  1. For me personally this wasn't ever going to be a game to play for longer than a year, it has served though in the short term. At the end of the day you have to look at how the game is built and therefore how it can be updated, unfortunately the only method for Bioware to add new content is by Bolting On! adding instances that you progress onto now you are finished with the ones before. it lacks imagination and unfortunately can not be generated at a rate to appease the majority of the populace. The linear leveling experience does not help as well, particularly in regard to holding "world/galaxy Events" and other types of open world content.

    Hutball Hacks??

because its cropping up on different servers... in different matches... if it was the same premade repeatedly doing it then it would be seen as something that could be replicated but since the crux of it seems to be killing someone at a certain point and the ball going to a closest player who is behind the line allowing a double score it appears that its an unfortunate bug that just needs highlighting (hence OP's post) and left to the devs to sort out. its not game breakings its unfortunate.
  3. What a nice refreshing perspective, ignore the guy with his orange text based comments, whilst there are some negatives its not all doom and gloom the game is a mixed bag. one thing that is cropping up in this posts comments and others is the method of storytelling and the devices that dictate your journey from 1-50. When comparing to other titles no one ever refers to the story based leveling in Lord of the Rings Online. Personally I found that game at launch to be one of the best for delivering what it said on the tin! It gave you middle earth and let you be part of the books with engaging book based quests that you could intersperse with other elements. It has unfortunately changed a fair bit now with the free to play ness but at the initial launch I thoroughly enjoyed it. Back on topic, when it comes to the voice acting, it is wasted, the device that bioware uses to tell the stories in there games is now getting very very dated. (Cut scene, conversation wheel) They need to move away from this and carry the story and dialogue into the action, a bit like the maelstrom prison flash point does to a small extent.
  4. I'm half way through playing as a vanguard on what has become my new favourite class, it is fast paced very active gameplay which offers the potential to DPS and support your group. I have absolutely loved PVP so far, you have a lot of utility. The close ranged nature is actually fantastic as you still have a lot of mid range attacks making you not as suceptible to kiting as melee. If you want a more challenging class I'd go vanguard, The commando is essentially a turret, it can churn out dps sure but with the vanguard you can do that (and compete with the commando) as well as shielding your group mates, charging opponents and harpooning them (great for huttball). I'd recommend looking at the vanguard forum sticky for Taugrims "iron fist" build and pvp video's its what made me make my decision.
  5. Its not 100% the dumbest thing ever, one of the issues is the mmo infatuation with having a class built around stealth, burst damage and stuns/cc. The unfortunate reasoning is that either you have a class that can get off enough burst damage to kill someone in an attack or fail and retreat and heal up Or you end up with a class unable to kill anyone in group pvp and therefore useless and classes as underpowered. It is too much of a headache to balance. Lord of the Rings had the burglar which in my opinion is the best class in an mmo for sheer ingenuity. Having stealth work around debuffs and group benefits with some initial damage but not in a true burst sense just makes so much sense. Warhammer online offered up the opposite case for stealth classes where the Witch Elf/Witch hunter tottered on the balance see saw from one extreme to the other.
  6. I bet Milliways is brilliant at parties!!! unfortunately the laugh this got from me was slightly nervous, I'm afraid I don't like shooting between the eyes comedy that much.
  7. no worries bro I always shoot a hot wad of buff all over random friendlies I just can't help myself
  8. Personally I experience a very good fps rate during gameplay. however It does worry me seeing the drop off from 115-120 fps Questing > 70fps Fleet > 40-50fps Warzones >20-25 fps Ilum. I am sure there is plenty that Bioware can do to improve the areas with a high density of other player characters. I was actually shocked at the difference my recent upgrade made to swtor, it is a lot more resource demanding for the quality of visuals than it should be (based on comparison to other mmo's and other pc titles)
  9. With the increasing popularity of PVP will there be a system implemented to track player vs player kill/death ratios and other such stats, similar to those available in Warhammer Online?
  10. My issue with factions is that the end game ends up being about common enemies between the two and less about fighting the other faction. If you have two warring sides every aspect of the game should focus on there conflicts. I can see the reasons developers always go the route of common enemies for game updates but frankly doing something because its easier isn't always the best reason. (I'm aware of the flashpoint story based examples that we currently have but when you look at the "leaked" patch note information about the planned content its all common threat stuff)
  11. Field tech gear is only for the set bonus, for other items you use enforcer as well.
  12. god they should have just called your starting class "pre-classes" and your advanced class "Classes" so that people could get that what you become at level 10 is a whole completely seperate class. Dual specs are fine with me, great to have a dedicated pvp build and pve.
  13. With his clear level advantage I think the most sage like advice I could give is "get under the stairs" or what I mean by that, use the maps advantage points as best you can. stay at max range, stay at the edge of combat and even wait out a good 10 seconds at the start of matches for everyone else to pile in. If your sharpshooter, reapply your ballistic dampeners, even with ranged opponents get up and reapply your cover, you should have an instant charged burst at level 30 (I think) so the time lost dpsing is worth it for the protection.
  14. I'd been considering this, but I tend to second guess them pretty well in exposing them then hunkering down before they throw there grenade. the thing about the leg shot talent is the 1.5 seconds per point never seems like a life or death, but I appreciate the significance for huttball
  15. voidstar? deactivate Sprint, press crouch fixed reactivate sprint.
