  1. Flashpoint queues are dead? Good grief, which rock do these people come out from anyways?? Even in the morning fp queues take 5-10 mins tops to pop-up (Shadowlands). As the OP well put, I agree, they need to rebalance the whole gearing system for us PVE fans. Never been a fan of PVP and don't like the idea of paying for a game that forces me to play a mode I disliked since the game came out 5+ years ago. I have 22 characters and don't plan on spending 6 months on each to gear them up via the random RNG crapshoot called command crates.
  2. Did today's update, now the launcher is stuck at Installing 100% --- Downloading -- Complete, whichever one it is (that's a really "novel" way of reporting update installation progress btw). Tip: Change it so that it says either ONE of those. The settings button under my profile link is grayed out, and other than reinstalling the game, I have no idea what else to do with it. Needless to say, I have no interest in re-downloading the game "AGAIN" because a super minor update broke the launcher (for the nth time).
  3. After getting a PT and a Sorc to 50, pushing my sniper to lv 43 to get my 3rd buff, I rerolled a Jug and a Marauder. My question is: I want to get my 4th buff and get me a SW as well, however, I'm having a very hard time determining which one I should drop and which one I should go with. What I'm looking for is a good dps/defence combo, which the Jug seems to fit fine in, however, I've went up against a few Marauders in PvP that left me in awe .... (plus they look absolutely awesome while at it).... Tnx for the constructive replies. Opt.
  4. Not me, SWTOR still has so much exploring left for me. The pricing model change won't affect my gameplay anyways, since I plan on remaining a subscriber even after the change. .... unless, during a pvp match, I notice a F2P froobie, pwning me in my BM gear because he used 5 bucks to get it right away, that'll be the moment I unsub/uninstall and bid farewell to this joke. PS: Where's my 60 bucks I paid for this game btw Bioware/EA? Do you plan on reimbursing all of us that actually paid that price on top of the monthly sub? Or do you think you can just get away with "oh, thanks for the 60bucks, bye".
  5. I want my ~60 bucks back for the game that is now going to be free. I don't want virtual coins.
  6. What do I gain as a Digital Deluxe buyer??? Nothing?? What about my monthly subscription? I swear, if F2P players can buy weapoons-gear to make em equal to me (a paying subcriber) in any form of contest, be it PVP or OPs, thats gonna be the last day u can consider me a subscriber. You can keep your F2P base, BW-EA m done with your ignorance towards the real fanbase.
  7. sigh, well, having played World Of Tanks for well over a year, I can say that F2P works. However, what bothers me is the lack of trust in the SW fanbase. Me, being an avid fan for as long as I remember, feel a tad cheated tbh, since I never gave a second thought to paying for a game/story/environment I enjoy. Now tell me why I should bother paying for Ops/Flashpoints if I already have all the gear? What makes BW/EA think that I'll spend a cent on the game if my "deluxe" edition is the same as a troll that subs just to flame in here how awesome GW2 or WoW is? Wanna make sure that the general chat becomes even more annoying, that the pvp worlds are full of tarded trolls that have no better idea than to grief the proper fanbase? Nice move. Maybe you should have consulted the true fanbase that is keeping this game alive before making a decision. I understand the business model, but don't expect me to support this distrust in my subscription as a fan. Look at EVE. It survived all these years with only 400k subscribers and won't go away for a long long time to come, and not even once have they announced any F2P option. Because they want to keep the fanbase that keeps the game alive. Instead, you tried to mimic WoW, a stereotypical MMO that has nothing to offer in terms of a storyline, and in failing to achieve that, you drop everything the true fans hoped for, and go for a model that does exactly what to support the paying subscribers?? These true fans were the ones that still stuck around when the majority of your servers were barren. Dissapointed.
  8. Hey there, Welcome to SWTOR. There's a wealth of information available to you for various builds and specs at darthhater, torhead and similar sites, so I'd recommend checking them for more info. Otherwise, go for the leftmost, Immortal. It's a solid tree with good skills and higher survivability than the other two. Remember, you can always respec either on d.kaas or at the fleet, so you can move the skill points around as you get more familiar with the class. Good luck out there.
  9. There are commendation vendors for all the planets at the fleet. They're near the GTN if I recall correctly.
  10. My bad, that's what I was thinking, just not what I typed You don't have to get all upset child. It's ok!!!!
  11. Great post, just a small addition tho: strength does affect your characters atributes (ie. additional hp), so no matter what class you're playing, if you're a tank of any kind, additional hp can mean the difference between the time for th next heal and a rez .
  12. Check your armor, that lowers you overall hp if damaged. Fixing it should bring your hp back to speed, unless you've changed your mods from strength (which adds to hp) to aim (which increases your dps, but lowers hp when compared to strength).
  13. Dang man, even I learned something from all that summary. Tnx. To the OP: as someone else suggested, try each class and then stick with the one you like best. The most fascinating aspect of SWTOR (coming from someone who doesn't have MMORPG experience, but has about 20+ years of gaming experience since the first C64) is that each class plays so differently, even the specialization branches differ so much between each other in terms of gameplay that it's a totally different experience each time (ie. my Gunslinger spec on the smuggler plays totally different from the Scoundrel one). I did that, tried each class for at least the first few levels and choose my favourites. Currently working on getting a sorcerer up to speed, but also working on a Jedi Consular as well, since they're both counterparts of the REP/IMP factions. Best of luck to you out there. Regards, Opt.
  14. Most annoying so far: Trooper "Sounds like you could use a soldier". Really?
  15. Haven't finished any story so far, so I can't say which one will be best in the end. I have tried the beginnings of the BH, Smuggler, Agent, JK, JC, SW, SI and Trooper, and the fact that my trooper is lv 38 is a giveaway that his story has been pretty interesting so far (that and the fact that the dude kicks ***). I did play the Agent up to lv 29, so m pretty close to getting to the end of chapter 1 and it has been fairly interesting so far. Let's see how it develops further. I'll eventually get em all, but since the my Trooper is stuck on a dead server, I may just drop it and follow-up on the SI/Agent one's for the mo.
