  1. Hey everyone! I'm ATown (Jordan) and I've been a member of Pax Republica since before SWTOR launched. I just transferred my 16th and final toon to Ebon Hawk and I'm loving the server so far. I'm one of the PvP-only guys in the guild so I was afraid that a PvE server would be lacking but the Queues are shorter and the teamwork/communication with PUGs is about the same (for better or worse ) So I'm very glad that we made the switch and if you're looking for a friendly guild that strives to be the best in both PvE and PvP, check out our website and see if you think we'll be a good fit for you!
  2. Sin/Shadows have been OP since launch, mainly because of their key features: stealth plus CCs and defensive cooldowns. I can [stun - force breach - stun - backstab - stun - backstab - project] all before you get a single hit off. That will take even a great geared player down to 50%, most of them down to 10-20%. Then I have defensive cooldowns that can last a long time. There are obviously counters to this (Sniper/Gunslinger in the open is a good counter) but since beta testing, if you got in a WZ with 8 (or 4 in arenas) sin/shadows, it's /game. Not saying that's good or bad, just saying it's not new.
  3. So your answer is: I dont know. Thats all you had to say. I asked the question to see if anyone had heard anything, or knew anything. You have no information at all, but you still answered. And for your follow up question: People obviously want it, based on the prices of the rest of the set, and it is not time demanding at all compared to a different armor set that needs to go through a design process. So your question is really stupid.
  4. I want you to explain why, when I asked a question of when they will come out, you took time out of your day to NOT answer the question, but tell me that you don't like them. That is what your adult mind thought would be a good use of your time and effort, sidetracking a very basic question, so that other people would hear your opinion on something that you don't even care that much about.
  5. Is this something that is in the works for a future cartel pack? Do we have an ETA? I look kinda silly walking around in kapris.
  6. All I wanted to do in this game was play Gunnery Commando. They day I got in my first Beta, It had me hooked and I loved it. They nerfed the crap out of it in 1.2, and made it unplayable in PvP until 2.0. So I tried other specs, other classes, other A/Cs and still enjoyed the game. The reason Im on the Shadow forums is because I really got to love being a hybrid shadow tank (KC/Balance). But now, they made that nearly impossible too, so I changed my spec again and Im having fun running full infil or full KC. Calm down, it's OK, this has happened to all of us before, and we dealt with it like adults.
  7. You have 7 points into skills that are not used at all when you're in combat technique. So if you're going to be protecting for 600k in a round, you have 7 skill points that could be better used elsewhere. It seems useful, I'm not knocking it, just pointing out a weakness. I'll have to give it a try.
  8. Builds: Running the Pre 2.0 KC/FiB hybrid (24/1/14, i think?) is still possible, but you give up a lot for FiB. It's still very good to have that 30m aoe, and on a Pug team, its probably worth it. For ranked, its worthless. Full KC does very good damage, and has ALMOST the utility of the old hybrid. Slow Time, Kinetic Ward, and damage in general got buffs. I think this is the best PvP Pug build. Full Infil became probably the best 1v1 spec in the game. It's ridiculously deadly and has good DR. For rateds, this is probably the way to go Gear Optimization: LOTS of confusion, and disagreeing numbers. Basically, you can't go wrong with grabbing as much power as you can, I've seen no good evidence to take Alacrity, and Crit is arguably as good as power til about 29%. Those numbers are based on about a half dozen threads, and since they often disagree with each other, I don't know which one to believe. All I can speak to is what Ive researched, and that's PvP DPS Tanking and Full Infil, so I dont know about PvE or Full tank, so anything I say on that will be a lot less informed than I would like.
  9. Let me ask a couple of questions so I can better answer your question: 1) What is your main goal with this build? Tank for a healer you're Qing with? Holding a node? Tanking generally for Pugs? Or just survivability in Pug matches? 2) Can you post a link to your skill tree?
  10. My only point is people saying the healing buff is useless for tanking: You cast it on your healers, go jack the other teams healers (now with +15% heals coming to you) then if you need to peel for your healers, zap back. As a pure tank, it does have plenty of use, especially if you have a pocket healer that you can communicate with, and DEFINITELY in Rateds.
  11. Its still very good, at least above average. Against most buildsr of about equal gear you should be able to win, you just have so much utility. But if youre used to playing in full infil, you wont be that good. It will be a step down but you should feel pretty comfortable sitting in a huttball endzone if you want to pull people rezzing. edit: I would note, still use a shield. full tank spec in DPS gear benefits more from a shield with DPS mod and enhancement more than a Focus, so you can have a more beneficial kinetic ward.
  12. Its going for specific things: pulling, interrupting caps/planting, and solocapping. People dont like this build because it doesnt DPS as good as 5/36/5, or use the KC tree to its fullest, but thats not the point. Getting moderately better damage wont influence the outcome of a game like pulling a hutball carier into the fire or stopping a cap with a 30m AOE. People think that anything in the KC build has to be tanky, but pull and kicking people out of stealth is huge for winning a game. I've played plenty with full infil and full KC and its great and has a lot of use, but Ive found I can influence a game's outcome better with this build. This sint me asking if this is a good build, this is me saying Ive tried a lot of stuff, and this is the best that Ive found for winning or losing a game.
  13. That is a valid point, and I just dont want to nerf Project as its your main tool for solocapping, and holding a node in 1v1 or 1v2. Celerity is, by far, the biggest utility that this build is missing. If you think you can 1v1 with 15% proc for upheaval, then Celerity will give you more utility. I dont think I would be as effective in winning if I trade being better at running the huttball vs being able to better solocap or hold nodes.
  14. Like I said, if your intent is to kill people, be a sentinal. As far as winning games goes, FiB is better. This build is solely meant to help win games. Shadow Wrap is amazing, and I love it, (I did give it 1 point) but it will come at the cost of nerfing Project (harder hitting project I value more for 1v1 than a higher proc rate on Shadow Strike) getting rid of FiB (no) or taking away a CC (no). As great as it is for 1v1, it doesnt make you more likely to win a game, like having longevity in holding a node, or AOE interrupting a cap. Like I said, if you have anything that you think will make Shadows more effective at winning the game, please let me know, I am always interested in making myself more effective, but from experience, Shaodws are moe effective with FiB than Slow Time as far as objective based PvP is concerned
  15. LINK TO 32/3/11 TALENT TREE HERE This is solely built to win games. Thats a Shadow's job in PvP: Win the game. Dont heal, dont DPS: win. We can stealth in the huttball endzone, hold nodes for a long time, solo cap nodes, pull, stun, mezz, interrupt, we are the utility players. This build is for that. You should still win 1v1s against similarly geared opponents, but it's focus is to win games You NEED to have pull, Force in Balance (FiB) and CCs to do this. This spec gets you that. If you disagree with this spec, first ask yourself: "What about a different spec would make me more likely to win a higher percentage of games across the board?" If you still disagree with the spec, please comment as to why, and what changes will be more likely to win War Zones. A note on FiB: People (correctly) point out that Slow Time got a buff with 2.0 and is better than FiB because of its debuffs, and it is, if your goal is killing stuff (in which case, the Sentinel forums are down 1). But if the goal is to win, let me put it like this: How many voidstar games are decided by if the 7 people busting out of rehab can interrupt the bomb planting in time? Slow time is moderately better than FiB, but FiB has a 30m range. It's a 30m AOE that does great damage and heals you up to 5%. That is huge when so many games are won or lost by whether or not you get to the node a split second late.
