  1. Logged in to read the flaming and surprised that there was actual level-headed discussion. If you legitimately LIKE playing an Operative you'll find a way around the Nerfs. That's why I brought the shaman business up. I played enhancement shaman from Pre-BC till about 10 months ago and no matter how badly they messed with things, how much I didn't like it, I was still going to play enhancement shaman, because I enjoyed the play style. Like Hamchuck told us, skilled people will persevere. If kills are handed to us on a silver platter in a warzone and then taken away, of course you're going to come to daddy BioWare and ask for your stuff back, it's human nature to want to be the best. Now you're the best at something else, learning to adapt. Let's be honest, what other class has had the nerf bat this hard so far since live? None. If you quit, that's fine because us remaining Operatives will either a) reroll or b) stick it out and continue to play the class the way we want. I don't need people with bad attitudes giving my class a bad name, it was cute because I just shrugged when my guildies would talk smack about how stupid Operatives are in Warzones and now they laugh at how squishy they are. Doesn't affect me. Play smart, realize your classes limits and tools and use them, and understand that everything can't be done within the time you open and you've used all our damaging abilities once. Pick lower HP'd players off from stealth, try lethality (I actually haven't tried lethality at all), figure out some kind of Hybrid spec that works for you. Or give up and don't post in here anymore, because everyone's clearly tired of reading about Ops crying.
  2. Hello. I'd like to first off say that I play an operative. I leveled MOSTLY using the Medic tree, but fooled around with concealment while leveling and a little bit at 50. Let's just get down to business. Pre-nerf here's how the story went: Operative opens up, you're knocked down with an Acid Blade+Hidden Strike, Poison Dart (if they think they need it), you then LITERALLY faceroll your Shiv/Backstab/Lacerate, Debilitate and then continue the facerolling. What that meant to other classes was: unless you had a decent healer to help you, or someone who happened to be watching to counter-stun or peel you off them, they were dead. If they weren't dead, they were close enough to dead for you to be able to basically be killed with a couple shots of white damage. And the problem with this is that even when we had no PvP gear and they had quite a few pieces, the story had was the same. Let's be honest here, from the receiving end, does that sound fun at all? I've been healing Warzones for most of the time I hit 50 and I'll be honest, I haven't had a personal problem with Concealment Ops/Scounds, blind/debilitate and hug a pillar, heal myself up, what are you gonna do? As a healer I could heal through most of the damage they dealt to other players, it was if they were smart and interrupted my heal and stayed on me well. I felt like from my point of view, the smarter Operatives and Scoundrels were able to get me, even with little PvP gear it wasn't too much of a problem. For other classes, they don't have the same tricks we have, Marauders have their "Vanish" but it lasts for a few seconds, BH has a knockback but they're most-likely still "Severed" and you can get to them easily. We were the only class that didn't require gear to be able to solo another player with ease, and it really wasn't fair to other classes. Since the nerf, now we are given the same tools but a bit less damage, and I'll admit a significant amount of damage was taken away from us. With the amount of damage we do, and the little amount of survival we have wearing medium armor, we have to play smarter and pay more attention to the people around us. No longer can you just pick a random player and expect them to die as soon as you open up on them. It's going to suck but making posts about how Bioware sucks isn't going to get us any attention, have you seen the Shaman forums on WoW? Good, you don't want to. Play smart, adapt, figure out a way around it, don't open up on people who have full hp, play as a teammate now, hassle the healers, open up when they're healing a group, interrupt, stun them, flash grenade, vanish, do it again. Just because you don't have the same kind of burst you did doesn't mean you're useless. And in closing, nerfs and buffs will ALWAYS be needed. I personally think they should give us back the armor pen and leave the other stuff the same, that alone would help plenty in both PvP and in PvE. Otherwise, when people figured out how to survive the operatives in Warzones we'd be crying for a buff in the first place. Go ahead and flame, here's the truth.
