  1. I like your ideas. I would also be thrilled to have the personal Starship be more customizable. However, I don't think Wildstar will be any particular threat to this game. I've played it during Beta and the quest system is the old "wall of text, click okay" with no particular incentive to read the quest text (this can be seen in videos of the game, so it doesn't break NDA to talk about it). The artwork is a matter of taste, really, though I do prefer SWTOR's style over the overly-cartoonized style they use in WS.
  2. Hello! So, yeah, returning to the game after being away for awhile, and I've been browsing shortly over the forums but couldn't really find any data on it. Is space only giving "spacey" XP, or is it ground xp as well? Are there any bonuses to the ground game gained from playing GSF? (and if so, which?) Patching away at the moment, hoping to catch some of you dudes and dudesses in game. // Lars J
  3. Hello, fellow dark passengers! SO, I just recently returned to the game. In ye olden days I levelled a sorcerer to 50, but I ended up really hating him, at that point. Now, I want to give him another whirl, but with all the changes I'm really confused about specs. I do see some DPS specs on the forums here, but what about soloing? Are any of those specs capable of doing solo missions properly? Help would be very, very appreciated
  4. Just returned to the game (once again) and wondering what specs are plausible for levelling a Vanguard trooper now? Sitting at level 31 currently.
  5. This again, really? It's really, really simple, and if you've ever played any other MMO's you'll know precisely why. The reasons servers are dead, is because of the community. The players. And yes, I wholly, completely blame them. Because whenever a new hyped-up mmo hits the market, everyone wants to play. Everyone pays for the box and we all know, if we pay for something, we bloody -Own- that product (catch the sarcasm?) Thus, in -every- single mmo title, players start whining about login queues. How unfair they are, how crap they are, how annoying it is that they can't play with their buddies. All very valid complaints, but they miss the big picture. During early access, on one of the days, they launched 14 new servers and I seem to recall they launched an additional number of servers on top of that. Suddenly there were no login cues. But when the game eventually stabilizes with subscribers, there are suddenly alot of servers that hardly have any players. Thus "Your server is empty"
  6. Oh, oh, oh! I got an idea.. Play a PvP game instead?
  7. In all honesty, this applies to all MMO's today. It's the same in Rift as well. 99.99% of the people whining about changes on the forums are PvPers. It's -always- the same. PvPer #1 want class x changed PvPer #2 want class z nerfed PvPer #3 is just trolling PvPer #4 calls PvPer #3 an idiot while wanting class z buffed instead of nerfed. For some odd reason, the PvP community in general seems to think that all MMO titles has to be about them. What they fail to realize, again and again, is that Themepark MMO titles has PvP as a feature, not as a main playstyle. Very, very few games with PvP as the main focus have succeeded, because hardly anyone wants to play that way. It's why Ultima Online introduced Trammel back then which DID NOT kill the game. It made it properly playable. I understand that everyone wants their own slice of the MMO cake to be fitted to their playstyle, but for the love of the data gods, stop being egotistical and look at the bigger picture. All class changes -will- have an effect on PvE, which is quite evident after Rift started changing classes to suit the PvP players. x class got buffed, z class wanted buffs as well and got it, and it kept rolling till people suddenly started nagging about the PvE gameplay being too easy. Yeah.. who saw that coming? It's a tender balance, making a game for both PvE and PvP content, it takes -alot- of time to fully balance classes to fit in both worlds. So stop focusing on your own playstyle and give suggestions and ideas that actually revolves around the whole game. And let the Developers work, dammit.
  8. Here's what you people seem to be missing, over and over again, in every game released. SW:ToR is a Themepark game. A Themepark game -WITH- PvP features. It is not, and never will be, a PvP game. And judging by how every title since DAoC that was mainly PvP has failed, we should be happy about that. 90% of features that has changed for the worse in games, has been because of the PvP community whining about their classes, imbalance and whatnot. It happened in Rift. The developers decided to change one class after alot of "feedback" and after the change another class whined, and another, and another, and another. I can understand that it's frustrating if you like PvP that some servers have horrible queue times and I agree that this is an issue that needs to be fixed. Server transfers SHOULD come soon. But don't expect a themepark title to be so very fixated on the PvP part of the game. It's not what this game is about, simple as that.
  9. I'm going to be completely honest here, so sorry if I step on any toes. If you've somehow missed this event, it's because: a) You play an MMO as a singleplayer game. If you play it as an MMO you'd have at least a few friends who could tell you about the event if you bothered to ask. Are you even in a guild? SOMEONE must've known about the event. b) You are completely oblivious to what "In character" and "Immersion" means. If you stay off Tatooine because a news feed told you stuff's going on there, you're not much of the "Hero" material this game aims for in a character c) You don't really -want- to keep up on the news about what's happening in the game. If you had real interest in any events, you'd check the forums, check the fansites, check your guild forums. I'm sure someone there knew about the event and could help you. An in game event is, in my opinion, supposed to work like this one did. You are not supposed to have a purple arrow on the ground pointing you to wherever the action is. That would destroy the idea of creative thinking. If you're curious about something, ask in the general channel. If you want to take part in events, find some friends and ask them about what's going on here or there. It really isn't that difficult to take part.
  10. Okay, seriously, here, for your information. Get it right: The word you tried to apply to your post: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/ludicrous The word you DID apply to your post: http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludacris It's not that hard... really
  11. What happened in the past with other MMO's is irrelevant What matters is that, in 2012, having a game down 10 hours on a day for a patch to really barely fix anything at all is really, really extreme. Accidents do happen, but their general downtime (between 4-8 hours for patching) is beyond me.
  12. While I can understand the sentiment that only people with level 50 characters get the 30 days free, saying that the game does not value casuals are beyond stupidity. The game is very, very manageable, it remains a fairly easy MMO with many features available to players that aren't just raiders or PvP'ers. I understand that you can be peeved over the 50's getting a free month but leave Casuals out of your ranting. Thank you
  13. Good. So operations are finally becoming raids like they were intended to be? That sounds good, actually. If you cannot deal with raidlike mechanics, don't raid, it's really quite simple. Most MMO's to date have had the same "mistake = wipe" manifestations. Sicaron in Rifts Hammerknell raid, for example. People should stop whining about hard content, and instead take a good, hard look at their playstyle and builds. Check forum posts about your class, look at videos on how others beat bosses, RESEARCH things before asking to get it nerfed. Stop acting like an 8 yearold who had his cookies taken away. Deal with change, own up to it.
  14. As I also wrote on MMORPG: Okay, now I have to post something... If you (or anybody else) resubbed for a feature that was in PTS patch notes, then it really, really is your own fault. PTS patch notes says they can be changed at any time, same as in any MMO, same as in any game. If you're excited about a TEST CENTER patch notes feature, you should have waited to resub when the patch is released, to ensure you get what you want from it. I don't think they should refund anything, it is -Entirely- your own fault. I understand that people are disappointed that it isn't in the patch, that's all fair enough, anger is also fair enough, but the blame is placed somewhere it doesn't belong.
  15. There is also a mention of it in this article. To quote from there: The 752-meter-long Acclamator I-class assault transport carried thousands of Republic clone troopers into battle. The Acclamator I favored a wedge or dagger shaped design, like the Republic warships during the Mandalorian Wars, due to its effectiveness—it allowed concentration of firepower while minimizing target profile. This basic design was used in a number of larger craft predating it and would define Imperial ships for decades to come.
