1. I have a feeling that once they open up sever transfers that Satele Shan will become the "quite" and or "dead" server. It won't happen immediately, but over time. Towards the end of SWG people started to all flock to a single server (Starsider) trying to find more people to play with. It sounded like a good thing at first, but when everyone from Bria (SWG's Harbringer) started to transfer onto Starsider it was a nightmare for the Starsider community. I could easily see history repeating itself here. Especially if the people on Satele Shan find they don't like the one notorious community they are being forced to merge with. Once that happens, the Harbringer trolls will follow the masses onto Star Forge.
2. This is happening to me as well.
3. Happening to me as well. Having to use Task Manager to make the game quit.
4. I to would like to know the status of Chat Bubbles. It is a very basic and standard item to have in an MMO.
5. While I appreciate the planned additions to SWTOR for the future. I like many others would rather see a "Bug Bash" type of update. SOE did one of these after the NGE was rammed down the throats of SWG players, and it was not only very needed, but very well received. I would also like to see Chat Bubbles addressed. PvPers and PvEers alike have received update after update since this games launch, while RPers and Social Gamers have received nothing. Just a little bit of love thrown our way would help our experience in game a lot more enjoyable. Oh and give it a ON/OFF toggle for those who don't want to see them.
6. 1. Chat Bubbles - I use these both for RP and for PvE. When I am playing the game I am looking at the middle of my screen, not the lower left hand corner of my screen. 2. Dual Specs - Would really be nice, other games now do this. 3. Real PvP. Not this boring retreaded warzone garbage. 4. (Instanced) Player Housing/And or the ability to decorate our ships. Crafting profesions could be given new schematics to build to decorate these things, and Bioware/EA could sell special items in their cartel store. 5. Clothing/Armor/Hair Dyes - Not only would this create variety and unique characters within the world, but Bioware/EA would make a killing if they sold dye kits. I've spent a mini fortune on them in Guild Wars 2.
7. The original post alludes to it: (kinda sorta, in Bioware's double speak don't hold it to us sort of way) March 5th 2012: STAR WARS: The Old Republic - Guild Summit 2012 Roleplaying Panel Bioware's new Lead Designer Daniel Erickson confirmed on the topic "The future of roleplaying" that chat bubbles are indeed coming and issues with chat bubbles having a negative effect on performance have been resolved: "Chat bubbles...yeah, chat bubbles. *bows his head in shame while applause roars through the room* So...this is...this is one of those weird...like... *sigh* ... there are things that you can always tell from our faces when we talk about it. There are things that are just kind of embarassing. Like we had chat bubbles in the game and for whatever reason there was a really strange technical... thing... with the chat bubbles that they totally dragged the performance of the game down. [takes a deep breath] We were like "chat bubbles...really? That's what's doing it?!" And you know, a tech came over and turned off the chat bubbles and framerate went way up and we were like "Oh god, okay." So...uh. We think we've got that worked out though. So chat bubbles: YES!" Of course that guy is now gone, along with most of the dev team it seems. Are chat bubbles the most important thing this game needs, lol no. The list of what this game needs is longer than Paris Hiltons sexual partners. But they are a very, very basic part of every single MMO I've ever played, and to not have them a year after lauch seems rather, well lazy on Biowares part. But then again, the only company that is slower at putting out new updates is Blizzard. We knew ToR was a WoW clone, but they didn't have to copy it in that aspect as well.
8. Very disappointing. Especially considering we were once told that the performance issues had been solved?
9. And after a half a hundred MMO's so is the Trinity. (In my opinion). Do I have a solution to offer? No not really, but I am not a game designer, just a consumer who is looking for something "new" that works. I guess I have two issues with the "trinity". The first is that, well its based on three old and stale rolls. Like others have said, I would like to see more rolls, like support that are just as needed/important as the big three. There is just no variety. My other issue is when I am forced to choose a needed roll like a tank, over a friend when it comes to doing high level/end game content. "Sorry you can't come, you picked a warrior and we need a off tank" Or worse, when people feel that have to play a roll they hate, because they cant find a group because they are a dps class and we all know how saturated that market is in every MMO. That's the one thing I like about GW2, I can do what I want, with who I want (at least i have been able to so far). True some of its a spam filled zerg fest, and that is boring to some. But I fail to see how that is any less/more boring than the trinity. Your doing the same things really, spamming damage, heals or taunts while avoiding the red rings on the floor and making sure you don't do this, when the boss does that (<--just a basic example, i know there is more to it).
10. I've seen a spike on the newbie planets, and some on fleet. But after that, it really drops off. But guess that is what happens with your base your cash shop and F2P model on restrictions.
11. Just the opposite for me. GW2 made me realize just how much I hate the mechanic. But to each their own.
12. What is the time table on Chat Bubbles (with the on/off toggle for those who do not want to use them)?
