  1. Thats the best way to put it "restrictive" now. They seemed intent on sucking every bit of fun out of every single way to play the game. No system was safe from restricting fun. Add the bugs and total silence on top of that from the dev's and I would love to know how many subs have actually been canceled. They timed it perfectly too with Lost Ark launching happy to welcome the cancellations here. I wonder if Amazon paid Bioware to tank their own game at this point lol.
  2. The new cinematic was the ONLY thing about this "patch", I refuse to call it an expansion, that I liked. It didn't feel lesser quality to me and in fact it felt right at home with all the others. Everything else though...did they blow the whole patch budget on the CGI cinematic? Sure feels like it. Because whoever coded the UI, and frankly everything else with how buggy it is, can't possibly be a trained and educated programmer can they? I mean really?
  3. You're not wrong that was the end of the heyday in my mind too but there was still some quality and good story released afterward just way less of it. But nothing, and I mean nothing, they've ever done has been as catastrophic as this. This is seriously what they chose to release as an "expansion" at the same time Lost Ark releases? This bug ridden abomination they're calling an expansion? Like I said it seems they want to destroy their game before they lose their license completely. Its a shame, if they put all their resources into story and only story the majority of people who have been playing over the years would be happy to stay. Instead their expansion is 90% crap no one wanted, cared about, asked for, and in fact hates after seeing. With a whopping 10% what people like...the story and though poorly implemented the idea of combat styles.
  4. Mission accomplished for me. I preordered the game and have been subbed to it until 7.0. Congrats the current creative director and dev team have done what no other game could, made me cancel my subscription and walk away. How do any of you have jobs after what is possibly the worst expansion release I've played for any game since I started PC gaming 20+ years ago. With the awful state of the game bug wise, with the pathetic and pitiful design decisions, and the utter silence and contempt you show your player base why did you even bother doing anything for 7.0. The game would literally been better off if it never got another expansion or update from you. You would have more subs than you do now I guarantee that. Hopefully whoever they hire next can right the ship and the mess these guys created. Sadly though I doubt this storm is one the game will be able to weather and end times are near.
  5. Winner Winner. Cash Shop combat spec reset token 1000CC launching in March.
  6. Title says it all. Imagine you took all the time effort and money you have spent reworking the basic systems every major update (5.0/6.0/7.0), and instead used that all to produce new story content instead. All you do is seem to piss off a large % of your base every single major update cycle by useless and unnecessary changes. Well unnecessary to your players anyway. Do you devs just do this to justify your jobs out of curiosity? Like just to say to EA "see look we're doing something please keep paying us". Because I gotta say there is no other reason to be trying to shove this update down the throats of your player base, well unless you're purposely trying to torpedo this game and want that to be your legacies. Combat roles was a great idea, I mean you borked it all up, but the idea itself was a really amazing one. Yet every single other change you forced into this has me cancelling my account for the first time ever since this game launched and I'm not the only one. Yes I have been subscribed since then. But the imbecilic and tone deaf way you have done this update, especially the gear system and lack of moddable gear, leaves me and many others no choice. I'll take my time and money elsewhere I guess. Hopefully there is a major turnover at the SWTOR Bioware office after this debacle launches, crashes, and burns so that a new staff and creative director is hired that actually respects the game and the player base. Maybe I and others will return for 8.0 or 9.0 in a few years, if there is a game left. When do other companies start releasing the other Star Wars RPG's/Games again lol?
  7. I can only answer for me I've stopped que'ing altogether and won't ever again unless this losses not counting change gets reverted. I don't speak for everyone but I can guarantee many others feel like me and I've been hearing people complaining about PVP que times on station chat. Premades will likely be the only thing left in que soon and then can have fun fighting each other rather than being able to farm pugs.
  8. Best and worst is always subjective, and one note I only played male characters, but for me it went like this: 1. Jedi Knight - This story is the quintessential star wars story. Its exactly what you want if you want to be the force wielding hero. No real surprises but so very satisfying. 2. Imperial Agent - Probably the best overall story in the game for numerous reasons, but it doesn't feel like a star wars story. Its more space James Bond. Its the only story that changes significantly with your choices and it has I think 3 different endings. Those 2 are the best 2 without a doubt in my mind. Neither should be skipped. 3. Sith Inquisitor - Loved this as well though some are disappointed by it and I can understand why. Its basically space Indiana Jones with lots of lore involving Sith history. There are 2 downsides to it, 1 I think the Inquisitor has the worst companions of any story which can hurt it. Also your character makes a lot of mistakes and seems a fool at times. 4. Jedi Consular - Most have this as the worst. Its a slow build for sure. But its a true jedi story. Or what the jedi are supposed to be story. Its not fast paced or all about a war/fight. Its about peace. But much like the inquisitor story you find out a lot about jedi history, lore, and teachings. 5. Sith Warrior - If you want to be Darth Vader here is your chance. Its solid and I've played it twice. Its not so fun trying to be light side but if you want to be evil its hands down the best character to be evil on. Its also got possibly the best set of companions of any class. My favorite companion overall is Kira but the Sith Warrior Vette and Jaesa depending on alignment get very close to rivaling her. From this point on for me any of them can be swapped as they're all decent but hardly great or good. 6. Bounty Hunter - I enjoyed it a lot but its definitely a case of where the first act of the story is probably the best. It gets slower and more meandering as you go on. Of course after watching the Mandalorian it gives extra weight and enjoyment to this. Mako is awesome as well and probably has the best companion subplot story in this game in my opinion. It also has the worst companion *********** Skadge. I really wish Bioware let us kill companions permanently sooner than KOTFE because you will want to flush this guy out an airlock 5 seconds after meeting him. At least you get Blizz the awesome Jawa. 7. Smuggler - Never great never bad but always entertaining. This is probably the smallest scale story in this game. The Galaxy or even a planbet never seems to be on the line with the smuggler. Just small time stuff but the smuggler without a doubt 100% has the best lines in the game. You can **** with anyone in conversation it seems, being as ******** as you like. I found its best not to go full light or dark side and just pick the ******** answer it and it led to lots of laughs. 8. Trooper - I'd say the worst overall story because its the most disappointing. Its first act is one of the best if not the best. Man does it have some intrigue going on and its exciting. Then after the 1st act it drops off the cliff and you just meander through the rest of the game. Its a shame really. Thats about it. I hope for a day when they come back to class stories but I also know they never will sadly. Its a fun ride to go through them all.
  9. Personally I'd say my favorite is the Viridian Core one for green. I also like Empeth green which is the darker color you saqid you want. Its a mix of dark/light greens. I didn't like mint or sea green. If you're on Satele Shan server message/mail me I'll give you a Viridian one if you want. I have like 20 of them from a Hypercrate binge session a few months ago lol. My in game name is Raagnarz on pub side and either Moraxxus or Thaarrus on Empire.
  10. Yeah I took a fairly long break from the game. Came back just before the War for Iokath. So I had no idea for sure how long some of these companions have been gone. Sort of crappy to read how long it really has been. And also to read some accounts of how the returns are nothing more than a line or two.
  11. Well I can't say the KOTET and KOTFE were bad, I actually enjoyed them. But, and this is a big but, I was gone from the game for a couple of years. I came back and had all of Revan and beyond to play all at once. I found it incredibly enjoyable, but I could definitely see if that was released chapter by chapter being annoyingly short. Thats why I skipped doing everything beyond KOTET until there were at least a few more chapters to do. That being said, I think waiting 1-2 years for our original companions to come back is a bit ridiculous. Especially for classes like the consular who I think only got back Qyzen and half assed at that. I could deal with that sort of thing for lesser companions, but for the romance companions most main characters "married" or something akin to it well it seems out of place.
  12. I'm kinda curious why so many of the romance companions are still missing how long after KOET/KOTFE. A temporary hiatus I understand can build a story with new characters, and while I know you can "summon" them back immediately forsaking the story, most people invested heavily into those companions. Will they ever come back? Is it a case where you can't afford to pay the actors/actresses or their schedules don't allow it? I know Lacey Chabert is Mako and is known beyond just voice acting, so I'm curious. Some classes like the Imperial Agent have 80% of their companions back, whereas the Consular has all of what 1? The romance companions should have been the first to be reintroduced for all classes as they are usually the ones most important to the main character. Oh and Merry Christmas to everyone!
  13. I have Battllefront and I obviously play this. I spent no money on the Battlefront loot boxes. I've probably spent about $1k on hypercrates and other cosmetics in SWTOR. Ive spent over $1k in POE. When dev's aren't super greedy, blocking progression, doing everything they can to nickle and dime you, so as long as the game is enjoyable and the dev's keep the cash shop items cosmetic, then I'm all for it. When the dev's make the game's shop the only way to progress, then do whatever they can to slow progression and make it annoying so you HAVE to spend to advance, they can die and I hope the game dies too. SWTOR is 98% cosmetic. The exp boost/command boosts are about the only thing you can say is game play effecting. If you subscribe at least you get exp boosts for playing, and while rare command boosts can drop from the command crates. So I don't think SWTOR, other than an atrocious FTP model and features, is horrendous when it comes to its cash shop. I wouldn't hate some serious regulations against cash shops especially if the game has a box price. I can forgive a little if its free to play. but when they charge you AAA game box price, then handcuff the experience so you're forced to buy more from them, its criminal and I hope it will be soon.
  14. Got screwed out of it here too. Tried it earlier today, before midnight PST and it still didn't work. Tried it after and still nothing. I just found out about it today and it didn't work in the afternoon or night for me and I live in PST time zone. Did they turn it off on the 19th?
