  1. Is there any particular reason why every other class (as far as I've read in the patch notes) received some sort of really neat new ability at level 72, but the Commando got nothing but a second charge of Propulsion Round? Am I the only one who read that in the patch notes and immediately said the hell is this? I mean, Prop Round is useful, sure, but I had a jarring sense that BioWare was too lazy to create a new ability for Commando and decided a second charge for an ability that's more PvP oriented was good enough.
  2. I mean, Gunnery and Arsenal only have a handful of abilities that they use for DPS. They have all of 6 they use regularly, not counting their two AoEs they might use on multiple adds fights and not counting their free resource ability that should have minimal usage in boss fights anyway. Aside from that, they have 2-3 self-improvement cool downs they can use. Quite honestly I feel as though Gunnery and Arsenal are among the easiest classes to play because they're simplistic, without too many abilities to keep track of.
  3. So I just recently returned to the game and finally noticed the Galactic Command news notice. I really like the idea, I do, and I wish something like this had been done sooner. HOWEVER. Considering the fact that we still cannot actively influence our companions to be light or dark, this addition to the game does leave a rather bittersweet taste in my mouth. Sure, some could argue that being able to influence some or our companions to be light or dark would be too much work, but it can't be that much harder than the companion rework you guys did in the past. You probably would't even have to change very many (if any at all) of the voice lines. I've wished we could choose what side of the spectrum some of our companions could be ever since the game released, and with the addition of this new Galactic Command I feel like this was a missed opportunity to add companion light/dark side influence to the game. Is it just me, or...? I dunno, guess I'll just deal with it.
  4. You know, I'd never really run into this problem, but I can see how it would be annoying to some people-- mainly, any class that's not a Commando/Mercenary (or Vanguard/Powertech). Which, ironically, are the only two mains I've bothered to get through the first 10 chapters. You wanna hit me with some CC? Lol, nope. Hold the Line and Hydraulic Overrides are my best friend. I imagine that Juggs/Guardians also don't have this much of an issue, as they have CC immunity on their leap, and a couple of other ways to get resistance to CC. But pretty sure most other classes don't have that luxury.
  5. Level sync was never intended to balance out "low level pvp". It was intended to make old planets relevant no matter what level you're at. In addition, your pvp argument makes no sense; if you have a guildie being harassed by a level 60 synced to level 34, you can still jump on your own 60-65 and watch said guildie's back. Nothing has changed about that. At all. What you're doing is crying over something irrelevant and trying to lump all players into your "us". A vast majority of the players in this game love level sync (myself included), and it was definitely something this game needed from day one. If it takes you 15 seconds to kill a low level mob on Tat, you're character is ******. Seriously, bust out the AoE and 5 seconds later you're on your merry way again. Even as a lowbie that's the same level as the rest of the planet, my kill time is barely 10 seconds, let alone 15. The only thing that takes me a while to kill are gold and champion mobs. It should not take 15 seconds to kill anything below gold/champion, ESPECIALLY since they drastically reduced the health of mobs when 4.0 released.
  6. I don't wish to sound rude here, but has anyone actually gotten confirmation from BioWare this is how the free 60s are supposed to work? The reason I'm asking is because all three of the 60 tokens I used counted towards my Legendary status-- after I ran a Flashpoint with them. No joke. I created a 60 Commando, a 60 Sniper, and a 60 Sorc. Until I ran a Flashpoint on them, I did not get any credit for completing their stories or the presence bonuses from companion conversations. After I did that Flashpoint though, the bonuses for everything showed up. I have the presence bonuses for every companion from those three classes. I have the Chapter 2 buffs from those classes. I have the Chapter 3 emotes from those classes. And my Legendary meter has those three listed as class stories are completed. I even waited a couple of days with my Sniper, to see if it would randomly show up out of the blue. It did not. I had to enter a Flashpoint before those bonuses showed up. And I know its working, because on a brand new toon the presence bonuses show up, as do the class buffs. And considering the fact I created those 60s on a brand new server, there's no way those bonuses came from some other character I leveled up the hard way. Can anyone confirm this, or at least confirm that BioWare stated that new 60s wont get the bonuses? I've looked, and can't find a BioWare post about it-- I kind of feel like people are just claiming one thing because they feel like free 60s shouldn't just have everything "handed" to them.
  7. Okay, so I want to be clear before I start this thread. I'm not going to say anything about the experience and how easy it may be to level. I'm not saying anything about the companions that may or may not be overpowered. I really couldn't care less about those discussions that have been beaten around the bush more times than years I've been alive (25). Instead, what I really want to say is, Good Job on the stories, BioWare. For 4.0, you guys really pulled out all of the stops when it comes to the character story. I mean, when someone mentions BioWare, I immediately think of how great you guys are at creating a tale. Mass Effect. Dragon Age. Star Wars. I know that different teams (and studios) work on different games, but that doesn't matter; what does matter is that BioWare is a name I can associate with a good story. I've been playing off and on since launch, and with the release of 4.0, I've actually started over on a new server just to replay all of the class stories, to experience every tale from level 1 all the way to 65. Some may be upset about the lack of a class specific story with Knights of the Fallen Empire. While i can see where they're coming from, I also really don't see the problem. We're all a single hero taking on every baddy in the galaxy. I don't need for my enemies to know I'm a Commando or a Sage or whatever. All my foes need to know is that I will hunt them down, and kill them. And while others might be upset that they blew through the story of Knights in about two hours, those people also didn't stop to enjoy the cutscenes or characters or choices. Not to mention the fact that we're not even done with half of the Knight's tale. But alas, I've let myself get a little off topic. Point is, BioWare, you guys are good at what you do, and what you're good at is some of the best tale-weaving I've ever seen in an MMO-- or other games, for that matter. Kudos to you.
  8. Honestly, its kind of a shame. The high likely-hood of never seeing 12xp again is one of the driving reasons I quit the game in the first place. The only reason I'm here now is because of that 7 day complimentary subscriber thing. During it I'm just gonna dick around a bit on my characters, then I'll probably be bouncing back out once the seven days is done.
  9. You're not forced to "swap them out". If anything, it makes your rotation even MORE challenging, trying to keep both buffs up at once. Isn't that what you complainers are raging about? Wanting more challenges in your rotation, or build, or whatever? A good Jugg tank can keep them both up. A lazy Jugg tank can just have a Jugg DPS keep the debuff refreshed, or just ignore the debuff entirely. So far, I'm still not exactly seeing what the problem is. You wanted complexity, they gave it to you. All I really see here is someone who got their nose bent out of shape because they no longer have an elitist forum telling them where to put their several skill tree points. If you want to leave, don't let the door hit you on the *** on the way out. If you're honestly so short-sighted, I'd say the game is probably better off without you anyway.
  10. I have an honest question. Are you people actually LOOKING at the disciplines, or are you just whining because everyone else is? EVERY DISCIPLINE SPEC I'VE SEEN SO FAR GIVES YOU THE EXACT SAME STUFF YOU ALL TOOK WHEN YOU HAD THE SKILL TREES! I mean, seriously. The new disciplines give you access to the exact same passives/new abilities/improvements that everyone took when they had the skill trees. The only difference? Now you obtain stuff on a per level basis, instead of dropping three points into it for more critical strike damage. That is the only difference. Instead of spamming points into whatever improvement you want, you get them as you level. Stop ranting about customization. Customization is when you actually get to make a meaningful choice to change how your character operates. When we had the skill trees, there was no customization involved. EVERYONE IN THE GAME took the EXACT same skill points ALL THE TIME because if you didn't, you were going to end up losing quite a bit of DPS/healing/tanking ability. There was no customization. Disciplines actually have MORE customization than the skill trees because you can actually choose and change different utilities that make your character behave in different ways. Instead of every single character having access to the same utilities all the time, now they can choose which to have at one time and even change them on the fly. Y'all need to seriously get your priorities straight, and take a good long look at the differences between the old skill trees and the new disciplines. I love the new stuff, personally. I'm offered a lot more leeway towards making my character unique than I ever was allowed with the skill trees. I'd say ignore these less-than-bright people, BioWare. You made a good decision, and you had better stick with it.
  11. So, after struggling to get just one character to 55, I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, this game was a waste of my $15 subscription, as well as a waste of $40 spent on the Cartel Market. And this is really all I'm going to say on the matter. I think I would have better luck grinding more GW2 and Tera characters than attempting to enjoy damn near any aspect of the game except the story lines. For those who enjoy the game, props to you. To those who have several 55s, even more props to you. You all must be made of more sterner stuff than I, if you are willing to ignore all of the shortcomings of this game and pronounce it as "very good". I'll keep an eye on SWTOR on the off chance something actually get fixed, but at this point in time, I'm simply not going to hold my breath. I'll die of asphyxiation first. I do not post this to start a fight, or anything, I am merely stating my opinion. SWTOR has a long way to go before I'll even consider making it a long-term effort.
  12. I can deal with other classes hitting me hard. What I can't deal with it my own attacks hitting like a wet noodle. I'd like to be able to pvp every now and then, as just straight up questing in this game is damn near as frustrating as World of Warcraft back in its old days. Even most of the Mando videos I find only feature those in maxxed pimped out gear, and even they seem to struggle a bit.

    Question

Okay, so I'll admit to being a rather new player to the game. Finally decided to sub and try it out. Anyway, my question is, is there a particular reason why a level 20 Sith Maurader can hit me twice in a row for 7k damage? Or even a 25 Sniper hitting me with Takedown for 8k? Even my Grav Round, which is supposed to be the staple of a Commando, hits for barely 4k. My High Impact Bolt, which is supposed to be a powerful attack, might only hit for 3k. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it because I'm in low tier Warzones? Most who read this will probably claim it'll get better at 55, but I don't want to spend all my time on this Commando to discover they are less than stellar, with a good team or without one. Should I go choose another class to pvp with? I'm not trying to start a flame war, jusr honestly seeking input from players who have been playing longer than I.
