  1. GW2 has shown more promise in beta than SWTOR can even show us now. I have two level 50s in SWTOR and have been playing since launch - but we all know where this game is headed soon - server merges with probably free to play later down the road. As for the cartoony looks, you have a point to a certain degree - I wasn't digging the anime-style of SOME of the chracters (particularly the humans) but overall, it's an impressive looking game. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560940718397042193/3FBED1B22899B013EB6ED6CD9EC42D02FB6368CD/ http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/462049_3834630674355_1535602019_33319821_1540678361_o.jpg
  2. So Bioware finally puts in a fun & dynamic world event (which it badly needed lets be honest) and you actually cry about it?... lol
  3. All it does is "encourage" people to leave a losing Warzone to queue into a potentially winning one. Why? The lack of rewards for playing a full game, trying, and losing. Yes, I'm speaking from a puggers point of view (I play in groups while I can) but when I'm not able to, I queue alone. The amount of people joining and leaving has increased to the point where it's not even worth playing if you don't have a group of people to play with. IMO, up the rewards slightly so that WINNING is still desired but not to encourage puggers from playing the game.
  4. Being casual doesn't "prevent" you from having a level 50, get over yourself. One of my buddies stationed in Kentucky started a week and a half ago (bought the game after a trial I gave him) and is currently level 41. Level 50 doesn't mean "hardcore", it means he/she stuck to MOSTLY one character even if they took their sweet *** time.
  5. From what I noticed, it wasn't QUITE as good as the cinematics. I didn't really notice a difference on the character models (I was a lowbie on the PTS though so it may be more noticeable later on). As far as non-character textures, they looked the same.
  6. I'm not sure why people are against this. Community = spamming LFG channel? Please knock that nonsense off. With a larger pool of players, it's more likely to take less time finding a group for people who don't have time to sit there all day.
  7. I bet that they held this content back until after launch (whose to say that this wasn't already finished?) so they could hold the subscriber base
  8. It's not okay, which is why they will have many players up in arms here pretty soon.
  9. I think a big problem is that, once you're level 50 in SWTOR - it becomes an inferior version of World of Warcraft. However, when you fire up the game for the first time at Level 1, you wouldn't think like that at all. The UI is overall bad plain and simple. The PvP is poorly done although it does some cool things like Huttball I guess as well as bolstering your stats for a larger pool of players. The group PvE content is just not as smooth nor simply as good as it's main competition. Hell, it barely functions most of the time. Aside from the graphics (which WoW can sometimes outshine SWTOR, especially in the environments/art department) and sound, it's simply not polished and doesn't feel like it was made for release quite yet.
  10. You guys should be comparing SWTOR to you-know-what-game PRESENT day. Why would you compare this game to what THAT game was SEVEN years ago? This game misses key features which should have been included (like LFG tool for example maybe?) Releasing non-functional and broken content is no excuse, just accept the fact that the game was indeed released too early to beat the Christmas rush.
  11. Exactly, BLAST THROUGH CONTENT IN DAY ONE is a problem no? There will ALWAYS be a hardcore group of players no matter what game you play. And guess what? They're the ones to warn us if something is incredibly wrong before we approach it. Obviously, the player who takes their time leveling and hoping for awesome end-game will disagree with me because they've been waiting for this game for years and are going to be thoroughly disappointed. Tell me something, can you name another MMO that didn't fall flat on it's face when people realized how broken/unpolished the game was? Pretty much every game besides WoW and maybe EVE (I don't know too much about the status of that game) and MAYBE Rift which should be on a current downward spiral. Quests? What quests? Do you want me to go back to Hutta and finish the ones I didn't do? Because there are no more quests at 50 except for dailies. Whoooooa cool! Space missions? Yes, those weren't super repetitive the second time around.
  12. What exactly are they reviewing anyways? If they didn't reach level 50 and experience how horrid end-game is then those reviews are worthless
  13. All I seem to do right now is log out in front of the PvP terminal, pick up the quests the next day, go to Ilum and trade objectives for a few minutes. I then take the fleet pass back, queue up for three wins. After that I turn my quests in for the Champion bags, and collect either Centurion Tokens or the same off-hand weapon for the sixth time.
  14. Here's the thing, if the leveling curve was INCREASED then it wouldn't have been a problem and not so many people have seen the level 50 content so quickly. However, the leveling curve is very easy as it is right now (not necessarily a bad thing) BUT it completely exposed how broken level 50 content is. I WANT the game to succeed, but when people see the issues that it has, will they resub? This game does a lot of things right obviously, I've gotten friends and family to buy it (both hardcore and casual) and they love it because it's simply fun to play. But that fun runs out fairly quickly as soon as you get end-game.
  15. What separated this game from other MMOs is definitely the production value and it's story/lore. After leveling up to 50, doing the flash points and decking myself out in Champion PvP gear - the game just feels like an inferior AND unfinished version of you-know-what-game. When you get to level 50, the epic story that led you to that point is basically gone and you're left doing dailies. Class quest? Completely finished and done with. PvP? Actually it's pretty fun being geared and being in there against level 10s I guess. Ilum doesn't even work properly or as intended so I'll leave that alone. The flashpoints are very, very generic and mobs lack any kind of sensible A.I. (I dragged a boss around pillars while the tank was dead and ended up killing it that way) and the raids are ALMOST non-functional to say the least, my current raid lockout has a bugged out first boss and somehow we're locked into it. Basically, the leveling process was amazing and didn't feel like a grind at all. The end-game however completely stripped itself of what it's good at and becomes an unfinished and incredibly unpolished version of you-know-what-game. Normally, most people would say "the game really starts at max level", and it's just simply not the case here. I guess maybe I was expecting too much, but this game is definitely no different than any other MMO on the market other than the fact that 2/3 of the people you see have lightsabers.
