  1. Hello Assassins and Shadows, I normally get pigeon holed tanking or healing with my guild but was starting to try and dabble with some dps and with the recent nerfs to Sents (the class i normally try to dps with). I started looking at my shadow to mess around with. I was looking at some of the guides to get an idea of what to shoot for when it comes to stats and I was curious if anyone had tried a heavy alacrity build yet similar to what the Sents and VGs have had success with and what the results were. (apologize if this has already been brought up but new to this forum.) Thanks for any feedback
  2. Little bit more trolling here but he ran between 1.3k dtps to 2.3k dtps. On the run we killed him I believe he was at about 1.7k and us tanks were around 1.2-1.3k.
  3. nothing constructive to add just wanted to troll... Congrats to Bahadori for clearing Torque HM on a Sent and only having 300 more DtPS then the tanks !
  4. Thanks for the advice guys! you don't save shoulder cannon as a defensive cooldown? i think that in itself will be a big change in my dps i had been saving it for when i was low/ knew the healers were busy with other things. ill practice it up and try and fine tune it like the guardian. also is full auto worth it on things like tyrans when the other tank has the boss or don't bother?
  5. (This is mostly aimed toward the VG/PT tanks out there.) I have been tanking on a guardian/jugg since 2.0 (mained an assassin before that) and I recently leveled up a VG to help out another raid group in my guild cover a tank spot. When I started tanking some with the VG recently threat hasn't been an issue but I noticed a huge gap between the dps I am able to put out on my VG vs the guardian. The few ops I was in I was hovering around 1k dps maybe 1.1k on some fights. On similar fights I am easily hitting 1.25k to 1.4k (I can get close to 1.5k on NiM drax but that is pure reflect crits inflating the number) Granted I still have a veracity ear and I need to switch out my endo crystals for power ones but I can't see that being a ~200dps boost. done beating around the bush, what numbers are y'all hitting while you are tanking? How are you doing it? Do you use full auto / unload? Am I misremembering VG/PTs being kings of tank dps?
  6. Dipstik!!! Thank you so much this is exactly the info I was asking for in my "damage profiles question" thread the other day. Thanks for actually answering the question instead of saying average numbers are fine.
  7. Thanks for the input guys. I have been running the average numbers for my jugg and we are clearing all but last boss in each instance pretty much one shot. Having issues keeping everyone alive in the 6 finger phase near the end of Brontes (think is a dps issue honestly) and haven't made many attempts at Dread council since we only raid one night a week and try to knock out both instances in 3 hours. Thanks for the which is which type of boss list Kadjunga (have it on a post it note on my monitor now)
  8. After the long wait on the suicide list and finally getting my relics and implants I am finally able to grab a few extra pieces to try and min max my gear per boss with out worrying that I'm going to miss out on an implant because I grabbed the boots. With this is mind which damage profile ratio(or by boss if you have that info) would you math wizards recommend the defense heavy allocation vs the absorb heavy allocation (DF vs DP numbers). Or am I totally over thinking this and should I just stick with the DF and DP numbers for their perspective instances? Any and all help is appreciated
  9. So its not supposed to dot the splash dmg targets as well? That seems like absolute garbage compared to the PT version of the talent.
  10. Quick question for yall. I am a bit new to the Merc class, normally stuck tanking for the guild but I just started trying to gear out my Merc to have a dps and I am a bit confused on one of the talents. I apologize if this was mentioned before but its something I have been trying to figure out what the purpose of "Volatile Warhead" is. The PT version I understand, when you flame sweep it puts the cylinder dot on everything but with the Merc it seems in practice to only dot the target hit by the missile blast and not the splash targets. Is this how it is supposed to be working? if so this seems to me that this is a terrible talent when would it be used? Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. Figure ill try and get on the board before actual raiding juggs start posting. Síhay Jugg 36/8/2 http://www.torparse.com/a/518234 all these are 8 man HM Nefra (even up time and not guarded) DtPS: 1538.2 Biggest hit: 4699 Total heals done: 7812 Dmg/swings: 1824.5 Draxus (tanked draxus when he was down) DtPS: 1223.1 Biggest hit: 6839 Total heals done: 56943 Dmg/swings: 907.6 Grob'throk (was on add duty) Bestia DtPS: 1182.6 Biggest hit: 11433 Total heals done: 0 Dmg/swings: 2319.2 Tyranus DtPS: 1734.7 Biggest hit: 13335 Total heals done: 40069 Dmg/swing:2154.8
  12. For Jug/Guardians sweeping slash/cyclone slash is under utilized. It can actually build some pretty decent threat despite what seems like a not very big damaging attack. (with the talents). smash -> crushing blow -> enrage -> spam sweeping slash can build up a pretty good aoe threat buffer. Its now discharge/whither spam however but we Jugs work with what we have.
  13. Honestly when using taunts to pad your threat for an opener it depends on your group and how many attacks you can get in before you loose threat. The guild I run with has some snipers who think its absolutely hilarious to open with orbital strike so the first hit ticks as they are already in mid cast of ambush with a insta snipe and follow through coming right behind it. So because I know this is on its way I Enrage ->saber throw -> jump -> back hand -> reflect -> smash -> crushing blow -> ravage -> taunt (with retaliations sprinkled in there when they are proced). this many not work for eveyone and god knows the unguarded Merc will sneak up on me in the opening with a lucky streak of crits. But this is because I know I can get away with that many attacks before I'll lose threat. The way I figure the more hits I squeeze in before I taunt the more "fluff" threat I'm going to get from the taunt. So this whole what and when to taunt to me is more a knowing your group and what you can get away with them. This may all be common sense but I saw a lot of debate in the thread over what the "best" opener is and to me it seems there is no cut and dry best for every situation.
  14. Moriendum might be the place for y'all then. We are a group of laid back guys all 20+. We normally do some FPs and SM ops durring the week and work on HM ops (currently 3/5 DF) on the weekend or when we have the people on for it. We have vent and a website as well. If you are interested feel free to send me a Message on the forums or /who moriendum and ask for Cihe. Looking forward to hearing from you, Cihe
  15. Moriendum is looking to pick up a few new members to fill out our HM ops team. We are a friendly 20+ guild with easy going people. We recently had some people leave the game for various reasons and need to pick up some new blood. Gear isnt necessarily a requirement if you know your class well but would be great. We are currently 3 bosses in to Dread Fortress HM and have TFB and SnV on farm with alts at this point. all classes are welcome. If interested please /who moriendum in game and ask for Cihe or head on over to http://moriendumest.swtorhost.com/
