  1. Bioware/EA doesn't care about it; it's not a priority for them. How can we tell that? 1) their solution to Open PvP on Illum was to delete it. 2) the resolve system has *never* met player expectations as to how It should function and therefore is still broken regardless of what the devs intend it to be. 3) the sloppy, unthorough effort with the bolster system, whose primary purpose was to allow PvErs to PvP, even though we already had a solution for that: recruit gear. The easier thing to do would have been to bump up recruit gear stats. 4) wz maps don't rotate correctly from the player's perspective. 5) they thought It was a good Idea to remove expertise from WH and EWH rather than fix the issue with their itemization system that precipitated the dilemma in the first place. 6) Valor, as far as I can tell, doesn't serve a purpose at the moment. 7) they always boast about improvements to operations and flashpoints as selling points for new game updates and rarely mention PvP. I'm sure there's more I am forgetting. What's sad is that if they think that most players just PvE (probably true), the lack of effort to address end game PvP makes that a self-fulfilling prophecy. Anywho, I guess I'll play this game until I am tired of leveling toons...
  2. Yeah exactly. [foo@bar:~]$ echo "all good ideas" > /dev/null [foo@bar:~]$ ./gg
  3. Duh! Such an obvious solution. Have a PvE only stat too! You make PvE raid grind gear and PvP WZ grind gear have same basic stats. Then, they differ by an extra stat that only applies in each realm: PvP keeps expertise and PvE gets another stat that works only there. That's fair to everyone because PvPers get an advantage for their efforts when on their turf and vice versa for PvErs. And, you could then put back the old bolster system for lower level PvP as is. Top level PvP can be bolstered as such for PvE grind gear: replace the PvE stat with entry level expertise in WZs. Raiding in PvP gear could bolster to entry level PvE stat. As the game progresses you keep periodically raising the entry levels for bolstered expertise and new PvE stat so that the advantage doesn't get out of hand for either side.
  4. Yes! I've been seriously considering doing this. I saved all of my BM sorc healer mods, thinking I would slap them into legacy gear later to give some future sage toon a pvp head start, but maybe this is better for them. Perhaps dropping them into a cheap cartel suit is and giving it back to my main toon is the answer. What's really laughable is that Ashara Zavros, my companion character, who is in champion gear, has more expertise than my EWH sorc.
  5. How about this? PvE gear is buffed (or debuffed) somewhere between entry and mid level PvP gear in WZs. Only allow a modest gap in stats between entry and top level PvP gear. PvP gear is left as is since expertise is worthless in raids. Done...
  6. It sounds like your itemization system is broken then. So go fix that. It seems strange that a choice had to be made to screw PvP armor sets for either WZ's or Open PvP. It sounded like the main problem that was trying to be solved was gimped PvErs' and newcomers in PvP. Why not just bolster those PvE armors to just below entry or low-mid level PvP armor? Why did the solution to the PvErs' issue require taking away something from PvPers?
  7. I've tried to follow along with all of the posts here. As a pvper, my perception is that I have just had a big, steaming dump taken on me. Maybe that perception is wrong... However, this is what I know for sure: we definitely have a problem. At the very least, the problem is a major failure on Bioware/EA's part to effectively explain and communicate the new system they have and how it (hopefully fairly) works for all. At worst, the players posting here have hit the nail on the head that the new system is an unbalanced, confusing piece of trash.
  8. I admit that I haven't read enough yet to fully understand the impact of the PvP gear changes. However, my perception is that 2.0 has just taken a big, steaming dump on me and my PvP bretheren. I get that we want a system that shouldn't scare newcomers away; recruit gear and the periodic price downshift of battlemaster, war hero, etc. ensured that new players could get over the gear hump with a modest effort. What I don't get is that for existing pvpers WH and EWH has been taken away from us. I get that you want a new and better system with new gear. But ffs find a way to "grandfather" in exisiting players who earned what they have! In the past, at least you could keep and use obsolete pvp gear; I saved all my BM mods for a future toon's pvp headstart. Now, it seems like my EWH will be useless in 55 pvp with no expertise stats. Over time it has been clear that BW favors pve over pvp. Making the next operation or whatever has been boasted about in favor of even giving us back a basic open pvp rewards system on Illum. That's fine. But now we need to put everyone who stuck with the WZ system back at square 1? I don't get it. If you want to make a new pvp system to better allow general players to compete that's fine but don't crap all over the current pvpers in the process by not respecting their efforts and achievements.
  9. Thanks for letting me join! --Pompey
  10. To clarify, a guild who can put together some RWZ groups is preferred, but not absolutely required.
  11. Pompey is my sorc. I will look for you online later this week.
  12. Hi. I have a full WH Sorc healer. I would like to find a guild where I could sub-in to an established RWZ group a few times a week. I don't have as much time to play MMO's as I did once upon a time, so if your guild has required hours then it probably won't be a good fit. Given this, I am open to joining a more casual guild who at least can consistently put together PUG wz groups of guild members. Also, I would consider giving the Republic side a try, provided that the guild could be patient while I brought a new toon up to speed. To be clear, it would be hard for me to find the time to re-grind out all of the valor ranks I have done on the Imperial side. However, since I saved all of my sorc battlemaster armor mods I might be able to cut a few corners if I rolled a sage healer. Thanks... EDIT: Changed the title of the thread.

  14. I do all of those things. 1) I always use resurgence before everything. However, it only reduces casting time of Dark Infusion to 1.X s from 2.Xs. Dark HEal is always 1.Xs but it sucks for healing amount. Innervate, the channeled one, does return health and force to me but it only ticks for 600 pts and gets interrupted with enemy AoE knockback very easily. 2) The purity skill cleanses stuff, but I can't use it when I am being choked out by an enemy now can I? 3) The bubble only is effective for X amount of damage. Then it goes away for Y s before you can use it again. Try spamming the bubble when an enemy stuns you and another one DPS's you. Do you play on a PvE server and laugh when you annihilate PvE fools in PvP?
  15. Due to the Trauma PvP debuff, I cannot ever keep anyone alive including myself if someone who knows what they're doing attacks me. It's really stupid. I almost never get a guard because the fools in warzones don't know to do it and there is SSSSOOOO much CC and interrupts that I cannot ever keep myself alive or anyone else for that matter who is being focus DPS'd. If one of these things was changed, healing would actually be viable: 1) Make the Trauma PvP debuff not apply to a healer for self-healing (i.e. if someone has specced past a certain point in the healing skill tree). 2) Make CC and interrupts not chainable. I could live longer if I was actually able to use my skill bar every now and again. 3) Make kiting more easy. Enemies can root and leap to you so easily that you cannot ever escape any enemies. 4) Make healing skills not take over 1s to activate. As a sorc, resurgence is the ONLY instant cast I have. Dark Infusion and Dark Heal take way too long to activate. Many allies are dead before I can even cast a heal. Plus the long activation time makes it very easy for enemies to interrupt me. 5) Give healers better dps or CC. If we can't have improved healing, at least give us more tools to go toe-to-toe with foes if they take us on. ONe of the previous posters here was right in that 1v1 healing never wins; it only wins when there are several people and opponents forget about you.
