  1. Stop, you are blatantly wrong. The changes to a SINGLE TREE for the sage would have to be changed. Sure your baseline ranged stuff would all be far less (as a matter of fact probably largely useless), but the TK tree could be used to be the ranged caster, the balance tree could be used to be the melee tree, and the seer tree can remain the heal tree. This is a complete logical fallacy to say they would have to completely nerf the whole class. The baseline stuff would become weaker, when you spec into your tree then what you choose in your tree becomes your stronger attacks as you have chosen a path. seer - Heals/utility TK - Ranged DPS/utility Balance - Melee DPS/utility it very much could work like that, they choose not to make it work like that.
  2. And yet they changed it once, clearly. I see no reason they can't change it again. I never understand why people act like change a class to what it was described to be is something that is astonishing. I didn't write the description, so why the shock and dismay that players wanted to play a class as it was described? Why is it far fetched to believe the company could not make the class what was described?
  3. Better melee ability doesn't always mean damage like you mouth breather's think it does. I have also specifically said not necessarily better damage, just make it worth pressing. DS casting a force wave at say 50% chance is worth pressing in situations. I never stated I wanted to stay in melee with this class, I said I wanted lightsabers and their associated strikes to be worth having and using. I already know there is no "paladin" in this game, so I understand that to play the sage I will be at ranged more than melee. I also understand that that does not mean I should not have any melee abilities (given the fact that I use a melee weapon) that are worth pressing at those times when it is useful. Right now I do not have any reason to even bind my melee attacks, I just want one that is interesting.
  4. so what is wrong with adding a %chance to proc force wave to DS? nothing? ok good. so yes you are the moron you completely missed that as a possibility.
  5. so you have many requirements to make it look cool... not actually be useful, but just look cool: 1) incap something 2) run into melee range before incap is off 3) cast tumult 4) cast ds 5) get back out of melee range (yea I added this part) lot of steps to look cool doing something that everyone swears the class should never do. OR they could just add something useful for the times you find something in your face that your DS does to help get you in a better position or proc something useful.
  6. way to go once again cherry picking a few words out of an entire post to try and make a point. All you look like is a narrowminded moron. it could still be the inferior choice from a damage stand point and do something that lets you get to the place you want to be for your better damage.
  7. pull your head out of your ***. Re-read what you highlighted and point to where I said it needed to do more damage. Point to where I said we needed it to be damage that made it worthwhile to press. You have a one track mind that cannot think outside of the box. It is possible to make a melee attack worthwhile to press without making it all about damage. In our case it might be that it has a snare potential or force regen (as suggested), etc.
  8. wrong, you are never better off pressing one of our melee attacks in melee range than one of our instant cast spells. period. I would like you to once again read that sentence you bolded in context, I said it doesn't do any melee DPS because of my first statement, not because you can't press a melee button, but because it is so clearly the inferior choice. I also (and I am going to highlight this many times so your pea brain stops cherry picking out of my statements to support your arguement) NEVER SAID THAT IMPROVING THE DAMAGE WAS THE ANSWER, I specifically said make it do something worth while.
  9. You're right, it doesn't. SO the closest I can come to that is a Sage. I never said it didn't do enough melee DPS. It doesn't do ANY at all. You get two attacks that are not even worth pressing after level like 15 or so. Even in melee range. What is wrong with wanting one of them to be worth pressing? I am not even necessarily saying ZOMG over 9000 damage, I am just saying worthwhile to press when melee range happens beyond level 15.
  10. try again, and read what I wrote carefully. I never asked for a melee class. I asked for a melee ability that did more than just tickle. Even if the damage still tickles, doing more than that making it useful for us in melee is what I (and I think) most are asking for. So NO I do not see that as a problem, nor do I see it as game breaking for us to have something useful in melee range other than dot and run. You again clearly can't read, I specifically said I wanted a single lightsaber wielding melee DPS which can do some small healing. Point me at that class. If sage is it, then make the lightsaber do something useful in melee range. period. I never once asked to be able to melee DPS, so your whole rant is pretty stupid.
  11. all you people that say I am wrong for expecting a melee/healing hybrid that uses a lightsaber (not a dual lightsaber) can direct me to which class that would be. ok, so then my question to you is: Why is one melee attack that is meaningful in use going to be such a game breaking idea for you? Is it because you want your way and don't want to ever have a use for being in melee range? I see no reason why there could not be a compromise that allows for interesting and useful melee use of our lightsaber if there are people that want to do that. What I am not saying is that it is in anyway mandatory for you to use said skill. You want to play a guy who carries a lightsaber for no reason, go for it. We want to play a guy that carries a lightsaber to use which does more than just tickle if there is a need. we already have a draw back for being in melee range of light armor, there is no reason we should not be able to do something useful if someone is in our face other than shield, root/snare, dot and run. Hell the answer could be that one of our melee strikes has X% chance of activating a snare/root.
  12. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/jedi_consular/sage/?build_id=1074#::f6e2f8ef2e4fe2f2e4fe5fef17 like so?
  13. Seems like I was looking at the balance tree wrong, I thought that would be the DPS tree. I wasn't sure where to put the last two points. After looking at the tele tree I see it looks more like. I will have to figure out where to go and reset the skill points and get out of the balance tree. http://db.darthhater.com/skill_calc/jedi_consular/sage/?build_id=1074#::f6ef5ef3ef2e7f2e4f2e4fdf17 that is what I am looking at now.
  14. It seems like I get invited to a group and they automatically assume that because I went sage I intend to heal. I came from that other game and played a paladin, before that I played a lot of other MMO's and all of them I played a paladin. In EQ1 specifically I appreciated the ability of the paladin to offheal if needed and DPS ok. Is that possible with the Sage? I have looked at builds and I was looking at 8/0/31 build for my final to DPS with.
