Three things. As far as I know, all kinds of gifts are useful to at least one of your companions. You should invest in affection with all your companions, the higher affection the better chance to get critic on a mission = better items. I do diplomacy gift hunting and it's true random. I guess you where just unlucky. Try to get some extra missions from AH maybe?

This isn't true. I don't know how the game choose this, but there are some items (quest rewards for example) that I can RE and learn their schematics.

I just wanted to add my two cents. If Nadia uses double-bladed staff she's like Shadow Jedi, right? So technicly she should have a taunt, as a Shadow one can be a tank in the Light Armor... Don't have her yet and im 41 but will try her for sure. Anyway I dont mind Qyzen Wanted to try the Lt, but dont know If i want to get new gear for him, and Qyzen got lots of blue stuff on him from heroics and flashpoints Im full seer btw

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. On every planet there's one race the whole plot is all about it. Same on Tatooine, where we do a lot qs with sand people. And this game isn't about getting fast somewhere fast. You picked up a jedi consular, which is a char that meants to be interested with the whole universe. I found it really nice how they make up the whole story on Taris. Anyway, I'm a Seer Sage and doing all the main, side, heroic quests, doing the flashpoints according to my lvl, but only once, and I got way higher lvl then needed (I'm 32 and still on Tatooine). Don't need to grind. Just doing quests with all bonus quests, because I found them a great thing. If you don't like questing but grinding I guess this is not a good game for you.

You can buy them off Crew skills vendors. There's pne on Tatooine and on Tairs (those r the ones I found)

Well, they say you need like 100 hrs to finish one full storyline with sidequests.... And there are at least 4 characters for you to play (if you want to stick just to one side of the Force). He / She could play in beta for days...
