  1. Isn't it the point of "normal" content to be tuned to solo+companions? Heroics ARE the group-tuned content. That is how it is everywhere.
  2. Hello JC. I'm here looking for a guild for my lonely little Sith Assassin to join. About Me I started playing SW:TOR when it first came out. Leveled my Sith to the low 40's specced primarily to tank, but having only been in one or two FP's (no group finder back then). Anyway I got tired of experience and dropped the game. Fast forward to a week or two ago my nine yer old decided on his own to reinstall the game on my PC. And since I knew the game had gone F2P I decided to check things out. And of course I've gotten sucked back in. I've dumped the tank spec for something a bit more damage dealing, and have been enjoying myself. Just made level 50 last night. I'm so new to 50 I haven't found the time to train I've enjoyed a variety of MMO's over the years. Everything from Warcraft to Star Trek to Tera Rising. I've enjoyed end-game raiding but have never been a top-level progression raider. If anything I would characterize myself as reliable and intelligent in my game play. What I'm Looking For I'd like to join a mature (adult) guild that offers a casual atmosphere and is more PVE centered than PVP (I have this love/hate relationship with PVP). Someplace lowby-alt friendly would be nice. I'm not sure yet if I want to start gearing up for / running Ops but it would be nice if that were an option. Certainly running FP's and other stuff like that would be ideal. An active VoIP group would be nice too. I'm not what you would call a big talker but I do love listening to the conversations going on. Anyway, sorry about the dissertation. if anyone is interested PM me here. I usually swing by every couple of days or so.
  3. I just hope BW looks at how Rift implemented multi-specs. That game knew how to do it right! Four (or five? don't recall exactly) specs to pick from at max lvl. First was cheap to buy, others got more expensive. Could switch anytime you weren't in combat. The quickslot bars saved with the specs!
  4. My lvl 37 inquisitor has give pieces of orange gear. I tend to upgrade the mods from quest rewards and replace the armoring/hilt from planet commendations. The rest of my gear is quest rewards or stuff I craft with my Synthweaving (whichever is better). I try to avoid buying gear in the GTN just to avoid the extra cost. Seems like I never have enough credits as it is.
  5. Just to throw in another viewpoint, my Sith assassin is new level 34 on Taris. I've done NO space missions (coulnd't finish the first one after about 10 attempts so I gave up on them all) and I've skipped almost every heroic mission (no groups). I have runa few flashpoints when I can find groups and I've done all the bonus mission series that I have been able to find. All told I think I'm maybe one or two levels over the recommended starting level for a planet when I arrive. IMO you have definitely missed something, and quite possible a few somethings.
  6. Playing a LS Sith (to me) just feels wrong. Kind of like playing a DS Jedi.
  7. Combat isn't so tough once you figure a few things out. My apologies if some of this has been covered as I didn't read every post. My personal tips: (1) Learn how hard things are to kill. All mobs have a tag on them if you hover your mouse over them that tells you how tough they are. They generally go in this order: Weak > Normal > Strong > Elite > Champion > ???. Weak and normal mobs tend to gather in packs of 3 to 5. Attacking one will bring the whole pack, but they are easier to kill. Strong mobs tend to be found by themselves but can come in groups with other mobs (weak/normal). The typical group is 1 strong, 1 normal or maybe 1 strong and 2 weak. I have seen packs of 2 strong mobs but those are kind of rare. Elites meant to be killed by one player are almost always single mobs. Heroic/group missions will have packs of 2 or more elites at once. (2) Kill weak/normal mobs before strong ones. This reduces the amount of overage damage you have incoming. (3) Learn which abilities you have that take weak/normal mobs out of the action. For example, if you throw a Bounty Hunters sticky bomb on a weak mob he panicks until it blows up a few seconds later. When he's panicking he's not attacking you. This is a good thing Attacks like this don't take Strong or higher mobs out of the action. They just keep shooting. Just look for something like this in your ability texts: "Against weak or normal mobs this will do <whatever> for <x> seconds." (4) Go see your trainer every time you level up. (5) Keep your crew skills as current as you can, and visit that trainer often too. The stuff you make with your crafting crew skill generally makes your life a lot easier while out running your missions. (6) Learn what kind of gear your companion uses and keep theirs up to date too. There is an option in the UI settings that will add your companion's gear to the comparion tooltips that pop up. It is off by default (why I don't know).
  8. Uh...what?!? You can skip all that dialogue? <smacks head>
  9. No doubt. I just ran into this myself, assumed it was some kind of bug, and moved on. If it had just said "Mission Log is full" I would have realized what was going on and would have dumped some prior-world stuff that I had little intention of finishing.
  10. Can someone please elaborate on the meaning of these mission types? HEROIC 2 HEROIC 2+ HEROIC 4 GROUP From what I have seen in-game, it appears that the number is the number of recommended players in a group. But if that is true, whats the diff between a Heroic 4 and a Group mission?
  11. I did not know this, and was actually pretty curious about how the base stats (dmg/armor) got determined. Thank you for sharing.
  12. I thought Marth Daul was pretty darn funny for a Sith Inquisitor. No, not my name. One I saw in-game.
  13. My Sith Pureblood has red skin and red eyes because I like red. They appealed the most to me when I created him (and I went through almost every option one at a time when deciding) I'm not sure what you mean by the "3rd" body type, but if you refer to the taller, muscular one (i.e. the Arnold Schwarzenneger in his Terminator days look), yeah I like that one on the trooper I played (just to try out the class) and now on my Jedi Knight. Why? Because I want to play a guy who looks big and capable of taking on everything. My Sith has the more normal body type (in-between the short skinny one and the Arnie one). Point being: I don't think it's so much an imitating what's popular thing as it is something that just appeals to more people. If you like how your Sith looks, great. That color scheme isn't for me though.
  14. Hmm, and I play a Sith Inquisitor. Ugh.
