  1. Same issue here I get a message to go to the SWTOR Twitter page for more info... only thing is there is nothing there about the log in issue.
  2. This is what I get when I try to log-in: "The log-in service is currently unavailable. Details can be found on our Twitter account" "Twitter" being a link to SWTOR twitter account page... There is nothing on the page that suggests that there is a log-in issue. Anyone know what's going on?
  3. What is a "meme"? Apparently I am to see some kind of video or pic? Is that what I am supposed see? Anyways, I hate it when people use obscure internet/social jargon references to something and think everyone understands it. What ever happened to just saying what you have to say and be done with it. Be clear and concise.
  4. I have been in the US Army for over 21 years. Am retiring next year. That being said... every assumption in this quoted text is so off the mark. The retarded idea that our IQ is low is RIDICULOUS to say the least. The majority of military members have higher education and various degrees. Ranging from associate to a doctorate. Apparently this Trevalon has never served nor is he aware of the sacrifices that military members make on a constant basis. To include having our own constitutional rights watered down (military necessity). For me and most others it has nothing to do with " joined up to go play soldier in meaningless wars ". You sir, have watched too many Rambo movies. Most of us joined because we wanted to serve this country by protecting it and it's people. Protecting our way of life... clue for you... deterring violence and war by other countries or entities IS protecting America. Why do you think Japan and Germany decided not to invade the USA? Party because the populous was armed and partly because of our military power. IE: it was a deterrent. IE: protecting the country from said war etc. We serve so people like you can bad mouth us. We make sure you continue to have that right. We would rather you just say thanks and go about your business. We don't require your place in line or any "special" treatment, like discounts at stores or restaurants etc. All we ask is the people do not forget what we do and the sacrifice that we make (some make the ultimate sacrifice). It sounds to me this person takes his freedoms way too lightly. To my brothers and sisters at arms...a heartfelt thank you for your service. To those 101 kickin chickens I suggest you grab a chute and come over to the real ABN core... 82nd We will get you your wings .... See Trevalon there is a camaraderie and pride you cant possibly fathom. The 101 guys know I am not disrespecting them, just having some fun banter. But you sir are a mountain of disrespect and misinformation.
  5. Yes they exist.... Yes you can aquire one... But you have to wait till F2P hits... It will be in the Cash Shop, allong with HK51 and the New Super Secret No-Holds-Barred Free Flying Space Combat Update. Just have to for over $70 in Cartel Coins.
  6. I played LOTRO since launch. I tried to stay with it durring F2P/Sub hybred. It just went down hill fast. I absolutely loved that game. TOR talks a good game about the so called 4th pillar...story.... Dude they have nothing on LOTRO. That game has so much story in it that it boggles the mind. Granted it is a wall of text 65-70% of the time. But hey what do most of us do anyways... we turn on text, read it faster than they can say it, and spacebar thru. TOR didnt bring anything new to MMORPG. They just spent way too much money on VO when they should of spent it on various other areas of the game. The game suffers greatly cause of that. I loved playing LOTRO, the world is rich and full, but F2P ruined it as it will do to this game too.
  7. The problem is it's bait and switch. Your right I did pay for a game and a sub to play the game. It entitled me to everything in the game, minus expansions.. Your absolutely right. But every single game that has went F2P model has screwed over the player base to include the subs, with the damn store. It starts out just fluff... then a few little xp bonuses or crafting mods... then something that was only able to obtain in game hits the store. Then they take somethings out of the game and put it in the "store only" catagory. Happens every single time. Had I known the game was going to be F2P (which I think they knew all along, the signs are there) I would never of bought it and or subbed to it. The game could of been wickid awesome. And if you think chat is bad now... just wait till the dredges of MMORPG enter with F2P. Makes the head spin
  8. George Lucas has stated that HE is the only person that knows what yodas species is and what world they come from. He said he will take it to the grave. So I guess that means no.
  9. Has nothing to do with conspiracy theories at all. Has to do with taking the blinders off. See things for what they are not thru rose colored glasses. The game design in general screams F2P. Why very few people never seen this comming is beyond me. Lets look at it: -Everything is instanced. How better to cut off people that havent paid for the content than to instance all the quests in some cave or elevator (to get to the floor it's on) or building. -Area is so clostrophobic. Choke points everywhere. Again... an easy way to put up a barrier for those that did not pay for the content. -GTN. They somehow can't get it right... Is this because they are idiots with master degrees in computer programing or is it because they knew F2P was comming from the begining and this failed GTN will make the store more appealing. I bet the store will be easy to nagivate with no bugs. -Space ports and fleet etc... So much stop and go. maybe it is because F2P was in the design. You are on some space port for some planet... "I'm sorry sir/ma am, I cannot let you thru customs... you do not have a (insert planet) passport." -Super Secret Space Project... I am almost positive everyone is going to have to pay for this, subs and F2P alike. "If you like space combat.... if you thought the space minigames was interesting and fun diversion... you ain't seen nothing yet.... Go to the Cartel and purchase a hyperdrive, expirence free flying space enviornment and combat." Then they will make you purchase the different space areas that you can go to. They will call it Hyperlanes. -Little to no sandbox elements. Easy way to stop people from doing what they want. Player driven content in a sandbox enviornment means no spending money in the store. Anyways like I said this game had F2P written all over it from the git-go. You would be blind not to see it. Oh forgot about the HK. First it was subs will get it free. Now it's... well we are looking into it we are not sure who is gonna have to pay for it yet. Really? If you don't know by now, your not very smart. HK was delayed for months cause they knew since before launch it was going F2P. They just wetted your pallate. People will buy it even subs they know this. That is why they are going back on what they said. They are creating drama to make you want it even more and slowely easing you into buying it. Open your eyes people. Open your eyes fanboys. The whole last year (beta included) has been a prelude to F2P. EA is gonna milk this IP and stick it to the fans and customers. And they knew it from the start. It upsets me cause I had high hopes for this game. I thought it could be a real winner. Now I realize it's nothing more than a $$$ crop. And I would be fine with that if it wasnt so blantant, and didnt screw up the game and IP. I guess the lack of EA/BW caring about the game and community beyond the $$$ signs irks me. What happened to BW having some pride in their games?
  10. When it effects the player base and community then yes i expect it to be communicated. But your are missing the whole point. The point I was making is I think they knew in development that they were going to use the F2P model. And that would be fine if they communicated they from the start. Instead they gouged all of us for money. I wouldn't of expected it from BW. They really screwed their reputation over this game with their shady practices.
  11. Since the announcment of F2P one has to wonder if all those Patches/hotfixes/unscheduled maintenance wasnt for bugs but for the implimentation of F2P. We all know EA/BW has not been forthcomming or completely honest with everything they have told us in the past. Gets me to wondering. With all the bugs still here from launch and not fixed after 8 months, and numerous months of beta testing... did they know from launch they were going F2P model? I mean maybe they haven't fix them because they know it will go away when they impliment F2P. If they fix them all now it may screw up the F2P coding etc. Just a thought. It just seems wierd that so many bugs that people complained about in Beta are still here. And continues to be here. I think the non-regular weekly maintenance is a cover up for F2P implimentation. And always has been. Especially when they say the hotfix or patch fixed X bug, and the bug is still there. Then when you report it, they tell you that it's your rig or your router/isp connection that is causing the problem etc. I think they knew durring development that they were going to go F2P. Kept their mouths shut to get people to buy the game at 50-120 bucks(depending on which version you bought), so they could recoup the cost of development. The game now sells for what.. 15 dollars. A far cry from the origional purchase price 8 months later. Skyrim is still selling for 50 bucks. BW/EA dropped the price drastically in order to make it seem people are getting a good deal. Unknown to them that the store will nickel and dime them a hell or alot more then 15 bucks a month plus 50 bucks origional purchase cost. In the long run they will make more money, and the customers and fans will be screwed. I call all this shady buisness. All you OWS supporters should be protesting lol. What do you all think?
  12. Well that is why I said it was my opnion. I am sure for people that are collectors, they enjoy collecting the trinkets. I was just speaking for me and me alone. For me.. it failed alot. Was not on par with the last world event. Last world event I had alot of fun with it. This one... well quite frankly didn't do anything for me. But if it was your cup of tea (nothing wrong with that), than so be it.
  13. I was nothing but an endless travel grindfest... and for what.. a speeder that is 90% and a few cosmetic items? I guess I really don't care much what my armor looks like to an extent, as long as it functions well for what i need it to do... IE: keep me alive. And why would I want my Jedi or Sith or Smuggler to look like a Tuskin Raider? Anyways in my opnion... this world event failed on many levels. The Ragoul Event was pretty cool with some good rewards... nice crystals and armor etc.
  14. Bethesda is publishing Elder Scrolls Online... http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/ I hope they do it justice.
  15. To reply to the post about the fleet and so many people on it etc... Yes there are usually 100-200 people on it but ther is alot of things also not happening... npc moving around and or being scripted to do things when something triggers it.. IE agro radius and fireing back. Also you don't have alot of animations going on on fleet as compaired on a planet. All this is information that must be sorted out by the game engine. This is one of the reasons most things are instanced. To cut down on the load and lag. Not to mention I think they fully knew they were going F2P from the git go. All the gated places/instances and choak points. Seems too many for it to be coincidence. Problem with player controlled content is... there is so very few reasons to have WPvP... Not enough cross faction Zones. And the ones we do have have a huge dead mans area separating them. They need to make quests in each others territory. This would purpertrate WPvP player driven things
