  1. I have heard conflicting things in other sections of the forums about EV since the new patch. My guild has done EV weekly and have cleared both 8 and 16 on various difficulties. Now last night we went in to do EV 16 man and got wrecked by annihilation droid. Even on norm 16 man he was hitting people for 15k+ damage with his missile attack that does the dot effect(don't don't remember the name) and he was like 3 shoting the tank. I have also heard other people having trouble with the trash After the boss. So has anybody run EV this week and encountered similar issues? I asked in the ops section but didn't get many responses and what answers I did get contradicted each other. Some people say its bugged and others say there is no change at all. I know for a fact he was hitting way harder for us than he was before. I just don't know if this is intended or not. I know they made some changes to KP like the trash can't be CCed so I wonder if they changed EV?
  2. It is doing more damage on all difficulty settings. Whether this is a bug or intended I don't know. There was also a rumor of other bugs with EV now such as problems with aggro tables and supposed fixes not actually working etc. All I know is last night when we did 16 man we got wrecked on the droid. Before he was a breeze on both 8 and 16. Even when we tried on norm mode his missiles were doing 15k+ damage 2 people.
  3. My guild has done EV countless time on all difficulty setting on 8 and the last few weeks we have started 16 and those went well. We have never had an issue with the annihilation droid but tonight we attempted to do 16 man on both normal and hard and we got totally wrecked. The boss would just seem to randomly one shot people in the raid with the missile attack that puts the dot on people. Like you would see people with 16k+ hp get hit with the missile and get brought down to sub 15% hp and then die after the first tick or some cases get one shot by the missile itself. The boss would also not do any basic attack just sit there and hurl missiles and do storm protocol over and over again at times. He also randomly reset as if there was nobody attacking him. Is the boss broken or did he get a stealth buff or something? We never had problems before and tonight we got wrecked like we were a bunch of lvl 25s trying to down him. Anybody else have any issues tonight?
  4. Actually it is. The roughly 200 less armor equals to only a small percentage of mitigation(and again expertise is more important for damage reduction than armor in pvp). Also using battlemaster or any endgame armor sets as your example is flawed because there is no reason to use social armor over your class armor as it will give you your set bonus and higher lvl mods. The only case social armor would ever really be considered is while leveling up in which case the damage reduction differences are minimal and not really a factor. Its not recommended to downgrade armor but at the same time it will not really hinder you. Simply put armor rating is a stat few people even consider when they look at gear.
  5. The difference in damage mitigation between the different armors is hardly noticeable and in most cases a none factor for anybody other than tanks(and even with tanks a lot of their armor and damage mitigation comes from talents and ability/buffs) whether you are doing pvp, solo pve, or group pve. If I get swarmed by 5 people in a war zone on my merc I am going to die just as fast as if I had been swarmed on my sorc(in fact in pvp it is expertise rather than armor that more directly determines how long you will live). The same in pve. I am not saying the BW shouldn't add heavy/medium social armor. I am just saying that some of you are exaggerating the difference between them. If you are a heavy armor class and decided to use light social armor and gave it up to date mods the difference in your survivability would be minor at best. Some of you are making it sound like mobs will suddenly start to 2 shot you if you downgrade your armor.
  6. While the lack of the combat rez is no big deal in ops because you will have others who can use it and there is the 5min debuff its more the principle of the thing. Why would you give a combat rez to two of the healing types but not the third? There is no logical reason for it. It also can be a pain in flashpoints where you might not have somebody else who can combat rez. Again its not a game breaking issue but at the same time there is no reason why all the healers should not have a combat rez.
  7. This type of "evidence" is simply nonsense. Don't believe me then look at any other MMO. Even during its height when wow had 12 million subs had its forums filled with complaints and general chat filled with trolls. Most intelligent people know to take such things with a grain of salt. If you judge the performance of a game based off of forum post and people spamming general chat for attention then every MMO around is a "failure". In reality the game is doing ok. Its not "failing" nor is it a smash hit. Its just doing alright. And that's how most sensible people expected it to do. This game is in no danger of being forced to go free to play anytime soon nor will it be close to wows sub level for the foreseeable future. Its only the fanboys and the haters who are delusional about this and make post exaggerating things to try and make it seem like their false points are somehow true.
  8. Thats probably because it IS easier. While all 3 healing types are viable its pretty obvious that sorc/sages provide more tools and more option and thus better overall performance. Everything I can do on my BH a sorc can do just as well or straight up better. Plus he has extra utility I don't have. Its no wonder that you are seeing people reroll a sage/sorc. It has nothing to do with not being able to "hack it" but more along the lines of a "why ride a bicycle when you can drive a sports car?" issue. Sure both will get you to where you need to go but one is a lot faster, easier, and more fun than the other. Not that I think sorc/sage is "overpowered" or anything. But when it comes to healing they are better than the other healing options.
  9. This made me lol bravo sir. But yeah I have no desire to see sage/sorc nerfed. As a general rule I support buffs instead of nerfs to address balance issues unless the class in question is like god mode op(and sorcs are not). But the fact remains that ops/mercs are inferior in healing when it comes to sorcs. While they can get the job done that have to work harder to accomplish this. And while I like my merc I am growing tired of struggling to heal things our sorc healer just breezes through. I mean hell I don't even have a freaking combat rez as a healer.
  10. And what "strengths" do I have again? You admit that every ability I have you have a counterpart that is just as effective if not outright better. Yet you have things I don't have(combat rez, force run, life grip etc) as well as having a more forgiving resource mechanic. So again I ask what exactly is the advantage I have as a BH over a sorc? Keep in mind the question here is not whether or not mercs/ops are "bad" healers because they are not. The question here is are they as good as a sorc?
  11. I don't know much about ops. But as a bounty hunter this post did make me lol a bit. This is ALL of my heals: Kolto shell: Is a buff I can place on a target(only one person at a time tho) that has 10 charges and heals them when they take damage for about 400ish and is instant cast. Kolto Missile: ground targeted aoe that heals 3 people for about 1k. Is not a smart heal tho so it can heal somebody already at full hp and can even heal vanity pets like the CE droid instead of a player. Is instant cast on a 6 sec CD. With talents can apply a 5% healing buff on the target for 15secs and when used with super charged gas also applies a 10% damage shield. Healing scan: 1.5 sec scan that heals for about 2k and has a 9 sec CD with talents. With talents gives critical efficiency which reduces the cost of my next rapid scan by 16. With talents can also give a 10% armor buff and a weak 9 sec hot. Supercharged gas removes the CD when active. Rapid scan: 2 sec cast with talents and heals for about 3k and cost 25 heat. Rapid shot: when combat support cylinder is active allows rapid scan to heal targets based on your tech power. Emergency scan: Instant cast no heat heals that heals for about 2k and has a 21sec CD. And supercharged gas which is a CD that consumes 30 stacks of combat support and increases healing by 10% and vents 16 heat. Also gives the above mentioned buffs to certain healing ability. Last 10 secs. And thats it.The healing numbers are approx based on what I do with mostly full columi gear and of course will alter based on gear and stats. Also some of the CDs will be lower due to set bonuses. Notice the lack of a combat rez and a decent aoe heal? Notice how my class is designed so that in order to avoid overheating I have to follow a set "rotation" with my abilities rather than being able to chose which ability would best suit the situation? Notice how I share your "weakness" of not being able to do any meaningful healing while moving? Notice the lack of utility and variety of abilities? You have now seen my full healing arsenal and I ask you do you really believe that my class is on par with yours when it comes to healing potential? I am not saying sorc/sage is op or anything but there is a definite performance imbalance here. Mercs and ops have to work harder than a sorc does.
  12. Actually he is spot on with everything he says. Like I said in another thread I never really noticed any imbalance until I started doing hard and nightmare mode ops just how much better a sorc is. Everything I can do the sorc does just as well if not better. He also has tools I don't have. Mercs/ops are indeed viable to heal all content. But its also a fact that a sorc straight up heals better. I am not saying they are "op" but if you don't think that there is an imbalance between the healers then you are just blind. I also think you realize that what he says is true but you just refuse to admit it and that's why you became hostile to him. They say the truth hurts.
  13. All aoe heals require you to stack in order to get the maximum heal effect so this "fact" is irrelevant. No matter how you sit there and try and spin it the amount of raw healing your aoe does dwarfs the other classes to the point its hysterical. There is NOTHING a merc or op can do healing wise that is vastly superior to a sorc while there are many areas that the sorc performs better in. I am not saying sorcs are op or mercs/ops are broken but there is an obvious imbalance healing wise between them. A merc/op has to work a lot harder than a sorc does in order to achieve the same result.
  14. It is true that there is imbalance when it comes to healing classes. When I was leveling I thought my merc was just as good as any sorc. Then I hit 50 and started doing ops on hard and nightmare modes with a sorc as the other healer. And then I quickly learned how inferior my class was. Pretty much everything I can do the sorc either does just as well or straight up better. In addition he has extra utility I don't have(such as a combat rez, why does a healing class NOT have one?). Are mercs and ops viable healers in all content? Yes they are. But are they as good as a sorc? The answer is a resounding no. And this needs to be addressed. I am getting tired of having to work harder just to achieve the same results. It has gotten to the point that I am considering re rolling a sorc. I like the BH class and story but its healing performance is sub par compared to the sorc. And I am tired of having to struggle with things that he can do with little effort. And no I am not asking for a sorc nerf. I am asking to be given the tools that put on par with a sorc. Like giving me a combat rez and an actual legit AoE heal for starters.
  15. The only thing that needs to be fixed with BH/Commando healing is that they do not have a combat rez like the other healers have.
