  1. I heard that rumor as well, however I never bothered to test it. Thanks for confirming, I'm mildly upset by this. I'm surprised I saw nothing for this in 1.2's patch notes. Hopefully a dev will read this and respond. I'd be incredibly surprised if they're not already aware of this...
  2. It's probably because there are so many straight up crit/damage talents in the first few tiers of Shield and Tactics. Most people will choose them, which is probably what I will do. I just struggle with choosing which crit/damage talents are most useful. I'm predicting the aim percent increase talent will prove to be more valuable with higher gear levels. I'll keep checking back on this thread to see if anyone confirms my suspicion. As for Rapid Recharge I've decided the same, it's definitely personal preference.
  3. Interesting, I never considered the Static Field talent. I suppose I'll look into that one if my survivability is horrible. My current assault tree looks similar to yours, aside from Rapid Reload at the moment.
  4. Plasma Grenade? I know of Cyro, Sticky, and Assault Plastique... Thanks for the links, I'll re-evaluate my choices in the assault tree. But first... You don't find the 100% chance to trigger plasma's dot from your Ion Pulse necessary? Is the Endurance boost that much more useful? Or why not pick up the increased stealth detection, higher damage mitigation, and shorter CD on our "flare"? I can't remember the name, I haven't learned it yet.
  5. I'm messing around with the Assault spec and I was wondering what to spend my last few points in, and I'm hoping to start up a debate on what to choose. I have three experiments so far, but by no means are they my only considerations. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMZMcZfhMrdhGMs.1 http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801hMhZ0MZfhMrdhGMs.1 http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#801bMZMsZfhMrdhGMs.1 The last link is by far the most... clunky, in my opinion. HIGHLIGHT: Which secondary tree do I benefit from the most as Assault spec? Shield until I grab the Aim stat increase (perhaps when I have better gear this scales better?) or is it more logical to balance with the first tiers of Shield and Tactics? Or more in Tactics than in Shield? Tactics offers more critical chance enhancements (as well as armor pen for HIB), while Shield offers raw damage. Also, in the Assault tree I chose Degauss and Reflexive Shield. This is mostly a personal preference, but am I losing out significantly by not grabbing Parallactic Combat Stims, Rapid Recharge, or Adrenaline Fueled? This is probably a preferential choice, but I'd love some input. Thanks in advance for any opinions shared! EDIT: Oh! It's also worth mentioning this is with PvP as my primary concern.
  6. With the 1.2 changes to Warzone Commendations and gear costs... what will be the purpose of Mercenary Commendations? While I'm at it, what about Centurion, Champion, and Battlemaster? Will they just disappear or will I be refunded in some way? I'm just curious. I had gotten in a habit of stocking up 1k Mercenary Commendations on my alts. Does anyone know? Perhaps I'll post this on the PTS forums as well... It'll probably get removed, though.
  7. Yes I have it - just keep reading. I just looked through the list of Avatars three times and didn't see it. I see this meaning one of two things... 1) The Avatars listed below EXCLUDE the already selected Avatar. OR 2) I have an Avatar people can no longer select (unless BioWare takes it from me... for whatever reason). I personally hope it's the second, and for that very reason I am refraining from checking this myself. The first makes sense though and I'll feel slightly dumb for asking this but I'll get over it. I'm just curious, so if it bothers anyone else... Please check for me.
  8. Hmmm, I'll have to double check tomorrow, but I believe Force Camo cannot be broken by damage, regardless of Force Fade. When I first got the ability I remember it not breaking stealth when dots ticked on me and I thought it was cool (that was without the Force Fade talent). Also I definitely just quoted you in another thread. Just some misunderstanding in the Riposte thread.
  9. Ah Lightzzoutt you're the person I was asking earlier today, I'm not sure you understood my question. You said earlier that you should never use the "default ability", which leads me to think you're talking about "Strike" but surely I must be mistaken because when Zealous Strike is on CD and you need Focus you have to Strike... unless you are able to use all your abilities without needing it? I'm aware you can leap for focus but still... I end up using Strike a fair amount.
  10. Mal I'm not sure why you quoted my post, because the above post you made doesn't answer what I was asking haha. Previously someone made a statement that using the "default ability" is a mistake and he was very vague about it. I was wondering if he meant the "Strike" ability, which I believe is something you should be using to build up focus during down time. I was asking for clarification on what he meant.
  11. Thanks Valastia, so far I have exactly that except only 1 point in close quarters. I'm going to keep Force Fade for now and if I find charging is close quarters too cumbersome I'll swap it out and have that single extra point like you do. I can't figure out which you chose either, with only one point that final choice is hard. I'd probably drop it in either Force Fade for 50% damage mitigation or Jedi Crusader because the 50% chance for it to proc every 3 seconds is fairly reasonable. I seriously appreciate the feedback.
  12. I honestly wasn't much of a fan of Jedi Crusader either before I started looking online and it seemed a lot of people had it, but you do have a point. I could drop that, max out Duel Wield Mastery, and pick up Defensive Rolls as I have my spec now. As for your argument on Close Quarters... Again I see your point, but I rarely have a problem interrupting those casts. I'm level 45 at the moment and have many more close calls on interrupts to experience in the future, if it gets bad enough I'll reconsider. Thanks for your thoughts!
  13. So from the feedback I've gotten so far Defensive Roll has caught my attention, I guess I'll once again have to consider dropping Force Fade for Focused Pursuit. I appreciate the thoughts so far.
