Where do I get a fresh copy of the Launcher please?

The logs just say "Crash Detected - sending Dump" I checked the logs after running LauncherDiag but did not find anything to explain the crashes.

I have been playing on SW:TOR for some years on the same PC when it was running Windows 8. Recently, in order to fix an issue with another game (The Sims 4) I updated the PC from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. This was not a reinstall, just the offered upgrade from 8 to 8.1. Now it seems that SW:TOR will not load. No errors - just the normal UAC prompt and then nothing. Any help please? I tried running as Admin but no difference to the result.

I tried the clothing change as suggested. Brilliant!! Now she appears to be wearing the top I like but is actually using a less attractive but more powerful item. Oddly enough, the preferred top still remains in my Inventory - so I will have to be careful not to sell it

Incidentally, the group quests don't seem to work any more. Spent ages in the group finder without finding any. Also tried the other group option and we were eventually in a group with 3 DPS and a Healer. (Originally 4 DPS). We got to the Boss and we could not survive it. With no Tank to hold aggro, we all got killed very quickly. The Healer either couldn't reach us or also got killed due to not having a Tank. I am guessing the number of players on the server is now so low that it never finds enough for a group - or they are all maxed out and doing quests far higher than mere mortals can survive

Wow!! Thanks. I will give that a try. I tried buying a Dancer's Top (basically a bikini top) and adding the mod and other components into that. Eventually, she was very slightly better off than with her current gear. However, it was not the appearance I wanted. If I can use whatever is the best outfit she has and have it still look like the preferred outfit that will be great I am now doing some other quests on various worlds - Hoth at present - to upgrade my gear and level. Slow going but the blue rewards are useful.

I am still loving my Sith Assassin, although she is now stuck on Voss. Level 34 trying to kill a level 37 Elite. Can barely damage the enemy before the Companion dies and then she dies as well. Need to do a few more quests and try again. One question. At some point she was given a new robe. This was effectively a crop-top and a skirt. Looked really cool. Unfortunately, she has now had to move on to stronger clothing with the projecting epaulettes - which I think look stupid. Does anyone know if there is a customisable light armour robe available like the crop-top model please? Then I could revert to that look and update it as she levels up. Shame we don't have glamouring like Final Fantasy XIV

Coming back after several years, I found the Quickslot bars have many blank spaces on all my maxed characters, so I tried a new level 65 character and didn't enjoy that. Therefore I tried a new level 1 and am loving it again. I chose a Sith Assassin (Deception). I also used to enjoy Agent, Smuggler, and Trooper - so might try one of those next The game seems so much easier now than I recall. Evidently, like WOW and FF XIV, they have removed some of the abilities (quickslot blanks) and dumbed down the difficulty plus increased the XP rewards

I have just restarted playing with a Sith Assassin. I am trying my best to be "Dark" and Evil, but the indicator still keeps saying that Light Side is winning. It seems I have to kill something or be evil again every few minutes to stay Dark. If I am travelling or doing something that does not involve a choice it seems the Dark side wears off and I go Light again. Why does it do that?

Anyone know if a MacBook Pro could handle playing SW:TOR in Boot camp please? My MacBook Pro is a 2012 non-retina. The last one with the DVD drive and user-upgradable. It is quite a large download just to test it

Good advice. I just did exactly that. I have a number of maxed out characters, but when I returned after a couple of years, they all have blank slots in the quickslot bar - which I assume is because some abilities have been removed. So to start with I created a new level 1 character and played that. She is now on Hoth and I am absolutely loving the game again. Trying my best to remain evil with a Sith Assassin, which is not in my nature. She keeps choosing a "light" option instead of the mean and evil one. Great fun. In due course I may go back to the other characters and sort out their quickslot bars. I have maxed 5 out of 8 of the classes on one server, so I don't want to lose that

Same thing. Luckily my next Subscription payment isn't due until the 5th May, so I still have time to cancel. Pity - once again a great game is let down by poor service when patching I assume nobody from EA is prepared to offer any support?

Thanks. I assumed the pairs of Classes listed would be the two Advanced Classes for the same Base Class. I knew the Sniper uses a Sniper Rifle - I assumed all of them were some kind of blaster, rather than a real weapon using bullets Incidentally, that might explain why I like those two Classes - because they are so similar

Why is this part of the Forum for Gunslinger/Sniper? I thought Gunslinger was one of the Advanced Classes for Smuggler and Sniper one from Imperial Agent? One uses Blaster Pistols and the other a Blaster Rifle. One is Republic and the other is Empire. I don't see the connection

With my Jedi Sentinel, I set Kira to DPS and then she kept the droid busy whilst I moved between its legs and stood behind it. For some reason its laser did not instakill Kira. Fairly easy after that.
