  1. Agreed. I have stated this before in other threads and agree with most of the reasons put forth in this thread already. Tieing it in with completed 50's or legacy levels would be a good way to do it. You have made a major part of legacy the incentive to make new characters. You have stated that there may be quests requiring both republic and imperial characters on the same server (I believe this was at the Texas guild summit). You should, therefore, increase the amount of slots allowed on a server and preferably sooner than later so that you can reap the benefits of the legacy system you have put so much effort into.
  2. Yes, in my experience most people tend to overlevel the suggested level range of the planets while leveling up. When they get commendation mods they are then a few levels below them. Furthermore, the variety is restricted, particularly if you want to get mods that favor your primary stat. For example: Want a barrel? Sure you can have the aim barrel, but it's at level 33. Oh, you are level 39? Well, you can get the commando barrel that is level 35, but the aim is lower than the endurance in commando mods.
  3. Doesn't work. I tried it on about 5 different pieces of orange synthweaving gear that had no mods in it and had never been equipped. For example, with Fortified Electrum Greaves, I get the following red error message - "That item cannot be reverse engineered". Bioware: please test your patches before deployment. I've lost count of how many times you've said something is fixed and it isn't.
  4. Out of all the things you have to pay money for in the legacy system, paying for this capability would make me feel like it was money well spent. Well ... as long as it wasn't ridiculously expensive. Say 100-500k like similar abilities.
  5. I totally agree with this. When trying to sort out class patch notes, you sometimes end up having to pull up pages from several different web sites to sort out exactly what is happening. As to the earlier claims that one should discover this sort of thing, the logical extension of that is that we not have any patch notes at all and you try to figure out what has happened. That's ridiculous as is the basis of your argument. The patch notes are there to inform. If they don't inform accurately, then they aren't doing their job. A simple rewording of these patch notes to indicate not only what the new value is, but what it has been reduced/increased from would go a long way towards making these notes more informative.
  6. Nah, people want to make money eventually, or they wouldn't be posting to the GTN. If they will potentially lose money by posting to the GTN, 9 times out of 10 they are going to vendor it, because a guaranteed small profit is better than losing money on a non sale. In games with deterrent fees, often the only items that tend to get listed are the very rare, high level, high demand items or consumables. Even then, the only consumables are often the ones associated with max level or raiding - all the lower level stuff will be harder to come by. So, deterrent fees will shrink the market of available items and make tradeskills even less profitable than they currently are.
  7. Thank you very much for letting us know. Given the past record of non-communication about slicing nerfs, this is a major step in the right direction. Even were it an intentional (but nonsensical) nerf, we would want to know about it.
  8. I agree - we should be able to transfer any character to any server. I started off-faction characters on a seperate server so I'd have some real estate on character slots. Now with the advent of 1.2 and hints that some missions in the future will require you to have characters on both factions to level 50, I've started versions of those off-faction characters over on my main server. If you had been up front with this idea of multiple faction missions or that you were going to allow us to mail back and forth between characters of different factions on the same server, I wouldn't have wasted my time on a second server. In fact there was a discussion in my group of friends as to how we were going to approach this. That information would have been valuable from the get go.
  9. You lost me at "seam". Go back and "stitch" up your argument.
  10. This. And when you come post in a thread about there being a tooltip that says research available OR research not available, then change it to if it doesn't say "research available" it MEANS "research not available" ... you are giving two versions of the story. Take the time and confirm it. Communication is everything in your position and I think yours needs work. Moreover, the communication well before the patch came out clearly was not accurate and/or misunderstood (en masse). Setting expectations and not meeting them only damages your companies reputation as a whole.
  11. This is not true if you are mailing between factions. Last night, it would only mail to your legacy characters on other factions.
  12. I'm sure they didn't devise a marketing tactic to specifically "screw you". I can understand being disappointed, but I can't see how throwing a tantrum gets you much of anything.
  13. I suppose if everyone had roughly equal gear, that would probably be true. But, since the winners get rewarded with better gear, being bad is not the only reason for losing.
  14. People who have an abundance of time need to have something to strive for in an MMO. If not, then once they hit 50 and maybe level some alts, thats it. They move on to some other game.
