  1. If we wouldn't both be gimped for it... I have a Operative who would gladly trade Rifle for a sleek pistol. In fact I have him using one of the teeniest tiniest rifle skins available precisely due to this.
  2. You know... Strike what I said before. Perhaps were all in knee-jerk reaction mode and PVE is there? (shrug) If not maybe not far off in an expansion (though I already mentioned that as a hope in last post). I'll play either and or both anyway.. just to be able to control pitch yaw -roll -speed and direction of my ship. I hope they are careful with the PVP and 'gearing up ships' as mentioned though. The last thing we need is to copy that particular 'Freelancer featurette' (see I admit some parts of the old games are not good) anyone new entering scenario to have their tookus handed to them repeatedly and inevitably because entry level ships no mater how skilled the pilot can't even scratch the paint job on the buffed ones. that doesn't really help anyone, makes people sad and makes us wait longer for pvp warzones for lack of bodies willing to enter. Again. Good work Dev's. Cheers all. If you do have to complain- keep it PG and constructive.
  3. Thanks Bioware. However... It does not change the fact there should be PVE. One because the option should be there in all fairness for those that prefer to challenge tactical scenarios set up by the Creators (tactical situations in which the computer controlled foe also has limited recourses like the players do and not constantly refreshing fighter and cruisers. So that tactical decisions can be made in a scenario whilst we are flying around in some lovely story or even random missions with our friends on our wing. Two, it should be there since the comparison games that we have been holding up as examples as to why this game did not need a rail shooter... it needed this from the get go all were either fully PVE or were PVE oriented with a PVP OPTION. Classic PVE (mostly ) games we offered as examples of what 'should exist' X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Tie fighter versus X-wing The space combat from Star Wars Galaxies *which I did not get to see but heard was ok. Wing and Strike Commander Privateer, Starlancer, Freelancer And that is just the combat. With their PVE missions with various objectives goals and more then one path and one singular way to accomplish it. Though usually ending with blowing something up it was not necessarily so. If you wanted full immersion and a real foe reactions to "omg I'm just about dead" one could add in Strike Commander's and the MMO City of Heroes semi realism of a damaged foe saying 'Fudge this sheet!" and trying to escape to fight another day the by literally attempting to leave the combat zone. Which adds a wonderful awesome sense of urgency to any mission that might require "Allow no witnesses or Kill or capture all" Scenarios. However if added, semi complete missions or even failed results while still moving forward in the story (if any) aught to be allowed for with perhaps objectives such as "no witnesses" being a secondary bonus objective and not effect whether the mission finishes or must be repeated. Indeed I almost wish that such a thing currently existed for the fly by rails mission. It kind of does in that those are usually arbitrary 'destroy x more of this or that" but that lacks the feel of a more personal objective. Now lets get to the Smuggling and Transport of good, services, Sith artifacts, Alderanian treasures, or just plain fine merchandise that allowing cargo carrying missions and smuggling runs would have brought to the game. Via the examples of Privateer, Freelancer and the possible carrying of illicit goods I did not personally experience with Galaxies... if indeed the game had this. It is possible they have thought of such scenarios with the PVP but again the fact that is seems to be PVP exclusive if I'm reading you all right and not jumping to conclusions... Is fundamentally wrong headed and excludes people that don't like that level of competiveness and would prefer working with all other players present or solo if no other players present... or solo with a companion as a wingman (ala Wing commander and Strike Commander examples) to get as far as they can in some wonderful story mode we know these Dev's are fully capable of doing. MIND YOU... Perhaps this is just the beginning? The creation arguably RE-creation of this style of combat system and we will eventually see this new game not just as a PVP game but PVE as well. In time if they are willing and we are Game... not only might it meet but it may beat and excel beyond these wonderful old examples of PVE free flight combat games. Dear Dev's Please don't forget some allowance for failure options... I don't know about anyone else but I actually enjoyed the extra skill it took to be flying with that jerk Maniac from wing commander. You didn't get that "joy" at all unless you bombed out on a few starter missions. lol Peace all And thanks Dev's for listening.
  4. All the above when able plus... As far as I can tell the last few ambush overhead flybys of fighters are able to do way more damage then anything that has proceeded them. At least it feels that way. I used to try to kill them with guns as I would have blown through missiles earlier -this is base ship setting instructions btw zero upgrades- so having blown the missiles already I was shooting at them leading the targets of course. (The only flight sim-able part of the rail shooter) anyway. This was the wrong tactic, cause either my 'leading' shots were hitting fondor itself maybe (dunno if they even can)... or as I've more recently guessed, the last 3-4 pairs of fighters get ramped up damage. Whatever the case, do those turkey's with the missiles. Save the few you have even if you have to laser everything else. Once you get even one missile upgrade your fine for it and the whole shebang though. Don't even get me started about the next escort mission on your to do list and the barrage of crap the escorted ship takes when you leave the asteroid 'trench/tunnel/cramped space area?' which your not even allowed to try to counter till your following ship emerges out of the 'hole' too. I despise these escort mission designs. I want to have the option to counter this junk when I want and it's tactically advantageous to do so. I want the enemy to be less numerous but smart and when they are out of resources- They are out of resources! Good job smart pilot. I don't want to stupidly follow the stupid escorted ship on it's foolish 'let's dance as close to death as possible for no good reason' dance. I don't want to do that nonsense myself unless he mission parameters require it. Arrrgh. ok rant over, I hope the "save missiles enough for 3 or 4 overhead ambushes at the end" helps you. It took me from failing every time to having it be yawn worthy with no upgrades needed. Mind you they're nice to have. Good hunting.
  5. Good stuff. Keep going and you might catch up to my old favs for customation. The vaunted old now retired City of Heroes. Not being snarky... it's simply true. We need body mass and height sliders and facial customization within the custom faces. Eye tilt, nose angle... there are no male faces with a ski slope Bob hope nose for example and if there were... it would probably not have the eyes tilted as one wished... All these little details that don't seem like much till you stop and think about it... and when you do you realise... "Hell yah! Why isn't this active now?!" Another example.... Beard stubble should be in beards NOT in whatever the hell it's in right now. Cause where it is you can only have rugged stubble one your males if you want goggleface tan or the silly bushy eyebrows face. 2 options with manly stubble but this girl (me) hates both of them. We need to be able to take body size 1-2 -3 and 4 and be able to alter the mass proportions of each part. Each of the 4 should be given a min and max height. I for one would love to be able to play a Tyrion Lanister inspired Sithlord or Jedi. I wan't Gene-Genie, my Gene Hunt inspired Imp agent to look as much as Philip Glenister as humanly possible. For the shere giggle factor of it. As of now I'm stuck with a face and hair that doesn't quite work but comes sorta close and body size 4 cause I'd rather er on the side of humor... But ideally he would be something between 3 and 4. You folks see what I'm getting at here? I've got a body size 3 blue male twilek in the relaxed jumpsuit and his chest is so massive it eats/clips the straps. I could fix that with a body slider for chest easy... Withought you having to dicker with each armor bit. Anyway. This is a good continuance of customability. Splendid work gang. Keep going, don't stop now. Luv yah, Cheerio!
  6. Coms! Coms! Coms! Unless the gear is a blue that massively outstrips what you or fav pets are using currently or is filling an otherwise empty slot (early levels). Or... it's a lovely orange with mods in you or pets can use either in the item itself or stripped from it... Or it's a totally awesome looking orange piece you can see yourself or your pet wearing for some time to come while flippin' the mods as you level. Because it looks awesome. Pre 19 if they offer you an earpiece or head or pre 23 a implant... and your corresponding slot is empty or a pets slot is empty (even if the wrong -battle- stat it will still give the pet or you endurance) usualy these rewards are keyed to your main stat though. Take those. Named Pet green rewards: Personally, unless it is moddable avoid like the plague. I have never been rewarded with a named pet green that was better then what could be snagged off the GTN for a resonable price and with slightly better stats. Good luck with your own choices. Also now that the planet coms are carried with you to the next and the next and so on planet for use they are even more useful then before. The fact that they cap at 50 max to carry at a time is a tad annoying but livable. Remember to spend a little as you go. Have 40 or more when you hit Makeb though... Trust me. Save you a little running arround. Not much but a little. As for the Makeb greens? I don't know... I've just begun that content myself.
  7. Yes you bloody well do! Republic Devils! Now get your act together and shove that vibroblade so far up his jacksey that his tonsils get a treat! Mine is code named Gene-genie. His likeness made up to look as much like DCI Gene Hunt form Life on Mar/Ashes to Ashes UK tellevision series as humanly possible with this game. I just wish there was a body size between 3 and 4... I went 4 to er on the side of humor.
  8. Meh... I wrote it when I was a little emotional. Still, I wish and hope we get enough points we can really mix the builds up more. I hate cookie cutter... Worse I hate content enforced cookie cutter builds. (This is when the content demands you take the final ability in a skill/powers tree in a game just to be viable as a contributing team member... meanwhile said game boasts allowing you to all be different... ) If you think that statement is about "cookies", then I'm just gonna sit down and have a good laugh with you over some oreos and milk and we'll agree to disagree or just not fully understand each other and... it will still be ok because we love the game. Friends? (offers handshake)
  9. Dag nab it! NOOOOO! Dont go WoW style with the Skill trees for level cap increases... Freakin can't belive this lost oportunity to NOT copy the freakin carrot on a string raising douches at Blizzard. Please DON'T create a new powers and then then place them 5 level andpoint picks up up up and raise the final carrot in the bloody skill trees! Leave them be for heavens sake! Do you know how much fun... how enjoayble 5 more points to sink intp the already existing trees would be? We would be able to actually diversify. Allow folks to take the that first game changing 3rd teir click or passive power in one of the other trees that actually makes a huttlicking difference in how you can play your character. Healers would be able to add more damage/tricks and Damage dealers will be able to have that first HoT heal if they want it... Tanks would get to add more damage and tricks.. Damage melee could add that first tank ability for better shield/armor for bloody emergency tanking... or whatever. The pure damage specs... well more damage and tricks but that all an expanded reach higher skill tree's gonna toss your way anyway. Can NOBODY ELSE See this? Please just make new powers trainable. G-Damn it! I thought they were going to be clever and just add the new stuff as trainable powers while letting us explore and expand into the other trees to make neat hybrids... What a missed freakin op cause you know damn well those top top tier powers are going to be "you can't even do this new content capably " withought those new powers and once again we're going to have to invest every fracking point just to reach them. Way to diversify.... Not... Bah! Humbug...
  10. Now see... On my poor Light side Inquisitor... Who did not want to look emo... I had to suffer with having to put up with EMO hoods on everything even though I didnt want them. For someone like me. The lack of " hoods up " is just fine. To the other hood complainer guy on here that said much the same as you but also added the icon should match... Did he expeirement first and learn that you can preview the armor to find out for sure. I most certainly did before investing Cartel Coins. Which basically represent real money. Even if mine were gained by sub and preorder bonus. I am aware each is "cash". Kinda cash. I am shocked and amazed though, none of the agent jakets with the shorter colars... the ones that dont look like garbage on a twilek with massive head tail clippage made it to the Cartel Shop. No I don't like the colar-less PINK/BIEGE one. Were talking a male, body size 3, dark blue, matcho if slightly lovably goofy scoundrel here. Plus Blue and Pink?! He's not in junior high school... he's a licenced Republic Privateer for cripes sake! ;p Please put up some more AGENT gear. Thanks. Oh... also both the smuggler and agent goggles would be nice. Sometimes I find myself wanting one or the other on either side.... and being forced to just the one kind. Also, Blessing to Bioware and the cartel market for my Sith Sorcerer to finally be able to run arround in something other then a skirt... and have a hood down robe with a shidge of armor on it for appearances. Very, very nice with the various pants avaible from the flying mission vendors and the balmoran hands and feet. Trust me... Try this look all. Cheers! PS: There is some gear that drops very early... a grey cris cross the chest vest sort of deal... very poor mans look, that looks pretty good on most charactersa and would really solve the "something simple with no embelishments" type of player. It's white/green gear. Actually there's more then one decent white and green look that there are no moddable versions of. Really quite a shame. The market or adding more synthweaving recipes could repair that neglect. Ta Ta
  11. Female Smuggler is probably best bet. Scoundrel likely.., rich enough to afford the stealth tech... or swipe it from Daddy and run off. Plus her mature yet mirthful voiceover and groin Kick! c'mon. easy.
  12. Very nice! It's kinda sad that I haven't been able to find "Imperial Navy Whites" as a moddable set. They seem to be all greenies.
  13. For them to NOT simply add 9 more points worth of fodder to get to some glorified NEW top power of revamped skill trees. If we simply have 9 bloody more points think of the fun we can have making mixed builds for all classes. To that end, alter early tree abilities so they they benifit any build/stance and don't require a particular stance/build/ or build specific power. This way we can have the top tier of one tree and get as far as 3rd tree in another or 2nd in two. Think on it. Actually... wouldn't even need to waste time on a max level hike to have this. Just give 10 points instead of 1 at level 10. Oh ok but for Inquisitor. I get it. Lightsaber USING abilities/attacks/defencives/stances for sorcerers. It's a glorified lightstick at the moment.... And very boring. Sages too. Time to "Swing away!" For both. A leap away version of Jedi/Warrior leaps. Disengage ability, that would also force retargeting by both user and targeted character. I would also say a roll away escape for Smugs and Agents. Assain 30 ft range for reclessness shoulld work with more then just force lighting. shorter general cooldown on Recklessness. Elemetal resistance somewhere, any tree. So long as it is accesseable within point allowances to tanks.
  14. Accounts with a 50 only... what the heck.... So time with alts. Live and test. Testing and actually REPORTING bugs/holes in the world etc... Stopping to enjoy the game story and content on multiple toons that the dev's put countless hours into... All apparently less important then some prat who bumrushes to 50 on one toon... (people who sent time leveling multi alts to 50 enjoying the game excluded and bravo to you for devoting even more time... though... not sure if that's a good thing lifestyle wise... nevermind) Wow... Just wow. Worse there are people with the NERVE to badmouth or belittle anyone with the Right minded thinking to actualy be ticked off/annoyed by this. When I first saw one of the posts after wondering where the email my guildmates were all yakin' about "Yay free month" had gotten to and came to investigate why not?... upon discover no email?!? Firs thread I found I was all set to type in "Well I feel for you I didn't get one either, I guess it was just random lottery for accounts." But oh no... oh no I discover it's worse then random lottery for active accounts. Which would at least be bearable as it's fair. It's a pat on the head for 50's "Oh please don't unsub look her's a cookie!" gift. Worst of all... Commutinity shame.... shameful I say! The elitist remarks that seem to think this style of rewarding accounts is just fine?!? Well I had to post... in that other thread and now apparently this one... Just plain and simple a Slap to my face and a slap to customer faces in general. Even yours though you don't know it, wait till the surprise bonus is for something YOU DIDN't do due to gameplay style... I am ashamed to play the game with self absorbed people like you. As for the company itself... Tanks Bioware. You are making the choice to give up when guild Wars 2 comes out a little easier. Mind you I don't mind paying for one game and theirs will be free. It was going to be this as I adore my alts. City of heroes kept me locked in for years and years with the ability to alt my brains out. didn't even have a 50 in that game till halfway thru year 2 of 7. GIVE ME good reason to stay with you and not just go back to VIP status in City of Heroes. This! this is not good reason. (wags finger.. in that you have been naughty manner.) Prettier graphics and sounds do not make a better game. Gameplay and customer service do. The rest is just eye and ear candy... I do so love the eye and ear candy mind you now... (hugs dev team) But I will not be treated as a 2nd class customer. (glowers at customer service team) Cheers all! I'm not unsubbing but I am vexed. Oh I am vexxed. ;p PS: I will not be treated as a child by self absorbed, clearly don't care about their fellow players forumites either. (glowers moresoe... at nobody in particular)
