  1. So, I have been trying to collect some purple crafting materials from diplomacy to create a purple item that I learned how to make, however, it seems that my level 1 diplomacy missions aren't giving blue and purple materials anymore. I assumed there were different levels of blue and purple materials just like there are with the regular materials so I thought I needed level 1 med materials like I had been getting. Can you not get blue or purple materials from non-orange missions? How about green and grey missions?
  2. You'd get more out of cunning than just power. But there are stims that boost both cunning and power which aren't bad to have.
  3. Depends on what you want to do really. Cunning is always great since you get a widely varied boost from cunning. Surge is good for +crit damage, crit is good as well. Alacrity for cast speeds. Aim for hard to hit mobs. The great thing about them is, other than the 15 second ones, they have no cooldown so you can switch buffs as you need them with the resuable ones. Great to have.
  4. I was thinking of switching my scoundrel to dirty fighting. Is it necessary for a scoundrel to melee to make dirty fighting work as opposed to a gunslinger at ranged? I will restart as a gunslinger if that's the case as I really didn't want to be melee. However, if this isn't the case I'll gladly give up a blaster for stealth since I primarly solo and PvE.
  5. You're right, I actually miscalculated my shielding chance. I thought the base was much much higher. Well, that won't work out quite as I like then. I'll have to tweak it a bit and see what I can do.
  6. Sorry, forgot to mention that it'd be the combustible cylinder. However, I didn't actually choose any talents that require the ion cylinder as I don't want the increased threat generation in groups. Though solo, if I wanted to I could easily switch to Ion gas cylinder and increase my shielding by another 15% which would improve some of my other abilities as procs would occur much more often at 37% shielding rate and increase my armor by 60% and my straight damage reduction by another 5%. It's nice to have options.
  7. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301GMbrb0bZMZfGbbzG0M.1 Above is a hybrid build I was considering. I was hoping to get a good mix of defense, offense, and heat management. The build focuses around the use of rocket punch, rail shot, and flame burst. It requires the use of a shield rather than a generator which some many not like due to the loss of power. However, in return the build get some pretty nice passive perks. The pros that I see are: +30% crit chance on rocket punch and flame sweep with Flame Shield. Not bad having a 40% or more crit chance on one of your primary attacks and one of your AoEs. Furthermore any attack that is shielded has a 50% chance to cooldown rocket punch. With other talents and not including any mods that might increase shield chance the build has a 22% chance to shield. Rocket punch and flame burst have a 45% and 30% chance to make the next rail shot you fire free as well. Which means a good chunk of the time rail shot will actually reduce your heat on a burning target rather than just halve the cost. For heat mitigation you have a 30 second reduction in vent heat to 90 seconds instead of 120, you have a 50% chance to vent 8 heat whenever you shield an attack, and you vent 8 heat anytime you use rail shot on a burning target. Any target that you use incendiary missle or flame burst on will have a 100% to be burning with this build. Survivability wise you get a 16% increase in your armor rating, you get shielding, you get a 1 minute reduction on kolto overload going from 3 to 2 minutes, you get a 4% damage reduction on anything hit by flame burst or flame sweep for 15 seconds, and your shield absorption rate is increased by 6%. The only downsides I can see with the build is that you are required to use a shield, you miss out on the extra damage on DoT damage on targets below 30% health, and you don't get thremal detenator. (Which I can live without) What I want to know is do you think the build with be viable and is there anyway to improve upon it?
  8. I was wondering if anyone else has had an instance where mods in an item have disappeared? I have three pairs of moddable pants and I've been swtiching them in and out to match the color schemes of my other armors (Yeah, I know sounds silly). Well, I looked at my pants and noticed there were no mods in them so I thought that I had modded the wrong pants and left them in my cargo hold. I went and looked at the other pants and they too had no mods in them. I don't know how they disappeared, but the only thing I can note is that I had crashed right before I noticed they were gone. Just wanted to see if anyone else had anything like this happen since I can't document with any certainty on how the dissappearance occured.
  9. Funny, the amount of people that actually decide not to play the game based on this will be miniscule. Out of those people that do quit, because of this a portion of them would have quit after the first few months like any other MMO. Your truth is pretty self contained to your subjectivity to tote it as a real truth. Silliness. Once everyone is actually playing no one will even care this happened.
  10. Well, there was this one guy who said he was mad and then I saw four more that said they were mad and then I saw three people say "This sucks, I'm out of here" and then you add them up and do some stuff. 80%
  11. If it makes you feel better the server I was playing on crashed and it's the only one down.
  12. Yay! There's an update on the launcher system alert that says they're already looking into the crash. Least we know someone's on it.
  13. Actually, this gives me some time to take care of things I've been neglecting today....like eating.
