  1. As soon as Vader/Anakin dies he asks a one-word question "Master?" and is greeted by Obi-Wan, who is delighted that after-all the prophesy was true, and Qui-Gon was right. Anakin had, in a single act, destroyed the Sith. Obi-Wan then trains him to become "one with the force". Bibliography::-- http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Rise_and_Fall_of_Darth_Vader http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/The_Life_and_Legend_of_Obi-Wan_Kenobi Please be aware that these are no longer considered 'cannon' whatever that means anyway... Happy Gaming, U_M
  2. A common misconception is that Star Wars (the films) is a story of 'good' and 'evil' in fact it's much more complex. I know little of George Lucas, but if he wanted to depict a 'good' Jedi and 'evil' Sith then he failed miserably, the Jedi cannot be considered a 'good' institution in any sense of the word. There are, as you pointed out, a great number of hypocrisies regarding the Jedi and their Republic. "Good is a point of view Annakin" (Palpatine). In reality the story shows us so many mistakes that the 'rules' of Yoda's Jedi Order are simply out of date and unrealistic. As you yourself pointed out the attachment rule is just one as this 'can lead to jealousy' so this rule is based on a preconceived 'fear' another of the feelings that Jedi's must try to avoid. It's just so stupid it's beyond belief. The Jedi order pretty much wants it's members who do not volunteer to join, (but rather are recruited by abduction) to act as sentient droids. Except when it suits them of course, as this 'rule' is relaxed to allow a knight (Ki-Adi-Mundi) to have a polygamous selection of wives as he is one of the few males of his species. The hypocrisy expands to meet the needs of the expanding hypocrisy. Then there's their particular method of recruitment. I used to call them the baby snatchers. So you took my child from me did not allow us contact of any kind, and turned him into a farmer.... Great! Who would release their children to such an institution? The desperate and poor. And they wonder why they are treated with suspicion? Then there is their enemies the Sith. "You were supposed to destroy the Sith, not join them!" (Kennobi). Remember that the Sith were initially a species, I doubt we need to look far into why they have been wiped out. The Jedi think 'balance' will be the removal of the Sith completely and the Sith think the opposite. I think that they are both right. These are too violent religious groups who are hell-bent on destroying each other. Who would want to live in such a galaxy? Not I for sure. The Jedi's exist within a Repulic where their killing and maiming is met with seemingly no scrutiny whatsoever. The Jedi are the guardians of the republic and therefore not even questioned when they commit acts of violence. Killing is seen to be a viable method of conflict resolution. The result is that Republic's citizens are less free. Annakin, now "freed", is now arguably less free than he had been on Tattooine. He merely exchanged one form of slavery for another. Benjamin Franklin once said::-- "Any society that gives up a little liberty, to gain a little security, will deserve neither and lose both". This is demenstrably what happens in the films. In many of the stories the Jedi behave with such arrogance it becomes hard to sympathise with them. I think the 'servants of the force' is hot air, imagine an athlete describing themselves as a 'servant of carbohydrates'. Like so much of their waffle, it's arrogant nonsense at best. Some of the lines they deliver is cringe-worthy stuff. The only likeable qualities of the Sith is their honesty and their selection of recruitment 'will you join me' just seems a bit more chivalrous. Even when playing KOTOR the lightsaber classes are my least favourite although I do play them. Their Republic too is fracturing. Look how it treats those that wish to secceed. Slavery is 'tolerated' on some planets. It harbours violence and corruption on a seemingly industrial scale. Look at how life on the lower levels of Coruscant is depicted and this is their capital, a glorified slum where poverty and violence is simply tolerated and ignored. In KOTOR it had a dedicated 'prison planet' which it keeps quiet to its citizens. Children born to these prisoners are also kept as prisoners, it's just all gone wrong. Our own world is far from perfect and I can think of many unscupulous regimes and corrupt countries, but none as bad as this Republic. I think George Lucas is showing us that the Jedi have completely lost their way, as Bane believed the Sith Brotherhood had before. The results are markedly similar. TL/DR::--- I agree:- and Darth Traya was correct. Also I think you know/think all this yourself, you have crafted an interesting discussion though.
  3. It seems to me that the Jedi spend far more time providing support for Republic military actions (be it against rebels, pirates, Dark Jedi, or foreign military forces) than they do... helping people. I don't see any arm of the Jedi dedicated to building houses, or feeding the poor. So what do they do aside from kill people and mediate disputes? In answer to your question::-- What about the Agricultural Corp it seems a noble cause? Although I have read little about it aside from it being the main cause of fear (ironic for an institution that want's its member to not feel it) of many padawans in the EU. Obi-Wan was close to joining it's ranks and it was something that Scout was expecting to happen as she was known to be 'weak' in the force. I think this has little written regarding it as it is clearly a difficult subject to set what are essentually a series of hero stories. This 'strength in the force' idea I see as akin to a force-sensitive individual being able to the another's strength as we would a footprint for example. Edit::;- Just done some research and here's a link::-- http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jedi_Service_Corps It seems that they do quite a lot of good.
  4. Following your line of thought, what about Mako, isn't her back-story that she grew up on Nar Shaddaa?
  5. Was it Darth Traya from KOTOR II?
  6. Are you French? You produce an incredible amount of whine...
  7. You sir, are a bad Ezio and an even worse Messi. We had the meeting, were you too bad to attend? Or could not fathom the directions to the room for it? To be clear::-- It has been decided that, the pvp forums should have two tabs, one labelled 'Crying for nerfs' and one labelled 'pointless whining'. Your application of both logic and ability to see two sides of an argument (albeit a pointless one) are not welcome. Even worse would be something suggesting something constructive. How many pvp forum rules do you want to break in one post? Please refrain from using (a) logic and (b) common sense on the pvp forums. Should you wish to post something constructive in the future, I can post directions to Bioware's trash can email. Where your ideas can be instantly shredded (by an operative with a blunt vibroknife). Please abide by the forum rules in future, and moan more about concealment operatives, and cry for a few more nerfs. Happy gaming, U_M
  8. Seven Usual Suspects? etc etc etc Pulp Fiction Train spotting I'm sorry to break it to your heart.
  9. To try and help, I too have a naga razor, I think you will love the investment, it's a solid piece of kit. So I tried to play one-handed tonight. Without doubt I played my healing classes best, you will have the top two buttons and twelve on your thumb to assign, + two extra down the side of the left mouse button. I found playing scoundrel/operative healer with one hand the easiest. but it is still not that 'easy'. However on this class I cannot see a problem with you clearing the hardest PVE content. When it comes to PVP it's the toughest part of the game. I admit that I did not try the GSF part of the game (I cannot do this with two hands!) you just maybe better at that from me. I have never been able to play that sort of game (we used to call them 'shoot 'em ups'). I still think in regs you could do a very good job. My few tries were ok and I was not being abused or anything like that. I did not have time to play all classes but again healing was simpler for me. I have a disability to and am used to what comes with that, but not as severe as your own. I like your attitude. WIthout meaning to cause any upset to you, if you are able to accurately hit CTRL or Shift buttons with your weaker limb, then your disability will have no impact whatsoever on your decision. You could play any class. There maybe another device that allows you to have different keys set to this function? Take what I have written with a pinch of salt though, as playing two handed, I find healer 'easier' it just suits my temperament I guess. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you 'Enjoy the game'. Probably the best advice is that you try them all as tank/dps/heal and find the one that you like the best, I am sure that you will adapt and make it work for you. Happy gaming, U_M
  10. Your brain will store this information differently. When you do not care about the outcome, a crit is a 'good thing' that happened to you, and may well be filed as more important. When you are 'trying' to RE for a specific purpose, those non-crits count and are remembered. In addition to being frustrated at the time, the brain will record this frustration and register the process as important, it does not want you to be unhappy. Hope can easily become expectation. When you do not crit on an item you RE and do not care about the outcome, your brain will not remember this information as 'important' and is a much slower process in terms of recall. I.E. we forget the negative things that happen to us if they are not important or do not cause any distress. (In this answer where I have said 'you' really I mean 'us' or 'our') Happy Crafting (and RE-ing), U_M

    Is it me..

It has been said to me many times that I am a 'Dick', never been called a Tom or Harry before though.... Hope that helps.
  12. This is exactly what I was going to suggest. The four man player team must have the 1 tank 2 dps 1 heal so the group finder must work correctly. Secondly there should be the boss 'skills' posted on the site so that they are clear to the players. This would be a nice merge of the existing pve content that should in theory require less programming than a whole new WZ. I quite like the idea of being the Terror From Beyond or Gill or the Vigilant for example I got this idea from Forge a pvp only game. Best regards, and happy pvping, U_M
  13. A tech healer (Scoundrel/op or merc/trooper) can cleanse these dots. Educate you 'healer' friend to key-bind their cleanse button. Those abilities do a combined 7k damage over 21-18 seconds if you cannot heal through that then seek medical advice or another game. Thirdly:- this tactic is called pressure, it is intended that this 'fluff' damage causes pressure on your healers to achieve victory. You do realise that you won? Therefore the lethality Op posted large numbers but was unsuccessful in winning the match. Shield probe absorbs approximately 3k damage, by burst do you mean you forced charged, pressed smash, it didn't work, and then you did not know what to do after that? Or you spent 11 seconds wiping up the drool, to charge and smash again? So a warrior or knight complains about an operatives defensive cool-downs? You sir, are a legend. Have a look at this video::-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zklx3BQIV4w It may give you nightmares Ok do you realise how this makes you and your 'friends' look? This is where you truly reveal your true colours. You won the game but are still not happy, because another player did more damage I feel sorry for you. Most players would be happy, chalk up another win, and dive in again. But no, you are entitled to be higher damage than this operative. Because you are you right? So you should be better than this 'overpowered class'. Answer me this question please::-- How many lethality operatives do you see in warzones? I'll strap myself into my chair to read your coherent response. Happy drooling, U_M
  14. If this is genuine then I feel sorry for you.
  15. I can't see this happening. The combination of having cybertech (re-usable grenades) and biochem (reusable stims, medpacks and adrenals) would cause too much imbalance. Happy gaming, U_M
