  1. I've been playing a Sage since pre-launch, like most others, and I have to agree with some of the things you put. The outfits, I'm not too fussed about. PvP gear post 1.2 looked really nice for the sages. However, the PvE gear, I'm pretty sure, is unanimously hated. Although the robes are passable, the hat is just a joke. Our 1.2 pve gear is a small improvement, but does look quite nice. I used to play a warlock in WoW, so I'm used to wearing dresses Animations have been a hated since our character class video. In my guild, we simply call it Pebble spam. I can't remember the link, but I was watching a video on YT with the reasons someone quite SWTOR, and I had to agree with one of his points: The abilities in this game...just aren't heroic. Some are, such as lightning, but our healers are just a barely visible wavy line. How about the awesome animations of healing that WoW had to offer?
  2. What's annoying me more than the 1.2 nerf, are the Sages who are coming on the forum, belittling over sages, and saying how "amazing they are at healing, and all those who can't heal now, are crap." I've been healing on my sage since launch, and they couldn't have ruined our healing abilities more. Yes, we did need a nerf, we would be able to do double the healing of a Commando/Scound. with half the work, but surely a better option would have been to either drop us a little bit, or bring everyone up to our level. I had been healing HMs without a problem - not because of my class being OP, but because I knew it well. My guild tried Explosive Content story mode last night, after getting to stage of being able to farm HM, I didn't expect much problems. A few whipes here and there, but getting a good few bosses down. We actually weren't able to get past the first boss. I can assure you, before anyone comments on this, the rest of the guild had the tactics down to a T. The reason we lost, is because myself and the other healer simply CAN NOT heal with his new spec. I've healed on an IA, so I know what the difference is healing is like, ergo, understanding how to 'energy/force manage'. Not being able to reduce the cast time on Deliverance means we are forced to be heavy on Benevolence. I wouldn't mind doing that, the reduce force cast time is helpful, but the amount of force for the amount of healing is not a fair exchage. But, my greatest quarrel is with Nobel Sacrifice. We did used to be heavy on NS, but this was because our abilities cost so much, even when I have 650 force, I found myself burning through it like it was paper post 1.2. Furthermore, post-1.2, I would say me and the other healer would spend a good chunk of our time simply getting back the force we lost by using NS, then we lost it again by using the force to heal ourselves from the NS, then we'd have to use NS again...It was a horrible circle. Not only that, but BW really did kick us while we're down by even taking out the skill that let one reduce the amount of health lost by 2%. Yes, it makes healing harder. Yes, it means we pay for our mistakes as a healer. But, No, we should not have become the support class - with our only use as force armour. Bioware, how about making it so NS only has this new affect in PvP? Regardless, knowing how MMOs work...it's unlikely they'll undo this. What they've managed to do, is actually ruin Sage healing. Anyone who says that, "Oh, if you can't heal now, you're a bad healer." How about, instead of saying rubbish like this, and going on about how much of a good healer you are, you put down how to counter this horrible change. Annnddddd, you're not the best healer, so stop acting like you are.
  3. I haven't read the OP, so sorry if it was mentioned before. I can't help but feel, after playing a OP/Medic, that the solution to Sage's is not to nerf them, but to at least bring everyone else up to there level.
  4. I run 31/8/2 http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGrRbd0dGzZf0oMZ0M.1 Within Telekinetic it's imperative to get the 100 extra force, especially if you intended to be healing operations in the future. You might hate it as you level (as I did), but noble sacrifice becomes your best friend in healing operations; when you get 2 points in Resplendence & crit on a healing trance (which happens a lot), you get to use it for free.
  5. Is there any reason the person hasn't picked up the 3% increase to healing? And does corrosive dart assist in getting TA?
  6. I've been reading around, and some Op healers say they don't bother getting the AOE heal, and instead put points into an energy regen something. Furthermore, that you only need about 28 points in medic, as opposed to 31?
  7. Sir, I give you one internet! You have convinced me to continue playing my IA.
  8. I must admit, it is very fun to play, and the storyline is fantastic - my only reservations on taking my IA further (only 16 right now) is that at end game, I'd imagine a raid group would take a Sorc/BH over an OP, and that the formers are better healers in raids than the latter.
  9. It's a Sage that I have, looking to make a new main on the Empire. But, it does seem like if I want to be healing well in Ops, my hands are tied to roll a Sorc.
  10. Thank you very much for all the replies. What I seem to be getting form people, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that: 1. In pvp op healing is brilliant. 2. In pve it's not, and one will easily lose out to a Sorc. 3. Healing is difficult to manage but with certain abilities becomes much easier. This has made my decision much harder to make, as I'm a raider not a pvper at end game...
  11. I'm considering making my new alt/main as an Op (currently only at 15). My main is a Sage healer, and so I'd like to continue healing as an Imperial agent; however, the whole prospect of relying on energy/energy recharge rate and tactical advantage makes me nervous. As a Sage, I know how much force I have, and that is all I have to rely on. I even have a heal that allows me to pop Nobel Sacrifice (replenishes some of my force at the expense of my health) without using up any health. It seems that healing as an Op is a lot harder as opposed to a SI/IA?
  12. Hi all, I've recently found a love for the Empire (and a growing hate for my own side). I currently have a level 50 Sage who has full Columi gear. After playing on a SI for a little while I was sold. I'll take lightning over a pebble storm any day. My concern is this, if I was to re-roll it as my main, would the play style be too similar? Are any of the moves different in any way, or are they a complete mirror? Would the story distract me from the familiarity?
  13. The classes seemed like the best place to put this. I currently have a 50 sage, fully geared in Columni gear. However, after playing on the Empire for a bit (and knowing people irl who play on that side), I'm considering defecting. At the moment, I'm levelling an operative to be a 'new' healer on the Empire, but after playing a few levels of the SI I'm finding the story rather interesting, the gameplay familiar and animations/moves enjoyable (I'd take lightening over a pebble storm any day...) I have encountered a few problems though, problems I hope the community can help me with. 1. Has anyone been in the same situation? (Switching from one side to the other) If so, what were some of the problems they encountered/how to get over them? 2. Healing as an operative scares me. Relying on a tactical advantage makes me feel nervous; I like to know that I have the ability to drop a heal when I want. Is there any advice for other operative healers? How easy it is it comparison to the SI/Sage? 3. I'm considering re-rolling as a Sorc; anyone rolled as a mirrored class? Did they find it boring at all? Thanks in advance!
  14. I hit 50 a while ago, as a Jedi Sage, and have found that I'm barely making enough money to break-even on my repair bills. (Excluding dailies) I was talking to a guildie who suggested dropping my current crew skills, Synthweave, Archaeology and Underworld Trading for Diplomacy, BA and BioChem - simply because of the benefits for raiding and the money from implants et al. Is it worth doing this?
