  1. Firstly, I'm not sure why you're complaining about facing your own faction in solo ranked, as that is by in large what happens consistently on most servers. Secondly, I think we all know what happened to solo queue on this server. Republic has a lower population, and there are a group of players that enjoy working the Elo system here. I'm not saying "OMG PUB Q SYNC" but it's just people working the queue. I'm not going to get into explaining how that works or why it happens but it breaks the queue on this server. So long as this persists we'll see this every Season moving forward in solo queue. You'll have good queue pops for the first few weeks and then nothing as people get tired of being farmed. Pot5's population has sort of tanked recently so it will not be able to be support the Elo whoring that's being common place here since Season 1. I used to be really frustrated by it, and get mad at the people gaming the system. But I've since calmed down about the issue. The fault is Bioware's for implementing such broken system for ranked PvP. I'm not sure why solo queue hasn't just been made cross faction yet, but this is what we have to deal with. The end result is that whatever faction has a majority of people in the queue will have this group of players q'ing on the opposite faction in order to maximize their chances of winning. The possibility of those people to have a more competent group are statistically higher with less people in the queue.
  2. Since patch 3.1.1 I can no longer clip my ravage early as I used to be able to do before. The third tick is landing later in the animation than it used to. It's coming at the very end of the animation now. Tip of the hat to Bolagrius on Pot5 for pointing it out to me as I had been playing rage and hadn't noticed it since the patch.
  3. This. There could be reasons that they were getting off abilities 1.5 times faster than you, but it wasn't their 2% extra alacrity causing this. Could be server latency, could be other factors. Just isn't possible unless alacrity is horribly broken somehow and I'm not seeing any evidence of this in my personal testing.
  4. To be honest, space PvE has been just wrecking me today. For years I tried to beat Star Fox as a kid, and when Swtor came out I knew my old nemesis had returned when I did "space combat" for the first time. I shouldn't take it out on you, it was unjustified.

  7. I've only been running one accuracy enhancement thus far, but I'm seeing enough misses in PvP even as rage where I'm thinking of putting some more stat points into it.
  8. Respectfully, I think you might be over-exaggerating the benefits of alacrity. In your example you seem to indicate that a healer can get three heals off in the time it takes for me to use two abilities provided the healer is using some amount of alacrity and I am not. This would indicate that the healer in that scenario would have upwards of 30% alacrity. From the small amount of testing I did, running 5 alacrity enhancements is only providing 5%ish, so I don't believe 30% is a realistic number. There may be something I'm missing here, perhaps I misunderstand how much alacrity affects the GCD. I'm assuming that even if the healer were running let's say 8% that would mean his GCD would be 1.5 - (1.5*.08) = 1.38. This means that it would take that haler 4.14 seconds to use 3 GCD's compared to me using 3 abilities in 4.5 seconds. This is of course in a vacuum with no server lag, no one is using any form of CC, no kiting or anything like that and I'm hitting my abilities precisely when the GCD is up. I also find it interesting that PvE dps guides on Dulfy.net for Rage is 3.0 prefer surge over alacrity for stat priority, and PvE has far more DPS up time than a PvP environment would. I'm not saying that it's definitive evidence, but it does add to my point. http://dulfy.net/2014/12/11/swtor-3-0-rage-juggernaut-dps-guide-by-artorias/ I didn't think alacrity changed the amount of rage generated by our abilities thus not really helping our resource generation in the same way it would let's say a sage/sorc or pt/commando. I understand that you'll be able to use rage generating abilities faster with more alacrity (maybe 5% faster) but again this is dependent on being able to stay on your target to use your abilities. This differs from a sorc/sage for instance in that they will always receive a passive buff to their resource pool as it's not dependent on ability activation. All this leads me to lean towards Surge being a better choice until the soft-cap over alacrity for Rage.
  9. Rage is a dark horse spec for Jugs right now. When played right, you're looking at some scary single target burst. Vengeance is still more effective in solo ranked due to having the AE dot spread and survivability advantage, but Rage can work as well.
  10. For Rage I'm still gearing rather old school with a majority of my stats in power and surge. There's a soft cap you'll reach so I have one enhancement with power and accuracy. The thing about alacrity for rage is that it doesn't help with our resource generation, and it's reliant on up time in order to be really effective. If your cooldowns are shorter but your stunned/out of range of your target when they come up, alacrity isn't providing any benefit. It might parse higher on a dummy, but dummy parses aren't an accurate representation of a PvP environment.

    Honestly force storm and its republic counter part seem to be causing immense amounts of video lag when used in Warzones and Arenas. Ive got a i7 5820k and a gtx 980 and it brings me to a crawl. Many of the people I play with are complaining of the same thing and on mid tier systems it seems to make the game almost unplayable for some. I'd love to see overall performance improved in PvP as Ive always thought it to be way below what other mmo's are able to do in terms of instance based PvP. However, this goes well beyond that. I'm not sure if it was always this way, but no one really used the ability on mass the way they no do now in 3.0. It doesn't really matter though we need to see this fixed as its ruining many peoples experience in PvP.
  12. I think it's better to use the impale before ravage if it's available. The cc immunity doesn't guarantee you your last tick on ravage anyway, and good players will counter it. I find that if people are going to blow their CC on you during unstoppable, they do it regardless of the ability you use (oh look it's a warrior leaping to me.. STUN IT!).

I've returned to Pot5 and am currently seeking a PvP-centric guild that meets the following criteria: 1) Posses a core player base that is genuinely good at PvP 2) Has a desire to participate in ranked 4's this season 3) Doesn't have Blees as a member 4) Mature atmosphere I don't consider myself to be the best PvP juggernaut out there, but I do feel that I'm a solid addition to any PvP guild. I really only play my Juggernaut (Obcise) but I'm proficient at every spec (although I tend to play DPS the most). I'm 33, with two young kids and a demanding and time consuming job in IT consulting. I get online for a few hours each night to unwind at the end of a usually busy and stressful day. My primary goal is to have fun while being competitive. I don't want to play with people who suck, but I also don't want to play with people who say "Bro" every third word. If you think that I would be a good fit for your guild, send me a tell in game or respond to this thread.
  15. It's not an urgent matter for me, I prefer to take my time and see who catches my eye in WZ's and arena. Once that happens I do my typical douche bag assessment, and if the douche bag quotient is low I approach the person about recruitment.
