  1. As the title says I am going to be holding a Outfit (Costume) contest inspired by my City of Heroes days. I want this to be as much fun as possible but I need to lay down a simple rule before we do; NO SETS, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, This may not seem fair at first glance but I would like this contest to promote creativity, sets to me don't represent that, nor does adding a dye to a set. There's going to be a maximum limit of 2 pieces from the same set per outfit . This does not include weapons. With that out of the way your first entry for your first outfit is free, if you want to submit multiple outfits it will be 45,000 credits per additional entry. Let me break down the cost so you know where this is going -10,000 towards the prize pool -10,000 So I don't go absolutely broke (I will be the one paying out most all of the credits from my pocket) There will be 5 Judges that I will begin recruiting as of today 11/19/2019. Each judge I am going to pay 5,000 credits per additional entry to be fair for their time since this will be on the Server on the 14th. (I am one of the 5 judges just to be clear. Since I am the primary and this is my event that I am hosting I will take 15,000 per additional entry, I think that is fair since I'm doing the work to promote this) The judges will make a base pay of 25,000 Credits 5,000 for each Category if no additional entries are submitted. Each of the of the other 4 judges besides myself will be handpicked based off what I am looking for, If you have a recommendation I will gladly speak with them to see if they are what I am looking for. There will be a few different categories that we will judge. Each of these will yield a prize The prizes will be for Not just the costume, but matching mount, as well as matching companion. The different categories will be the following; Judging each of the categories will be the following -Military- Jaetix -Traditional Jedi-Sistt'yushiss -Non traditional Jedi- Rilmea -Smuggler/Scoundrel (This also includes Nightlife/And or what would be considered partying or Clubbing outfits just for this Category)- Dock -Sexiest outfit. Each Judge will select 3 people from their Category to move forward. After all 5 judges have selected 3 people from their category we will vote to rank in each category amongst all 5 judges who should get 1st, Second, and Third. Because there will be 3 winners in each category that means there will be 15 prizes overall. The total pot to be donated from my pocket is 12 Million credits 12,000,000. This means each Category has 800,000 credits across 3 winners. -1st Place will get 400,000 Credits -2nd Place will get 300,000 Credits -3rd Place will get 100,000 Credits And yes I understand that's not a lot but it is to me and I don't have a lot of credits. There will be a judge for each category that represents that Category , all 5 Judges will cast their vote in each Category to decide a winner. I'm only keeping the online open as part of anyone who can't attend the contest in game. Because I understand that this may cause people to be instanced due to how much players a zone can handle I will do my very best to do a live-stream while the contest is going for anyone who would like to be part of the audience and watch. As a last note I understand many of you may be hesitant to do this since I am asking for credits for additional entries, please understand this is not to fill my pocket, this is so after this event is over I can still afford to pay my repair bills for my 2 characters I play avidly. For any questions or concerns you would like for me to address directly please add me to your friends list and privately message me or send me in game mail if you don't want to wait for me to log on, my characters are Jaetix and Jagertt, I will be doing my judging the day of the competition on Jaetix if you need to speak with me. On a side note, this will be held on Tattoine unless it is necessary to change where it is located. For anyone that Can't make the contest in person but would still like to be part of the competition please post a screenshot and mail the credits to me for any additional entries entered. Please list the armor if you do post here as I need to verify these aren't sets and there's hundreds of sets in SWTOR, I don't have them all memorized folks. Also the contest will be at 11:00 AM Pacific Standard time when it begins. Thanks again and sorry for the long post guys. If anyone would like to help promote the Contest to get more people, This is the small Advertisement that fits in 1 chat entry if you help me in game Attention: There will be a Outfit contest on December 14th in game. For further information please visit the SWTOR forums. To find the link please look under STAR WARS: The Old Republic > English > Community Content > Roleplaying for more info. TY
  2. Swtorista shut down and this message is now posted at the top of their website explaining this. I already messaged the admins of tor fashion about the possibility of joining their community.
  3. I've had people ask before, and to some people this would be a form of flattery and they would be honored. Some don't see it that way though. I'm part of those some of people that don't see it that way. My creations are unique to me, I have developed a way of creating outfits that is unique to me and maybe a few other designer outfit crafters. I've never been opposed to helping people craft outfits of their own. But these are my creations. It's not me trying to be boastful. I want other people to share their outfits to, I enjoy viewing them, I used to sift through page after page on the "show off your mog" threads on the WoW forums cause I just enjoyed see what other people would make. Some people are happy purchasing a set, some people don't even care what their character looks like. To me thats not the case. I don't want people running around with my look. Start the way I did in this, pick a piece, look at other pieces, look at dyes, view them in outfitter until you see one that you like. I've done that for hours, and I don't see it as fair that I should have to share that with other people who didn't. It actually annoys me that people can see the items you use in game, and I've caught people trying to do it when I've told them no cause some pieces it wont tell you the exact name and with 50 logos for a boot its hard to remember exactly. I've had to log out and or switch armor sets and distance so my character tab closed out. These are my ideas. These aren't concepts shared by Bioware made into sets with nice names for others to enjoy. Those already exist, MANY OF THEM DO. So I don't understand why people see the need to take mine. Make your own or use one that Bioware has paid developers to craft. But these are my ideas, my concepts. And just like how plagiarism works, I don't like my ideas being stolen or used. Because I'm the artist behind the canvas that you see.
  4. Sorry, I know that may have come off as me being a little rude, but you gotta understand that some of these outfits I put hours into, and I've seen some people get very upset over me not sharing my outfits saying "Its just a game jack***" That's fine, I understand it's just a game to some. But this game is how I relax in my leisure time, And alot of that time is spent creating outfits I put my heart into. And it's just like stealing anything from anyone. I understand that it may not be your intent. But when multiple people run around using that suit of armor. It no longer has its unique feel. I Put hard work into creating these. ALOT. Alot of creds, time, and on WoW sometimes i would spend hours grinding a certain spot for a world drop cause it had a higher chance off certain mobs. So its not me trying to be a jerk, its that these outfits are special to me. Cause I put alot of work into crafting them to being unique to me.
  5. Never was a huge DBZ fan but I can appreciate your designs. I did watch it for a certain amount of time, a good show indeed just the action seems to be sort of spread out. If you like anime like that you might like zoids.
  6. While I do agree and I have seen the part of Tor fashion or I think it might be dulfy that does it. Most of those appear to be rather old. Although if you can point me to where it happens there and it doesn't seem to have to many cob webs I'd be willing to post there as well. I do understand where you are coming from, I just thought I would share my love of designing custom sets with the rest of the SWTOR community.
  7. None of that first 1 is a set. I make most of my sets, tools of the trade, I for one got tired of spending hundreds of thousands of creds only to have 1 set of armor after doing heroics to get credits. There is a work around but a magician never reveals how its done. I will simply give you one clue: Refurbish.
  8. I know the feeling, I don't see a multi quote on the SWTOR forums :/ . I have quite the collection, no sexy outfits , I tend to reserve my outfit slots for the military. Gah, gonna have to do 2 more replies.
  9. Hold on, let me see if i can change the settings K i changed it, it should be fixed now
  10. Alright guys, I normally don't post here, normally people out knowledge me on Star Wars and then I feel dumb and ya I don't normally hang around on here too much so to most of you who don't know me, Hi, I'm Jaetix, your local neighborhood friendly Gunslinger. So for a small Introduction I am on a Role-play server, I have a Guardian and a Slinger. I enjoy both, I'm not very good at PvP on my guardian but I like to try even though people tend to always tell me to get out. (Yes my guardian is in full 208 PvP gear just not very good) I do military role-play on my slinger a lot of my outfits are PvP oriented and I like it when everything matches, it annoys me when it doesn't , ALOT. At least as far as my character goes, I commonly joke and non joke that my guardian is a Dragon Slayer on drugs cause I have gradually stopped wearing robes, using light sabers, and distanced myself from the whole Jedi role-play since to me it seems very bland. Moving on that's just a small Introduction about me. I'm from World of Warcraft and I've been thinking to myself for the last few days about 1 good thing I can bring to SWTOR from World of Warcraft. Then it hit me like a semi. The WoW forums has a "Transmogrification" Thread or "Show off your mogs" in WoW we have the outfitter like SWTOR does not but it's called "Transmogrification" Wierd little term aye/ So I googled "SWTOR Show off your outfit thread" whole lot of nothing. So then I was like "Ok, well there's alot of sets so we alot of us know what these 6 piece sets look like but then I took a step back again. "What if I started a "Show off your custom Outfit" Thread. So I am starting this because I personally love seeing custom outfits, I get compliments on mine all the time. I've spent probably at least 72 hours infront of the GTN terminal designing outfits like a mad man. I want to show off my outfits to you guys and I'd love to see what other people create as well but before I do I just want to ask people to follow a few rules for this read. 1. Be kind to others, Please don't bash someones outfit, Some people really love their outfits and there's no need to make someone feel unwelcome on the forums. In example I've seen people on TOR fashion, where you can show off your custom sets and you can say which piece of gear it is for the different slots or you can leave it blank. I've seen people who left it empty. They don't want people to copy their set cause its unique to them. That's how I feel, so if someone doesn't want to tell you the pieces to their set please be respectful of that. Alot of people put alot of work into their unique outfits and you're only going to upset them. So please refrain from naming off all the items someone is wearing if they don't want to tell. That's really disrespectful to the creator of the outfit. 2. This isn't a rate my outfit thread or "Rate my mog" set that we saw on WoW forums, if someone asks then Ya i guess that's ok then, but again, it's not respectful to say "3/10, sucks" So without further A due and I'm sure I used wrong grammar for that, and that's 1 other thing. Don't this into a 1 post to correct someone's grammar. If you do please do it in a respectful way. Here's a set on my guardian, I'm showing it in model viewer and I'll show you why Without bad lighting on fleet http://i.imgur.com/vh7DbTu.png With bad lighting on fleet http://gregoryjones.imgur.com/all/ With the bad lighting on fleet my boots and gloves don't match it seems. Now for my Slinger who has alot more outfits. So I like to pride myself on thinking this is my best outfit as to me the guns, weapons, and mount match (Atleast to me they do ) http://i.imgur.com/rhHzKE5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Cr2zKen.jpg Now for the Matching mount, guns, and weapon picture http://i.imgur.com/0Sg7Q4a.jpg http://i.imgur.com/AZlrcyY.jpg And one last teaser, I won't show all of my outfits I'll leak them a little at a time to try to make sure this thread doesn't die. http://i.imgur.com/MAt6Wip.jpg And on mine I don't mind rating them just try not to be to savage. Anywho, looking forward to seeing what you guys have come up with after all this time. Edit: I have no idea why its refusing the BBC codes as a embed they are directly from imgur which I'm 95% is a safe site. If you do know feel free to educate me, its worked on other forums, no idea why its giving me trouble here. -Jaetix
  11. Ya i already have most of my back story in my head but I don't have anywhere to put even if I did type it out, also you learn about people in character unless your trying to be a roleplay legend or a celebrity, then i guess you could go about different ways of gaining popularity on the server start roleplaying and then post your story to the forums and if that hit fleet word could spread fast like wild fire but thats a different thing. Would be fun to be a celebrity in the roleplay world but who knows. And I remember seeing that spoiler somewhere on a planet when I was doing the guardian story line cause my slinger is a boosted toon. But I do agree with everything you just said, the only thing that truly grinds my gears in the military roleplaying community is when people completely just act like the military life doesnt exist but their going to roleplay a commander anyways. And the other is the military guilds alot of them refuse to roleplay with 1 another because they don't see eye to eye.
  12. To give a better response to you, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. And that is what I was doing, but to make it so way people could understand that not only was I struggling to find a way but to me its more like, go through the links click them, look. The evidence is there and all people have to do is look. I mean its like a page and a half essay. But you put what I was trying to convey in a more understandable message. Ty for doing that.
  13. To respond to both of you at once the answer I can see that conveys the message across yes. my 3 sentence explanation ill try to put this to the test. I had a situation that made me not feel comfortable with the knowledge I had already known. I did my research to prove to myself as well as others as well as inform the general public. And I posted my findings and the conclusion I came to. I think that's what you were asking for but if not I'll try again.
  14. Let me first start by saying thank you for taking the time to read through this and reply as "convoluted" as you say it was, it was that way to me as well having to sort through tons of information looking at various pieces of armor comparing them, there isn't even a "Date founded" for what would be the Republic Air Force. What originally set this off was when a guy I was role-playing with misinterpreted what another guy was role-playing with us an OOC asked them in local chat if they had just essentially aimed a I'm not sure if this is the right term but a prejudice comment about me, Which they claimed they had not. That's what started all of this, and then I thought to myself "Do I have the right to roleplay military on my slinger" that set me on the conquest to find this all out in what my eyes is my article that I typed but I will say that as "Convoluted" as it appears to you as the reader, that was for me as well when I was researching all of this I tried to do the best I could do to get the point across showing various armor pieces and what they correlated in my opinion very much alike in ways but I wanted to stray from Canon lore and go through the actual research, the X wings I believe they're called in one of the movies, if you were to look more closely at the armor, it bares a strong resemblance. That's my opinion though which I will say now that I am not stating as fact. As I type this out I am thinking "Doesn't it say at the bottom what my conclusion was" so I'm not really sure there is a need to sum this up in 3 sentences. That research and what I'm showing to me is worth a lot more time clicking and reading then on the 3 sentences, I started this wanting to find out if I belonged and fitted properly into the military role-playing community, and I did just that in what my eyes shows the strong resemblances and as the common saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words" There's multiple pictures and there's definitely a thousand words if not more. So to sum that up in 3 sentences would crush all the research I put into finding this all out, That's why I provided links for people to go and read as well as quoting wookiepedia in some areas. So I understand that you could help me better I guess make this easier to understand, and if you'd like to contribute I more then welcome that and I only request that you do it this way. please show respect to the article I've written and don't disembowel my work that took me well over 3 hours to type. I showed slingers more than enough evidence to provide to anyone that steps to them and says "You cant do military role-play your a slinger" or some other crude remark that is false, that there is evidence that supports the right we have to role-play in the military community, But I still want people to go and research, these are basics, they lay down the foundation of if you belong, which from a lot of what I shown, says yes. But I'm still researching this stuff myself. The foundation for slingers to say they have the right to do military role-play the evidence is in front of their very eyes. What you want to role-play as a slinger you're going to have to do research to figure out what it is you want to role-play. So I hope typing this out that you took the time to read this all cause it takes me quite a bit of time to type out these responses.
  15. This article is specifically about my research and findings for Star Wars The Old Republic in particular the military for the republic side only for mainly gunslingers as well as it clears up the armor coloring for the Republic army armor at least. Please note that what you read here is what I have researched and found, I am not saying that I am always right or wrong and if you would like to argue something I have said in this article please do so in a respectful manner as what I say is certainly subject to debate as this is going to posted to the forums upon my completion of writing this. This is for my knowledge as well as those who want to learn or are interested in reading this, this is informative. I will post my findings in this but if you would like to contribute to expanding the knowledge of others as well as mine or yours please feel free to do so, I would like to see a link though, this article will be strictly through Wookiepedia at this time. Also on a side note this is allot of what I struggled kind of wondering if my struggler fitted into the military role-playing community so allot of it you can sort of skip through, however I do think there is a good bit of stuff you can still learn here from reading the various links posted and seeing sort of what I'm seeing through my eyes. I will start this by saying that I play a Gun Slinger on the server "The Ebon Hawk" my characters name is Jaetix, I have wondered for some time if my slinger would properly fit into the world of military role-play and these are what I've found. From what I was able to gather to start is that from the looks of Slinger in my own opinions bares some characteristics as well as a resemblance to the Republic Starfighters Corps. The basic evidence to start this is for TOR within the game, There is a Republic vendors on fleet that sell armor for adaptive armor in the supplies section on fleet where mods up to a certain level which I believe is 56 can be bought as well, the vendor as stated is in the supplies port of the fleet across from where it says supplies on the top right of that area, that vendors name is 'Darthyn' under his name when you click him says "<Level 8 Equipment vendor>", Going back to what I was saying he sells a specific set called "Trainee Armor" At the very bottom of the list, the armor is purchasable for all classes, the weapons are only purchasable by certain classes, The "Trainee set" including the following weapon types; Assault Cannon and blaster pistol. The set itself as said before bares in my opinion a strong resemblance to the Republic Starfighters Corps or the equivalent of the Air Force in the real world. Link below As well a link to Tor fashion where you can view the set in its entirety itself. Link to Wookiepedia where it discusses the various military branches that are high lighted in blue and can be clicked to read up on more specific details. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Military Tor Fashion Trainee armor set link http://tor-fashion.com/trainee-pub/ Trainee weapon for smuggler- Blaster Pistol as well as being only purchasable by smuggler/Bounty Hunter. http://tor-fashion.com/trainees-blaster-pistol/ Trainee Blaster Rifle- Only purchasable by Agent/Trooper class. http://tor-fashion.com/trainees-blaster-rifle/ As well as Trainee Assault Cannon-only purchasable by Troopers http://tor-fashion.com/trainees-assault-cannon/ When looking at the Trainee armor set more closely as Tor Fashion did not do a good job of displaying the Emblems on each sleeve, The left being the Republic logo and the right being the "Havoc squad logo" To sum this up before you go that webpage for those who have no idea what I'm talking about when I use the term "Havoc Squad" , This is the little description given by the site I've given you all of these previous links for information from but here's their small paragraph description. " The Havoc Squad, also known as Havoc Squadron, was an eliteRepublic Special Forces squad of troopers in the army of the Galactic Republic, who fought against the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War. Originally known as infantry squad 326, Havoc Squad soon gained its name under the leadership of its commander Jace Malcom, and it was later led by Malcom's executive officer Jek Kardan, Kardan's protegeHarron Tavus, and Meteor. Havoc Squad saw action on many fronts throughout the war, from Ord Mantell to the Battle of Alderaan, and even after the Treaty of Coruscant was signed, the commandos of Havoc Squad continued to combat Sith threats during the resulting Cold War" They were in the Republic Army, why their logo is on the Trainee set , thoughts of my own would be someone from "Havoc Squad" cross trained(My own opinion again) but it looks like the Republic Starfighters Corps was being cross trained with the Army, that's the only reason I can think of why their emblem would be on that jacket Link below for Havoc squad on Wookiepedia. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Havoc_Squad Going into slightly more detail the "Trainee" set looks quite similar to the "Republic Squadron Commander Pilot" set Link below http://tor-fashion.com/republic-squadron-commander-pilot/ Now the odd thing is that on the "Republic Squadron Commander Pilot" set both emblems on the sleeves are missing, neither the "Havoc Squad" logo or the Republic logo appear anywhere I can see on the suit. Which I find rather odd. This set does not have a any weapons that I know went with the set. Which on the "Trainee" set the blaster pistols were for Smuggler and Bounty Hunter only. While the rest of the armor was purchasable by any class as well as the rest of the adaptive armor being sold by that same vendor, only weapons being class specific to purchase. To make this more precise to smugglers in particular ever so slightly, that set is yellow. Both are actually. Except on smugglers and Bounty Hunters can buy them. Just sticks out to me. I don't have any concrete evidence as to what the trooper would wear except for from the cinematic where havoc squad wore Red specifically, however when looking at another set called the "Remnant Resurrected Trooper which is also red . Link below http://tor-fashion.com/remnant-resurrected-trooper/ Is this the standard of what the Trooper armor should look like? I Don't know. There very well could be more then 1 variant of what trooper armor looked like during the old republic. So in conclusion to that it doesn't look like "Havoc Squad" got some special color for being the Elite Army guys they were. Just a emblem to call their own branded on in my opinion, way too many pieces of heavy armor -_- . Back on topic though the link to that cinematic on youtube below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuNvCOUy1Ts All branches of the military still exist in SWTOR Republic Army, link below http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Army Republic Navy, link below http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Navy/Legends And the Republic Starfighter Corps, link below http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_Starfighter_Corps And the page that will give you the link to both within the first paragraph I believe, both highlighted in blue and you can click them to read more, The "Date founded" BBY dates I'm typing right now are in a gray rectangular box on the top right hand side of the page. The Republic Starfighters Corps which I will now discuss To quote that first paragraph word for word. "The Republic Starfighter Corps[1] was the aerial warfare branch of theRepublic Military. Alongside the Republic Navy and the Republic Army, it served the Galactic Republic for nearly fifteen thousand years until after the New Sith Wars," The New sith wars ended in 1000 BBY putting the date founded right about at 16,000 BBY so in SWTOR the Republic Starfighters Corps does still exist. The page for the "New Sith Wars" link down below http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/New_Sith_Wars Information in gray rectangular box at the top right hand side as well. Now this article is mostly done, As I said before I don't know if the Republic Navy had a specific color for their armor if someone wanted to make a guild specifically about the navy. However I did want to post actual ranks for each division of the military as the trooper class does earn these various titles which could very well be used in roleplay but I don't know if people really care to read through all that so I will simply post the reference to the page where you can see the ranks for the various branches that would correlate closest to if you wanted to have a specific branch of the military as a role-play guild as I have seen this on occasion from time to time. http://www.militaryfactory.com/ranks/ In conclusion to what I started on my conquest to find out, yes smugglers, and my Gun Slinger particularly, have every right to do military role-play and wear their armor. I would suggest if you want to role-play military which most people are going to choose a branch that you go to the links posted. I hope this helped clear up some things, I know it did for me and I enjoyed researching this. I don't think I need to write the sources but incase it is needed it is Wookiepedia. Shout out to them for having all the stuff needed to find out what I came here to find out. Remember that we are in 3635 BBY because of the fact that I do believe KOTFE is a time lapse expansion when you exit in and out of it. And again one last time Army is red armor or if you need dyes it would be "White and red" would be what you search on GTN for. Navy is unknown what colors and Galactic Spacefighters Corps is yellow and white. And one last time thanks for the read.
