  1. Really wishing I didn't make my Legacy Anchor a human now, seeing as humans can already be every class I will either have to spend money or go level up another race.
  2. My immortal Jugg is level 43 and I've been tanking since the beginning with friends. For fun lately I rolled a Powertech to see what ranged tanking would be like. At level 20 I resist more damage and gather more threat with significantly less work. Now I'm torn, to try and master the immortal tanking because it's difficult but look like an incompetent robot (because the armor is soooo great at 50) or take the easy tanking route and look like a total ******... I love the SW story, but the game is really making tanking as one an unrewarding experience.
  3. I was just ambushed by my ladies, and they asked me to chose. I am assuming that picking option A or B is permanent and that I cannot go back and 'change my mind' later down the road? Just curious.
  4. Excellent list, I'm currently an empire player but once I 50 my juggernaut I'm going to see what the smuggler is all about! Nice to know how good I'm going to look!
  5. I like the look of the mouse, and since it's a Naga I assume it's good. It is, however, 2x the price of a basic Naga for essentially a cordless model with a decal. The headset looks atrocious.
  6. That's a little dramatic, the Star Trek universe we know from the past is still very much in tact. The MMO itself was based in that universe, not the movie reboot, complete with Spock having recently gone missing as described in the J.J. reboot. I felt they pulled of a very good parallel universe story, giving true fans a nod of respect to the original material. That being said, I wouldn't want any of that for Star Wars.
  7. I re-watched all six movies before this game launched to 'get in the mood' so to speak. There's a scene in one of the prequels, I think Ep. II, where Obi and Anakin are on an elevator about to speak to the council. They're going over this laundry list of awesome fun adventures they've had together off screen, I assume to tell me the viewer that these guys are buddies now. Those stories should have been the movies. We all KNOW he becomes Vader and we all KNOW the Empire takes control. Spending some film on establishing how great Obi and Annie were together and all the amazing things they did as Jedi would have been much more valuable than the rushed, convoluted, story we got. Ep 1 could have been finding Anakin and covering his training w/ him growing up midway through the film Ep 2 could have focused on his adventures as a Padawan before and during the Clone Wars Ep 3 could have focused on his fall to the Dark Side Virtually every piece of "romance" and "political intrigue" that were stretched out well beyond their limit over the prequels could have fit in a more compact loop-hole-less arc not as the driving plot of the film but a driving story that shapes the character as they advance through a better time for the Jedi. Anakin's fall and the destruction of the Jedi order would have been all the more saddening and meaningful if we got to see what the golden days looked like.
  8. How about the opening scroll of text telling me that a trade federation is blocking trade because of space taxes... taxes that would most likely fund some kind of government federation of traders...
  9. The argument of whether it would take a long time or not is pointless. The fact is that it is a feature the users want. The reason we pay a subscription is for updates to content, right? If it would take 40-120 man hours to make it happen, I don't see a problem. That's why the office is still open, to work on the game and improve it for the users.
  10. And I thought I was dedicated to my inability to choose when I rolled Marauder for 25 levels then rolled Juggernaut for 25 levels and made a decision after that (Juggernaut was a lot more fun for me). You, sir, are impressive in the most odd kind of way.
  11. I read somewhere on wookepedia that The Old Republic was a golden age for technology. Most of the star wars tech we know and love was either perfected or refined in this period.
  12. The Sith are implosive by design. We don't know what will happen, but it's pretty easy to draw some conclusions... you can't build an order around the idea of killing everyone on your way to the top.
  13. I have never even looked at Warhammer 40k, my knowledge of the Waaagh was limited to Warhammer Online. If this thread did anything, it made me want to go buy some 40k games and get to know these awesome guys.
  14. Cramming as much CGI into a wide shot frame that already effectively used storytelling devices to establish setting, tone, and conflict is not a 'revision'. Of course the original films are lackluster in special effects that is part of what makes them so extraordinary. The limitations of those films establish the foundations of what we fans consider the lore. My brother in law found (and now owns) the very last printing of the original films before they were 'revised' at a yard sale... on Laser Disk... Now he just needs to find a working Laser Disk player. I would confidently say that if Lucas released a digitally remastered CGI improved super new box set of episodes 4, 5, and 6 in February he would make a lot of money. However, if Lucas released a box set of the original theatrical releases with none of his 'revisions' from over the years in February, he'd make a lot more.
