  1. Thanks. I'd like to go ahead and add to this list. I remember reading a while back, that Star Wars Galaxies, had its own Player Housing. Maybe consider bringing that back. Since Lucas Arts is also one of the founders of this game, I could see that feature making a comeback. I never got to play SWG, and would be a neat feature to have.
  2. Having come from World of Warcraft, I don't mind these patches including a few fixes and a bunch of cartel items. The patches still add content to the game. But the main story stuff they are holding for the next expansion. And I see this system far more favorable than the other game since they like releasing features people never wanted, that breaks a ton of stuff with no real benefit, and then telling their customers "deal with it" and "You aren't playing the game the way we want you to play it". I think overall, Bioware is still superior to Blizzard. Heck Blizzard was literally deleting any and all feedback on the feature that broke tons of stuff and handing out bans to people who noticed and spoke up about the outright attempt to silence the community. Even if the accounts were frozen from cancellation, they were handing out bans. I'd rather a company be honest and respectful to their community, even if it is to add more stuff you have to buy with real world cash. This game is still well worth the subscription fee. This company and EA are still better than the so called number 1 MMO, which I see starting its nose dive off of their pedestal. This game is fun. It's got an amazing story unique for each class. Some fill in gaps for the other classes (Like when I played a sage, then played a knight which showed me just what all was really happening on the world of Tython). The customizable gear is fantastic. I'm no end game raider so I highly doubt I will be doing OPs, or HM FPs. My highest character right now is 36. And that's from a slow slow level from November 16th. I've made an alt of every race and class, some trying different advanced classes on. So while you might be upset at the company's outright greediness when it comes to the cartel market. At least they are honest. At least they still treat their customers with respect and compassion. At least very few bugs come with each patch, and the major ones are fixed pretty quickly (like the companions losing stats from their gear bug). And I do hope eventually, they fix the companion unify colors, and the big characters having a hard time with stairs. But overall, EA and Bioware have me as a mostly permanent customer now, while Activision-Blizzard has permanently lost me as a customer after 9 years of WoW.
  3. Yeah with each class having its own unique feel, and each character in the storyline you can set up to have a completely different personality from the last. Like for example with the smuggler, I've got 2 smugglers. One is my Cyborg Gunner. He is greedy, and will only do jobs if he is assured he will be paid. And then there is my twi'lek smuggler who I plan to make into a scoundrel. She gives off the attitude of not caring about what people want. She can get quite coarse and indifferent to others feelings. But under that exterior the will still do the right thing. Example is the mission where we had to go get that doctor who is taking care of orphans. She ended up pulling her gun on him to threaten him but once he made it clear he wasn't going without the kids, she gave up and went back to the person that hired her and admitted they need to get them kids. So even planets that were done before, will still be a new and interesting experience. Of course all of my republic characters lean to the light side. Just like my imperials will all be dark side. Just makes sense for me. But even with those straight and narrow paths I've given myself, I am still experiencing characters that have their own unique story even if they are a double of the class I already made.
  4. Yeah just last night, on my Jedi Sage, I completed Chapter 1. And starting chapter 2, I looked down at the clock, it was 2am. I got so engrossed in the story, I actually lost track of the time. No MMO has done that to me before. A single player game did it to me. The SIms 2 the first time I started playing. If anything, EA and Bioware have a winning ticket here. And going free to play, is only logical since all MMO's are entering the free to play market now. All except WoW. That's actually false about their forums. I can goto their general forum right now, and there's about 5 "I hate forced dailies" threads, and about 6 anti CRZ threads. And that's just on page 1 of their forums. But this game, it has everything I've been looking for in an MMO. I can take my time leveling, and experiencing some fantastic story. My sage I mentioned above, is level 32. I started that character on November 16th. And when I got enough of a preview the money that was going to WoW, is now going where it is more earned. EA and Bioware will be keeping me as a permanent subscriber. Even if I get 5 fifties. There's still so much to experience. But I doubt I will be getting that many level caps anytime soon. I still need to work on my crew skills. Raise my social level up. And in between all that, there will be RP.
  5. While I haven't reached end game yet, I have yet to see anything hardcore yet. Yeah there's going to be patches that interest me, and patches that don't. It's the nature of MMO's to give something to every play-style over time. The fact that Bioware is actually listening to their player base is a boon to the community. The fact they do hear our concerns and try to address them is a good thing. But hardcore? I don't really see anything hardcore in this game. Of course it is true I'm not looking for hardcore. I rolled on a Roleplay server. I'm an RPer. I also love storytelling, and this game has some really fantastic story to tell. I am sure as patches move along, the story will continue to be expanded. But my only suggestion to Bioware and EA. Never forget the foundation you have laid out for this game. Never look at your community as just a profit margin. Continue to work with your community. Listen to it. And interact. As long as Bioware continues listening and interacting positively, this MMO, while free to play, I can see lasting a very long time. Overall, there's nothing wrong with listening to the community. Trying to give everyone something. Like this patch added something for the flashpoint runners. Something for the pvpers, and of course something for people like myself in terms of fluff. In the end, the game is only as hardcore as you tell yourself it is. I always look at games from an RP perspective. Does it have roleplay support? Does the developers interact with their community? Does the game have amazing storytelling? Is the game easy to use (controls basically)? And most importantly; Could I see myself playing this game for years on end? To those questions, the answer is yes for me.
  6. Adding my credits in as well. I was unhappy in my last game. And since getting this new computer I am on, I am now able to play this wonderful game. It is a welcome change from the mess I left. Bioware, outstanding job. You've just earned a permanent subscriber. And Merry Christmas.
  7. I have to disagree with your analysis. I am new to this game, but I've come from World of Warcraft. That games design used to revolve around the community and people didn't have anything major to gripe about because the developers worked with their fan base. That is until recently. Blizzard has shifted their direction to only what they, the developers want and opting to talk down about their fans saying they aren't playing the game how they want it played, etc. With the release of the latest expansion of that game, this hard line has gotten worse. Every day tons of posts crop up about their end game being nothing but dailies. And the most extremely hated item is their new cross-realm zones that breaks more things than helps the communities. In fact it does nothing to help communities. And their developers have said publicly in interviews that they are being bullish about the cross-realm zones. And their response to too many dailies? They started gating story content behind doing dailies for reputations. Hence why I've come to this game. This games developers are taking a balanced approach. They aren't "simplifying" content. They have included something that appeals to a wide range of players including myself. I especially love the fact it is taking me quite some time to level up. For me, leveling isn't about how fast I can get to cap. It's about the journey. And the fact every class has such an amazing and unique storyline, on top of fun and immersive gameplay, is exactly what I have been looking for, for some time. Yeah there's kill x amount of bad guys quests, but because of the story, I don't even realize the quest is a kill x bad guys quest. So do the fans make an MMO? Absolutely! Without community, and developers willing to sit down, work with the community and get an idea of what the community actually wants, all you would end up with is a multi-player console game. Now should there be limitations? Of course. And I think Bioware has found that balance. I have yet to be disappointed by an EA title. And I am happy that I have a game to defect to from the mess World of Warcraft has become.
  8. I have to say, Bioware/EA, you've done an amazing job on this game. There's 2 things though I'd like to suggest to add more polish for roleplayers. I noticed in cantinas and the worlds in general, there is no interactable chairs/benches to actually sit on. The only interactable seating is on our space ship bridge. So why not turn some of them seatings we see in the world and cantinas into interactive objects we can actually sit in. Second suggestion is to change /sleep into an actual animation like the /sit. Have our characters actually lay down. Other than those 2 items, I think this game is fantastic.
  9. Thanks for the suggestion. I rolled on The Ebon Hawk. I found a great guild on republic side.
  10. Hi, I am new to this game. In fact I am downloading it now, and will be playing as a free player for now. I am also a heavy roleplayer that wants to get into RP on this game asap. But first I need a server. Ideally I'd want a server in the US, as English is my native language. I also want a server that has a lot of active RP. So a server with a heavy population of active roleplayers. I did try googling rp servers, but the one server suggested doesn't seem to have a server forum anymore. So I look forward to reading any suggestions.
