  1. Yes it worked. It takes ages because it basically downloads everything there is to download in launcher and they seem to throttle that download. I left it overnight and when I got back it was all downloaded and I now play without any quickplay nonsense.
  2. OK, I am in completely same situation as you and did all the above. Now, I found one more tip: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=673714 Basically I did what the very first reply said to do and seems now game is downloading all assets there are directly in Launcher, I don't really know if this will fix it, but it looks good so far, so maybe it will do it.
  3. Good stuff, people. Thanks a lot! I heard another thing here - apparently you get bonuses for 10k affection on companions, does it mean that you now have to grind 10k affection on all god knows how many companions in game??
  4. Hey guys, I played quite a bit back in the good old days when SWTOR was all new and exciting. I got here a level 50 Sniper and I did a lot of PvP back then, so I have a full set of level 140 Battlemaster Gear with custom mods and Biochem/Diplomacy/Bioanalysis maxed to 400. I'm currently located at the Progenitor EU server, character name is Zelas. I'd like to get some updates on what's new since the first Rakghoul horror themed instance update (was there even second?) Here are the questions: ________________ PvE/Questing: 1. The new LFG tool, is it working good and reliable? 2. What are the current level 55 instance and in which order should I try to get to them? 3. What are the existing instance modes and what is the acceptable entry gear level for flashpoints or hard mode instances if there are any? 4. Any useful quests/dailies to grind at 55? ________________ PvP: 5. Bolster at 55 - what's the deal with this? Does it mean that you can basically just grind PvE and your gear will still be good for PvP overall? How does it work? 6. Premades - it was really frustrating back then, are there still premades getting matched against riff raff solo guys matches? Is there any solo queue implemented? What is the chance for the solo guy to get a good enjoyable game nowadays? 7. Are there any new PvP activities except for the usual warzones and Ilum? Any new open world PvP locations? 8. What's the status on Ilum? Is it still pretty useless? 9. What amount of expertise is considered to be a decent entry level amount? 10. How does the balance look? Back in the day I played MM Sniper to the point where I could kill just about anything with Operatives being the only real pain in the *** and tanks generally being a huge waste of time. How is it now? ________________ Cartel Coins and Currency 11. I quit before it went live, now I came back and I have 2200 Cartel Coins to spend, is there anything which you consider to be very useful there to get me back on track faster? For example selling items from there on GCN for credits and stuff or just some equipment or boosts which will help me get geared fasted? 12. I got 800k credits, I'm sure it's not much, but it is something, what should I do with that to get myself in shape faster? Any items of interest to buy? Now, I realize that's a lot of questions, so just feel free to answer whatever you see fit, obviously. You are not working for me and stuff Thanks!
  5. I think they need any adjustments, I can sympathize with all the struggle with interrupts and getting the shorter end of the stick with CC, but on the other hand they can be damn sturdy. Thus I think some trade-off is in order, for example making your bubble 1 min CD with half duration, but also built-in interrupt immunity, that would be a good trade-off for Arsenal. You would have your survivability CD more readily available and gain a way to ward against interrupts, on the other hand there won't be this ridiculous 12 sec tanking phase.
  6. There is plenty kiting opportunities, knockbacks are a fantastic kiting tool, when used right and SWTOR is plagued with those, you can say the reason there is so much gap closers around is pretty much the fact that there is a lot of gap openers to begin with. Besides that, there are ways to block charge, take Snipers, you can basically root a guy for up to 10 seconds straight with Cover Pulse and subsequent Leg Shot and it still won't fill resolve, so you got one more CC spare. In Huttball - Cover Pulse + entering cover often leaves a melee helplessly running away since he won't be able to charge back. Kiting here is a bit different, with knockbacks you don't necessarily have to drag a guy half a Warzone to do your worst.
  7. Seeing you think Orbital Strike is only good for doors just shows your skill level. Orbital Strike is amazing anti-melee tool and it can be chained into an insane starter burst too, when you chain it with CC and Let Shot. Also it is very convenient that you can't be jumped and pulled in cover and with entrench, people basically can't do **** about it, except going a long way up to the top ramp, while you and your team nukes and cc their face. You think that Snipers are in WZ 1v8 - I assure you, it is not the case. You keep invoking this "if you face a good team" argument, but you know what, I run in good teams too and trust me getting to me through my premade buddies is hell and staying there is even worse. Reminds me of a recent 2v5 standoff in Huttball near the enemy healing power-up after scoring... that was fun, as a side note Orbital Strike totally annihilated there. BTW, if you happen to have awareness issues - go and update your ini file with a camera distance line, you can remove camera zoom out restriction nicely.
  8. Nothing odd about it, it would simply be totally overpowered. My highest Ambush post-nerf was 6.4k, with that talent - it would be over 8k. That would be totally broken, especially considering that ExProbe and Snapshot Snipe hit at the same moment on top of that.
  9. He is right and you are wrong, as simple as that... When you compare our death count average to most other WZ participants - we are sure as hell not a free prey there. In between all the CC, range and defensive abilities we are a huge pain in the *** to kill for all the damage we do.
  10. If a healer is totally prepared for you only it will be a bit of a struggle, otherwise it is somewhat easy except for maybe Merc healers who are frikkin' indestructible. Sorcs drop dead if you pull out a good burst and then CC and interrupt their attempts to heal and run away. Ops aren't a big deal either, they do have a good mobility, but other than that they are pretty squishy as well. Now Merc healers are a whole another story, the trouble starts when they decide to pop their bubble and start spamming themselves with heals... Just can't DPS through that alone, really.
  11. Mercs are nowhere near Snipers when it comes to damage, since they are too easy to lockdown - the arsenal ones that is. Interrupt Tracer Missile and a Merc has to fall back on secondary attacks that are both weapon damage and are outright weak. Seeing melee having 8 sec CD interrupts with option to spec into 6 sec CD and adding to it the fact that everyone, except Mercs, ironically, has interrupt - it is certainly not a case of a "not a big deal", as some people claim. There is a reason why you see more and more Pyrotech Mercs around and it is exactly because Arsenal is simply not viable as soon as you meet a team that knows what the f they are doing.

    Marauder vs Assassin

Assassins take the cake, unless you are running with a good support, in which case Maras destroy.
  13. Don't worry, we, Snipers, are covering for you, our lesser brothers, with our awesome rifle running animations. Muha muhahahaaa
  14. Those who have it, don't have range... Grand exception - Sorcs, which are about the easiest prey for a Sniper to begin with. We also happen to have quite an awesome selection of CC, toss in such fantastic stuff as Entrench and Diversion and you have all the tools to outplay people.
