  1. That was the change... pre-patch, the icon was darkened while the line retreated, then became recolored at the end. Now it's recolored as it retreats.
  2. I think this is only the case if you've talented Force Clap... Force Leap untalented doesn't stun it just immobilizes (so you can use Opportune Strike, but not Pommel Strike, and Force Sweep and Blade Storm stipulate they don't work on strongs. Hilt Strike and the non-channeling Force Stasis are also Defense talents, so for non-Defense Guardians, this wouldn't work.
  3. There's been instances where the mob is against a wall and you force push them and they fall right at your feet. I've seen Pommel Strike light up, but wasn't ever quick enough on the draw. Still, I doubt that was an intended situational use for Pommel Strike.
  4. Just thinking out loud here... want to make sure I understand these abilities correctly: Pommel Strike Bashes the target, dealing 3892 - 4045 kinetic damage to weak and standard targets, and 2839 - 2992 kinetic damage to strong targets. Only usable on incapacitated targets. (CD - 45sec) Opportune Strike Punches the target, dealing 1902 - 1964 kinetic damage to weak and standard targets, and 1269 - 1331 kinetic damage to strong targets. Only usable on slowed or immobilized targets. (CD - 15sec) Tooltips from Torhead ---------------------------- So I play a Focus Guardian. I find it difficult to work Opportune & Pommel Strikes into my rotations b/c of their very situational requirements and my lack of utility to set them up for use. Pommel Strike is only usable on incapacitated targets, which means that I have to use Force Sweep or Blade Storm to stun (I'm only lvl 40, so I haven't gotten Awe yet to know if that meets the requirement -- I'd assume it does). However, BS and FS only stuns weak and normal enemies, making Pommel Strike useless against Strongs, Elites, and in PVP (again, unless Awe helps, but even then it would only be useable once every 60s). Also, it's really only useable after BS, unless you are really quick on the button mashing after a FS. I've found that after a FS, if you hesitate even a bit the animation won't complete for Pommel Strike. Opportune Strike is useable only on slowed or immobilized targets, which means I have to use Freezing Force (no cd, no dmg) or talent for Force Exhaustion (21s cd). Sentinels get Leg Slash which doesn't have a cooldown, but deals dmg as well as slowing, so Opportune Strike becomes viable. I'd assume it is just as viable after you get Force Exhaustion in the Focus Talent Tree. In both of these situations, I'm using my high dmg abilities to set up these other high dmg abilities predominantly on the easiest mobs in the game. Opportune Strike is much more useful, since Freezing Force/Force Exhaustion/Leg Slash don't stipulate what type of mobs the slow works on. TLDR -- It seems that Focus Guardians can use Opportune Strike effectively only with Force Exhaustion against any mob/player, however Pommel Strike is limited to trash (except maybe with Awe, which still severely limits its use). Regardless, it seems that two of our strongest attacks are only usable after our other strongest attacks, and predominantly only useable on the weakest mobs and mostly useless in PVP. Additionally, it seems that BW could have lumped these two skills along with Hilt Strike in the Defense tree into one skill. Make the skill work on slowed, immobilized, and incapped enemies, then make the Defense tree talent add a stun to it. Rather than having 2 skills (or 3 if you're a defense Guardian), you've only got 1 that does all the same things. If I'm not understanding something correctly, I'd sure like some advice on how to play the class better.
