  1. My account ends within days and I have no plans on to renew: I have always been a big fan and nerd for Science Fiction (Sci FI) themed shows and games. My first MMO type game I played was a not really a MMO. It was massively multiplayer, though. It was MPBT - MultiPlayer BattleTech online - originally on GENIE network then on AOL. Later on it went via the internet for a small nominal fee. Imagine 8 colors, and bad robot and mech graphics with NO CUSTOMIZATION - other than the "room" that you fought battles in... had a randomly selecting map list that would favor specific types of maps. I tried games like EvE Online and it lacked a soul and I could never get in it, and I am hoping the new MechWarrior Online will be fun and worth it (I have given up on the Battletech or MechWarrior series - but that is a different story). Star Trek Online was fun in beta, but it got progressively easier and easier, and by the end of beta and early retail. You can close your eyes and WIN. Star Wars Galaxy - a great game - the best crafting and harvesting system to date, IMHO. However, after a year and NGO, nuff said: it died! Games like WoW, Rift, Warhammer Online, Lineage 2, Myth of Soma, LOTRO, Age of Conan, Vanguard, EverQuest (1 and 2), and a whole slew of WOW clones began to dominate the PC gaming area and MMOs in general. Most were bland. However, none were science fiction or Science Fantasy. Some were clever in it's own way. However, none ever satisified me. Until SWTOR. I am looking for something different. A game with a Good story and lore - and more science fiction (or sci fi) than pure fantasy. Level 1 - 49 was... a blast... it was great. Left me breathless at times. The only problem I had was it was TOO EASY and you LEVELED too quick. There is no way to stop EXP gain - as a result, you are forced to either skip content or do it and it be so low level that even naked you are more powerful than any mob or droid your fighting. Flash points were normally EZMODE even on HM. Then hit level 50. Your companions that were vital from level 1 thru 49 became almost worthless at level 50. That Mako and Jawa (Which is so cute and cuddly) were almost never used. Illium was a failed world RvR experiment. The PvP was the same three maps over and over again. Since the servers were mostly Imperials we played allot of Huttball. Huttball was fun, but after 600 games of HUTTBALL... it is dullsville. I was on a PvP server and I fought 3 people 5 times in PvP. Talk about dullsville. I love world PvP - but there was none to be had. People would hide in instances or other maps ... sheesh. The operations were a JOKE. The operations are the SWTOR version of a raid. On Easy mode you needed 8. The harder modes can have upto 16 players. Most of the Operations lacked a story and had simple tank and spank boss fights. There were a few weird fights... but most were easy to figure out. I got to the point that I could watch tv and spam a few buttons and kill a boss... something that the devs said would not be possible. Yet I was doing it more and more. Likewise, I had trouble logging in more and more. Not technical or financial problems - but I lacked the desire to log on. Most of the Flash Points were easy and fun - but once you did them 50 times... what else can you do? I have not bothered logging in to see the 1.2 patch. Why? I have 4 days until my account ends and I lack a desire to enter it too. My guild has moved on, mostly - for the same reason. Even this content patch... um... most of it should have been included as a day one patch. COME ON! GUILD BANKS, Customizeable UIs, one more (and only one more) warfront?! Thats ALL? I waited this long for ONLY THAT?! I WAITED THIS LONG FOR A MEGA PATCH THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HOT FIX A DAY AFTER RELEASE? Imagine if the new Call of Duty Game Multiplayer only had 4 maps and almost 5 months later they give a 5th. yeah..... right. Then the EZMODE of everything.... EZMODE IS BORING! Why do I have to always win, why can I not have content that is challenging and even 8 to 16 well geared and well educated SWTOR players can fail? REPEATEDLY? Why dont we get a Dungeon where people "BRAG" That it took them only 3 months to kill all the bosses and most guilds took them 2 years to be able to kill all the bosses? Where is the challenge? WHY IS IT ALWAYS WITh THE EZMODE? In the end: Why am I leaving SWTOR? I am looking for a game that challenges me. I am looking for a game with content and a reason to log in. A Crafting and harvesting system that means something. I am looking for a game that does not need raids to make a game become multiplayer. SWTOR is the best single player game experience I had... on a MMO. Sad, but true. THE END SWTOR.
  2. I have not quit SWTOR, nor do I have plans to... yet. As for the "when WOW came out" responses... if this was 2002 - I would agree with you all. However, we have moved past that time. We expect more - and why should I bother keeping with the current game if the current game is not as good as a previous game? to me, it makes no sense. Once you finish the story - its a pretty dull game. Sure there are a few side quests I missed; but do you complete all of SKYRIM's quests? I am sure a few did, most will not. That is why I made an alt, though, to see the stuff I missed... and new class story. However, there comes a time... when you played all the alts you want... what then? Why did we not have more stuff and more end content? They spent how much on voice acting and how much on programming?
  3. The Sith Code, as taught by Darth Bane: Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. ************** PASSION is in the first line. Keep that in mind, and remember EP 3 when Darth Sidious was telling Anakin about the Sith who kept people alive and was caring? Be the good and honorable Bounty Hunter or SITH! It is possible!
  4. SWTOR did ask for my feedback and I created a draft and sent it... is there anything I am missing? SWTOR asked for my feedback and this is what I have to say about this MMO (this is my first draft and I sent it - should I send anything else?): Hello, The single player content and story is GREAT! From level 1 thru 49 - you feel like you are making a difference in the SWTOR universe and that you are truly powerful and mighty and important. My hats off to you. However, have you all ever played a MMO before? I played the closed beta and I could not believe how CRAPPY the UI was and the guild functions were. It is like you guys never played any MMO before or spent all your money on voice acting instead of programmers. No guild bank features? WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No way to effectively transfer items across your OWN characters... what really? The UI is not customizable?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You give out so many new spells, abilities, and powers that they don't all fit in your central two bars? HAVE YOU ALL EVER PLAYED A MMO or RPG before? At least look at World of Warcraft, Rift, Everquest (1 or 2), Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amalur, SWG (the Sony Star Wars Galaxy) or any other modern RPG or MMO. You may give us excuses like: SWTOR is new and give us time we will ADD IT IN. NO THAT IS NOT EXCUSABLE. If this was 2002 and I never played World of Warcraft, Rift, Everquest (1 or 2), Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amalur, SWG (the Sony Star Wars Galaxy) or any other modern RPG or MMO I would forgive you. However, you have to learn from the past to make sure your product is up to date and innovative. As it stands when it comes to UI, Guild functions and being able to transfer items from your own character to your own character in the same server - the SWTOR game is out dated and lacking. This leads me to the next situation: Guild Houses and Player Houses. When can I decorate my ship? Who will be crafting decorations and random items? If I can not decorate my ship will there be player housing? Why is it older Star Wars MMO, SWG from Sony, has the ability to create housing and vendors? Did you not look at that game? Why are we stepping backwards? In SWG - Star Wars Galaxy from Sony, we were able to create different set of houses and these houses had the ability to decorate them. In fact, one of the crafters, had the ability to custom decorate in house items like chairs, sofas, crafting stations, etc. Why did we step backwards and neglect this? Will we be able to do this soon? When can we be more SOCIAL on SWTOR and invite people over to a decorated starship or house? Guild banks and a Guild Hall or Guild Ship? REALLY? Where is it? Have you not played any modern MMO that did not have it? The few that did not.. quickly got them soon. If my guild wanted to donate materials to crafters - how can they do this? BY MAIL? What if they send it to the wrong person? Or the person they send it to has a MILLION emails and don't notice it? You are that backwards and don't realize that a guild is a very social place and there is very little features that support the guild? When can we have a guild hall? Maybe a guild ship? Will be able to decorate it? I am betting we will not be able to decorate a guild hall or guild ship once we get it. Why, because that would be innovative and require thought - and so far... Bioware is failing in the MMO market on that department. Moving right along. How many maps came with the PvP (multiplayer) version of Battlefield 3? How many maps came with the PvP (multiplayer) version of the recent Call of Duty game? How many PvP maps come with WoW? Rift? Everquest 2? How many come with SWTOR? Three. Three? And only one of which is played the most... HUTTBALL. Do not get me wrong, I think HUTTBALL is great. Three weeks later, I am almost ready to poke my eyes out if I have to see another HUTTBALL match. Why are there not more matches or more variety in the matches out there? When will be able to play against both NPCs and PCs (players)? In Rift there is a match called Port Scion. In WoW I believe its called Warsong Gulch. I played WoW before the first expansion for a whole week, before I got bored - so forgive me if I don't know much about WOW. In these matches, it was PvP but you had to play against NPCs and coordinate both a defense and an offense. So your strategies could vary and you still had to kill people. What match is like that in PvP? Why don't we have something like this yet? maybe make a mini battle of illium match? Are you all sure you played other MMOs before, Bioware? Can you make a match where we fight against the Republic versus Imperials? Then make a DIFFERENT one where it can be random versus random - like HUTTBALL? Did you not know that there will be more Imperials than Republic players? Did you not know most republic players are just imperials who made ALTS to see the story while they wait for the Imperial guild mates to come on? I wont mention how most servers have more dedicated Imperials than Republic players... cause even though that happened in CLOSED BETA, open beta, Beta weekends, and when guild registered on the website and selected a faction - how could you all know that more Imperials would be about? HOW COULD YOU HAVE KNOWN... Flashpoints and Operations. Why are they all EZMODE? Why is nightmare almost EASIER than HARD? Why are there only two operations? Did you all not learn from previous MMOs? Why is a single player game like Kingdoms of Amalur and Skyrim have more Dungeons and content than SWTOR a MMO? Personally I disliked KoA - Kingdoms of Amalur; however, I will call it as I see it. Now Bioware, half my guild has stopped playing and left. When will you fix this and stop the last half from leaving?
  5. I got burned twice.... I got the CE, but not a Pre-Order code. I was not too worried - since there has been no MMO to date that required us to enter the pre-order code early... I was not too concerned about the pre-order code... until I get a notification that Bioware and EA changed the way they changed early access. Early Access is now a week early and was dependent upon when you enter your pre-order code. I got so nervous I bought a digital deluxe edition to enter a pre-order code. For me, entering the game is more important than fluff of the CE... and now I am screwed. I have yet to enter the game... and effectively bought the game twice. Nothing else to do... but hope I get in. Anyhow, here is my take on the situation... after a few hours of sleep and rest: Until recently there was NO indication that putting in Pre-Order codes early will give a player earlier access. In my original post, the MAIN reason why I was not too concerned about pre-order codes is... NO WHERE DID IT MENTION THAT EARLY ACCESS WILL BE DETERMINED BY DATE YOU ENTER THE PRE-ORDER CODES. Only recently did this become public knowledge. Previous EA MMOs and other American based MMOs have done a 5 day early access and it does not matter if you entered a pre-order code on day 1 versus the minute you gained access. As a result, from my point of view, I have 5 days of early access... this is 5 days of early access... I was expecting just to put in my code and enter a queue and start playing. As of right now, I am not playing 5 days early (there is still hope, I guess). I did enter a pre-order code WEEKS ago - Dec 7th - but I have yet to enter the game ... or be allowed to enter the game. Why is that? Sure I did not get the pre-order codes from Gamestop earlier... BUT, if I would have KNOWN that it was important back in July... I would have been more proactive. The bottom line is FAIRNESS. We all would like to be treated fair. Is this fair? No where did it explain that Bioware or EA would form a line based on time entering a pre-order code. Previous experience from previous EA games told me that is not an issue. Previous MMO launches have also taught me that is not the case. In fact, no one here knew that would be the situation until a few weeks ago when it was posted on the website. Which, ironically, if you put in the pre-order codes that same day (upon seeing and hearing that you need to stand in line) ... you are STILL not playing the game. Here I am, I did not know entering the pre-order codes early or late would cause me NOT to play early.... I am not in the game because.... I was treated unfairly. At least, that is how I FEEL. Was I treated unfairly? If this was real life, and we were at a movie... there would be a physical line to enter a movie theatre. I would see the line forming, even if the movie threatre did not tell me to get in line. Is it the movie threatre's fault that I did not get a good seat - because there were people ahead of me? NO. However, this is the problem... this game does not have a physical or virtual indicator. In July, August, September, or October I did not see a line or indication of this line. Only in Late November, early December there was an indication. Now here is another point of view. I joined with a guild. We are encouraged to play with friends. However, this new system is counter intuitive. The guild leader and myself have not entered the game. As a result, we are not able to play with our friends already in game. My guild leader is not able to give access to let other people join or try to recruit... so our guild is being discriminated and loosing potential new recruits. Of course, we dont mass recruit - but finding a gem in the rough is always nice. Now we need to hope that those gems are not taken by people who had the luck to put the pre-order code earlier than us. Likewise, not everyone was able to enter the guild before it quit... so we have a few peeps who are guild-less and not able to enter our guild because the guild leader is not in. Our healers don't have tanks... so why bother playing with your friends if this system is promoting a line that we can not play together with? Most of my guild are about level 20... so who do I get to play with when I hit Black Talon or Hammer Station? I also work and wont return for 14 more hours and I have yet to be invited... so... yeah.... some of them might be 30... and I will be lucky to be level 1 within 14 hours. Play with your friends, Bioware... HA HA HA jokes on us!

  7. CE people are people who did not buy from the Origins website, they get LAST priority. I am still waiting to get to play SWTOR. It seems people who bought from the Origins website or any official EA website get a higher priority than people who did not! So CE people are people who get low priority since they did not purchase items directly from EA.
  8. When all the kiddies will roll bad arse sith and not goodie good jedi? We naturally are born to be bad.. and like bad boys more than the sweet boys.
  9. In school if something was due on Dec 15th and you finished it in October most professors would allow you to turn it in early but wonder why you did not proof read your document or review your findings in more detail, no? The problem was no one knew there was a time limit. Like I mentioned before, name one MMO (or other type of game) that used the same language but used this approach. How was I to know?
  10. I used to be a Jedi like you, Until I an arrow in the knee?
  11. Rift, you had May get up to 5 days of early access (same language). You literally could enter your pre-order code the minute of early access and get in. Lord of the Rings Online also had the may get up to 5 days of early access. Same situation. You could enter your pre-order code early. DC Universe Online (PC version, never played the PS3 version) had the same set up. May get up to 5 days of early access and anyone willing to put in the pre-order code at that moment or before had access at the same time. Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Lineage 2, ble bla bla... all had the may get up to 5 days of early access. It is a pretty standard practice in MMOs. You enter the pre-order key, you can get in up to 5 days early. Name one MMO that was not like that? Name one other MMO that used a different policy than the may get up to 5 days of early access and had this policy. So when I saw the standard "May get up to 5 days" of early access... why should I care when i enter my pre-order code... I will get UP TO 5 days of early access. I did enter my Pre-Order code and I did not get those 5 days.
  12. Here is the problem with that statement. I bought a CE in July. Never entered a pre-order code until December. I wont bore you with the detail. Name one other MMO that penalized people for entering pre-order keys later (or close to the early access time)? The worse part about this - is why was this such a secret. If I would have known my early access was dependent upon entering a pre-order code I would have done so in July. So, why did I get penalized for buying a game in July but not entering the pre-order code until December?
  13. Only because you entered your pre-order code early. If you did not... this has NOT been smooth. the Problem that I see with this launch is no major MMO launch has ever used such a weird system. Name one MMO that has had a launch where it limits you on when you can enter. I bought a CE months ago - but because i did not enter a pre-order key I dont even get 5 days of early access? Even Warhammer Online had 5 days of early access... and you were granted 5 days even if you enter the pre-order code the day of Early Access. There was NO INDICATION this game would be different then there was a website post (in December) that addressed this. Imagine that... December people who decided to either wait (like me) or buy at the last minute are the ones being penalized. The worse part about this - is why was this such a secret. If I would have known my early access was dependent upon entering a pre-order code I would have done so in July. So, why did I get penalized for buying a game in July but not entering the pre-order code until December?
  14. I feel you. I feel your pain. The Dark side is strong with this one! This will teach you... NEVER EVER DOUBT EA... always buy their products early and from the EA website or ELSE.
