  1. I greatly appreciate you guys drying to launch Oceanic servers, it has always been a pain playing with sever lag. However due recent developments the population on these servers is drastically low. For example I was on at 9pm the other night and there were 6 people on Alderaan. What can we except the solution to this problem be? Will we get a super server or will be migrating to a different US server? Honestly I had to make a new character and start from scratch because Bioware won't give us a straight answer. And what is worse I don't know if my characters will get transferred to the server I chose so I could have easily wasted my time with my new characters....
  2. I agree this Revan thing is a disgrace. There should be some major event that results in the character getting the full set of armour, but now it looks like we have to pay either a **** ton of credits or real money in order to get it.
  3. Why the hell not? Guild Wars 2 managed to do a fairly fantastic Halloween event and guess what I do not have to pay a monthly fee at all. Just to think i was getting back into this game and it starts throwing this **** out of here. I wouldn't be mad if it was possible to get these event items through other means but to make them Cartel Market only is *********** appalling. Good job Bioware Good *********** job.
  4. IMO the packs are fine, I actually enjoy the crates from TF2 and these are pretty much the same thing. Buut, to put a Revan outfit inside the pack is actually insane. To get this armour should either be a massive Operation drop or a long quest line. Not some random pieces of gear you get in a pack. Also as people have said holidays items only available using the in game shop is a *********** disgrace. Look at GW2 haloween special you could buy certain outfits in the in game shop but it was possible to get some nice loot without using real money. P.S I resubscribed to this game not too long ago and this is very worrying. I can only get these items if I pay, which is wrong.
  5. This is my greatest fear when it comes to future content.
  6. Good videos. I really wish Bioware would give us an update on the current situation.
  7. I really wish we could transfer. I get excited whenever I see someone now
  8. 100% this, we need a super server I am happy playing in just a PVE server if it means I can enjoy Tatooine with more than 10 people.
  9. FYI I have subbed I do love this game and I am expressing my opinion on this F2P system. My input is just as valid as yours. Infact what I am suggesting I am sure will bring in more players to this game because as of right now the majority of the people see the SWTOR F2P as a bit of a joke. I do understand that F2P games need restrictions but I feel that the store could be done a lot better than it's current state. Like i said the ability to purchase cartel coins with credits would be amazing, or being able to unlock certain perks such as weekly warzones with credits would draw in a lot more players. Also you completely misunderstand me, SWTOR in theory was my dream game. Developed by Bioware and a Star Wars game what more could I want? In fact the majority of the game is actually very good IMO it is just the F2P options that I feel are hindering the popularity of this game. I did sub, I really do enjoy the game do not get my wrong. BUT a F2P model needs to be fair. The fact that the story is available to all players is great. My problem lies with the ability to buy power. I do agree F2P need to have restrictions otherwise would incentive should they have to purchase things, but to say 'Hey look at this chestplate it is better than anything you will find at this level and you can get it for real money" is wrong. But the thing I feel that every F2P thing needs is the ability to buy the "elite" currency or use ingame currency to purchase goods. A good example of this is planetside 2, with the exception of vanity items anything in that game can be purchased for certs. In order to get rockets for your ship you need 1000 certs, this is a fairly hefty amount of certs. You can also buy the rockets with the "elite" currency in this case station cash. Now 1000 certs is a lot of certs, this gives the player 2 options. Either A play the game in order to rank up those certs or B purchase it with money. The person who decides to play the game looses his time but keeps his money and feels like their is a good system in place. The other person who uses money gets the convenience of getting the rockets faster. This would work in SWTOR, want to get access to the warzones for the week you can either A buy it with cartel points or B Earn x amount of credits to get access to it.
  10. This is a good point, but I feel that the F2P players should have access to the same crystal but it will take them time to get it . Actually xp changes I think is a perfectly fair route. I think the way it's set up is that F2P players earn the normal rate whilst subscribers earn a bonus. This is not selling power, the F2P players are not missing out on anything because of this system it just might take them longer to reach it.
  11. Hey. I was one of the people that fell in love with this game before launch. I pre-ordered the CE edition the day that I could, but about 5 months after launch I cancelled my subscription. Now that I hear that its F2P I decided to hope right in and finish up some of my class stories but what I was greeted with was terrible. It is a shame to see SWTOR fall to such a badly designed F2P model. I think I earned around 2500 cartel coins based on my previous purchases and subscription, but I had to SUBSCRIBE in order to redeem them. I earned those coins and now your forcing me to subscribe so I can reap the benefits that I earned. The idea of a F2P model being substituted into a previously subscription based game is to draw in more players not force previous players to resubscribe. Hell I almost left straight away after seeing that I had to subscribe to gain my benefits. You should be welcoming new players and giving reason for the previous members to return, these guys have experience in this game and could easily make a new players time in this game a heck of a lot more fun if they have somebody explaining any kinks they have with the game. Secondly the cartel market is one of the worst F2P schemes I have ever seen. Firstly the number one rule when it comes to F2P games is DO NOT SELL POWER. I repeat DO NOT SELL POWER, this means DO NOT SELL items that have better stats that the level equivalent, DO NOT SELL the ability to equip high grade items. This is a shame because if anything, SWTOR already has a good vanity item set up, all you had to do was make it possible to mod vanity items (much like it was previously) with the stats that we want. Do not sell items with preallocated stats, this is just wrong. I highly recommend that everybody watch the Extra Credits video on F2P games ( ) The main points being that a F2P game should sell convenience not power. Everything else on the store in my books is fine, if not a bit over the top. Having to buy access to the bank is a bit harsh but I do think it is fair as having access to the bank does not mean that you are a better player. Just in my mind get rid of pre allocated stats in items and make them cosmetic with the ability to mod them with any components that any players F2P or not have access to. Thanks for reading (Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes) EDIT: Just though I would add some good examples of F2P mechanics, anyone that has played TF2 knows about the crates that can drop. These drop for every player but in order to open a box one needs to purchase key. Either through trading or micro transactions. The crates either contain an exclusive cosmetic item or items that anybody can get if they work at it. GW2 has this mechanic as well it it works fine for them. Speaking of GW2, it has an ability to convert ingame currency to micro transaction currency. In the extra credits video, they do state that it is a good idea to allow F2P players to earn the "elite" currency off their own back with out money. This should also mean I can convert my elite currency into regular currency. This gives goals to the F2P players who see things inside the store and feel like "Hey I really do want to be able to remove my headslot, I guess if I put enough effort it I can buy it for x amount of credits"
  12. Sounds like his regretting it. When I read this I got this impression from the OP. "**** my mum won't give me my credit card details again, why did I cancel it? Quick to the forums and demand 30 extra days"
  13. Honestly that's your opinion. Me I feel no grind and the combat delay is perfectly fine with me.
  14. Best way to include a combat long IMO. The last thing I want is some 13 year old complaining how according to his combat log my DPS is not up to scratch. The only thing that matters to me in operations and flashpoints is that we can get it done.
  15. Its a bug, you only receive the actual "win" if you join the warzone at the very start AND in the first 10 seconds the pop-up appears. Well that's what I have concluded.
