  1. Ok. This seemed to work. For now. Fricking Bioware... must be owned by SOE, now.
  2. Has there been a fix for this yet? Some of us have been paying customers since launch. This is rather ridiculous that we suddenly cannot even get past the launcher without the game crashing. Running Win 7 64, Nvidia GTX 1660, all drivers up to date. The game worked great prior to patch. Now it won't load. What's the fix, Bioware?
  3. I'll answer this one. Because.... when one decides to transfer a character, one normally doesn't run to the forums to make sure all is Okey Dokey. We just get the CCs and go to our NON-forum "MySWTOR" page, to begin the process. Then we see the greyed out message. It's not like the toon transfer service goes down often. Thus, many of us don't think to Check first. However, *turns gaze toward Bioware* a Notice, ON the Store page somewhere, About transfers being down, might be a wise and Responsible notion. So we don't Waste our money on coins for transfers, while You decide to have a little Outage at the office. Just a suggestion.... o.O Perhaps a refund is in order? Or a buy one transfer, get one free deal? Or a bonus cartel coin deposit? Something other than ignoring us? Just another suggestion...
  4. Do we have a projected ETA on when transfers will be available again?
  5. 1. Chose this section for a reason. 2. Some of the other members of XFOR merged. The founding members have come back to rebuild the guild.
  6. Greetings. I'd like to announce the rebuild of XFOR. We've been gone for awhile, but have returned to Shadowlands to start the guild anew, from scratch. This means we do not yet have our guildship, but will in time. We will be looking towards Ops teams, PvP events, Strongholds, and the rest. Right now, we're starting with the basics. You. We have open recruitment going on, and you can find our app process at http://xfor.enjin.com Please be sure to read our rules/guidelines before applying, and you must be at least 18 years of age. More about us - XFOR is a casual, social guild looking to forge an internet gaming family of close friends and mature players, who enjoy gaming, laughing, relaxing, and socializing. We have members who are highly educated, have professional careers, military backgrounds, men, women, varied ethnicities, spiritual beliefs and positions, political persuasions, and so on. We are accepting of all walks of life, but ask that our members respect the lifestyles of others. We do not discriminate. We will not tolerate discrimination. We are seeking diversity and good-natured people to join us. Gamers from any walk of life. All we ask is that you be respectful and drama-free. And have at least a passing fondness for the Star Wars verse, as well as SciFi in general. If you feel you might find a home here, we are happy to meet you and look forward to getting to know you. Cheers.
  7. Champing is a dead word in the English language today, and rarely seen outside of this phrase. Chomping is also correct, due to contemporization of the word, as well as the phrase. Both are correct. One is old school, the other is modern. Like the difference between colour and color. Both are correct. As for what Eric stated en toto... I am glad they are FINALLY giving us more of a time frame, for something that Should have been available right off the bat. I hope they keep it simple. $25 per character transfer seems to be the accepted standard model. This would be a good choice, as it would prevent a sudden lopsided flood of character drain on any given server. With the exception of guild transfers, it seems most of us really only have 1 - 4 toons we would like to transfer. As for the cartel nonsense, I have to say I am (as a subber since launch) highly disappointed in the double jeopardy purchase system, as well. It is bad business, Eric, to charge a subscription for a service and then charge additionally for basic things in that service that should come with it. If you plan to piece part all additional items and content for this game, then someone at Bioware needs to announce it (and perhaps it was... but I never came across it) and let us all know, this month, that from here on out, our subscription only gives us a few basic perks and will not account for anything new, as far as content, species additions, cosmetics, transfers, name changes, etc., etc. This is like going into a restaurant and finding out your $15 pays for the dinner plate and a pickle... but the burger, fries, drink, napkin, and trip to the restroom are all extra. Tells us up front. No more surprises. No more secrets.
  8. This seriously needs to be an available service. And not one sitting on the back-burner. It's one of the perpetually hottest topics on the forums, one of the most asked for features, and one that is available in virtually any other MMO. If they are worried about server population drains, then I suggest limiting the transfers to, say, one a month? One every two months? From each account. Just give us the ability to bring over our high level toons we started on (now) non-existent servers to the servers we found good guilds and compatible players on. Charge $50 a transfer if money is the issue. Just make it happen, please. And stop with the text book answers and vague timelines for this service.
  9. Yeah, add my voice to the herd. This update means squat if there are not enough people left to form groups. http://scottishguard.wordpress.com/2008/07/06/hello-world
  10. A list of things that would make this game flourish - intended for the Devs to read... if they haven't all been laid off (my sympathies and best wishes) http://scottishguard.wordpress.com/2008/07/06/hello-world
  11. I would like to continue this rant and back up my fellow Cybertech. 95% of my trade income comes from Grade 4 and Grade 6 Spaceship Ugrades. Well... until this Legacy Update, that is. I have sold one item since. Dozens listed. One sold. Perhaps the Devs do not realize that the ship parts are the big seller for Cybertechs. It's hard to make a living selling mods, armorings, droid parts, grenades... just not high market value for the cost of production. But Ship parts... those are our golden eggs. And now they have been effectively wiped from the GTN by people who don't know they can specifically search the word "beam" or "shield" or "missile" or "armor". And do you know what the kicker is? I just hit 400 in Cybertech, Scavenging, and Underworld 2 weeks before this GTN screw up. Nice reward. Thanx. (rant paused)
  12. Well... now I don't know What build to use. I mostly PVE, but will look at getting into PVP and Ops when I hit 50. I will admit, I am more of a button masher than a chess player. What build will allow me to kill quickest (DoTs or direct DPS)?
  13. Can you please illustrate the build? List a link to a screenshot or mapped out at Torhead? Thanx!
