 2.0. So what we have are a ton of people who had assassins because they were amazing (and fairly easy to play) in pvp but suddenly find themselves requiring a much higher skill cap to achieve similar results. In essence what I am saying is there are a lot of bad sins/shadows around giving the class an ill deserved perception (#perceptionproblem) and we can't even heal to full to further make things worse. If you look at parses for NiM raids from Wild-Berry, who runs madness, they pull great numbers on fights with dps checks that only allow for seconds of error. Assassins can be great, just require a lot more effort now, and a lot of people aren't willing to put that effort into the class. I love my assassin though and, luckily, the hybrid I've played for ages survived 2.0 so I'm a happy camper.
  6. There is literally nothing that makes me laugh more than someone losing a node and in response to why they didn't call saying they were stunned. What would be really funny is what if your typing was actually disabled while you were cc'd? That would make stealth caps even more fun =)
  7. I'm looking forward to trying out vengeance in arena, will be nice to see what compositions are surprisingly good. Two lightning sorcs beating two maras for example on PTS. I think people need to remember that above all else personal skill combined with teamwork and collective team skill will be more important, imo, than what specific classes you are bringing.
  8. RIP old madness =( although I used to run a decep/madness hybrid in pvp then anyways, seems to still work fairly well
  9. Learn the 0/30/16 spec well -> rape everyone in pvp. I am rarely beaten in damage on my sorc
  10. I just thought this picture looked bad@ss, had to share =) http://i.imgur.com/JY5rrag.jpg
  11. At this point in the game people just assume assassins/shadows suck. Today I was in a civil war (55) and some smasher on my team complained that I wasn't "min/maxed." Considering I was still mostly wearing war hero gear (with the 55 resolve augs) since I geared my jugg/sorc first I wasn't too concerned with min/max more than just getting partisan in the first place. Since he pissed me off I proceeded to do triple the damage of the next person in the wz with my deception/madness hybrid I've run pretty much since launch. Told him he might need to go min/max his smashes to catch up. While it may indeed be you if this happens all the time sins/shadows do have a terrible reputation right now.
  12. I run the 0/30/16 hybrid spec and find it by far the best for wzs imo. Every single time I try out full lightning or full madness I regret it. The mobility and spread damage this build has is extremely nice for pvp, you can basically be casting something almost every gcd, even when forced to kite. Plus wrath procced lightning strikes hit like a TRUCK in this build (over 7k in my gear on crits). The only downside is that it can be very RNG based. The premise of the whole build is you multidot a bit with affliction just to get the quick channel force lightning proc. You use Death Field and Crushing Darkness on cd (crushing darkness only on wrath procs). When crushing darkness is on cd use lightning strike on wrath procs, if you get a chain lightning proc off of that use it. To "burst" down a target I will usually get a chain lightning proc from force storm, affliction, get crushing darkness up, get a wrath proc then: Polarity shift -> Recklessness -> FL -> CL -> wrath procced LS -> (hopefully another CL) or death field -> spam FL and LS on wrath procs until dead. I can take down healers fairly well with this rotation. A lot of the sorcs I know insist on using full lightning but it is so easy to shut down in a pvp environment. If you really work on mastering the hybrid you have no excuse to not do top damage unless there is a good smasher in the wz.

  14. That is actually a legitimate concern but I set the record for warrior/knight dps on my jugg a few weeks ago with maybe 2 pieces of conq gear and no messed up bolster or anything so new records are definitely doable, even without the bugs you listed. I think if we could remove the records that benefited from those bugs it would be nice since it really is impossible to beat those now (especially a lot of the highest damage in one hit records) but I just don't think there is any way we could know which are "legit."
  15. A lot of those records are done in regs, with and without premades. Also to take people off of these lists just because they aren't on the server anymore would be a bad idea. Like someone said previously do you remove sports players from records lists when they are out of the league? or when they change conferences? No. Some people like Blunti and Damager might not play on the server anymore but they were some of the best at their class and imo their records deserve to stay. Also I just realized that my jugg Persies and sorc Gromphe would rank in top 5 for damage done/death ratio from the screenshots that are in the dps section. Thanks for taking over the thread btw.
