  1. You see this across the board in all development houses, its quite unreal how the game industry can cultivate this. Person X gets promoted above his talent level, he/she has their own idea on how to do thing, they believe against all facts and logic THEIR idea is the greatest thing ever and will bring riches down upon their heads. Garbage gets released development house implodes. These people are so monumentally arrogant they are incapable of seeing warning signs or to learn from history, look at Anthem for heavens sake and now this mess, complete UI revamp for no reason which brings no benefits but lots of negatives
  2. Translation - Everytime someone gets promoted they have their own ideas that they are emotionally invested in and believe they are the greatest thing ever, in addition dumbing down the game to basic binary choices will allow us to tap that sweet console cash with a port and maybe even mobile money as smartphones are so powerful now they can run the archaic engine we built this game on!!! Im pretty confident this is their gameplan, its a massive strip out of what they spent a great deal of time implementing and no matter how they dress it up its absolutely removing choice and variety
  3. Honestly, I dont think they give a crap about the game or even the current players because they have already done all they could on the back of a Star Wars IP with a terrible and outdated engine from launch with obsolete technology. This downsizing and simplification, coupled to the fact that this isnt really a MMO, (it can barely handle a few dozen people per PLANET before having to spawn extra instances) screams that they have their eyes on the next cash grab which I get a feeling is a port over to consoles (which are now powerful enough to run this junk in their sleep) they just need to cull the abilities down to being controller friendly. I could be wrong, but I think this is their current plan, console port and maybe even a junk mobile version.
  4. I think you will find the internal reaction is more like "How dare these ignorant peons not adore my Magnum Opus, they are just too stupid to understand my wondrous vision, its just so hard being the only one with vision!! Still they will learn to love it, they just need to play it on the live servers to see how wrong they are" Bioware is a complete mess of a sub company, Anthem exposed the monumental failings within and nothing has changed past a minor reshuffle.
  5. Its also human nature for people, when in a position to do so, to push their own ideas and preferences for how to do things in the face of the wider audience due to significant emotional investment in said ideas. SWG is the defining example of this and the current mess on test server also smacks of it.
  6. I am aghast that an allegedly "professional" company put this dreck into public testing. Ignoring for the moment the monumentally bad design and planning around the changes the fact that there was no UI to facilitate the system shows a monumental lack of planning and professionalism. The "hacky" way to set up your character is the stuff of closed alphas, not public test servers. Whoever made the choice to embarrass the company like this is literally terrifying because if he can do that his judgement is severely flawed so god knows what mess he is emotionally invested in and will push onto the playerbase. I thought after the Anthem debacle they would have cleared out the dead wood and put some actual systems and management in place, all signs point to no though.....
  7. This game needed a new engine at launch, Heroengine literally put out a press release disavowing their own product as Bioware bought a pre alpha version and bastardized it to the point that it embarrassed the creators. ESO used it as little more than a layout editor before binning it.
  8. Wow, this is not only terrible but its outright disturbing that someone inside the company thinks this is a good approach for things to go and has the confidence to present this mess to the players.
  9. As title says, since the patch there is a 1 second delay between ability "updates" in terms of lighting up abilities in range or unable to be used. For example, force leap into combat, all powers will be grayed out for 1 second even though you are in melee range (they will activate though). Another example, get stunned, abilities show as lit up (useable) and it takes 1 second before they gray out to indicate they are unusable due to the stun. Someone has added a flawed check somewhere or rearranged the check structure which is causing issues and update delays, there may be a reason for it but it looks terrible and while I am sure a lot of people are assuming this is a lag related issue and will go away this is not the case.
  10. Its because someone has done some significant chances in how the abilities function, which is why when 6.0 dropped several utilities were completely broken, they couldnt fix interloper at all so they took the function from the Nimble Master set and gave it to the utility. Now the Nimble Master set has a trash bonus which instead of it being a high uptime is 12s out of 3 minutes...... They cant refund because they would have to increase the cap of tech fragments (ignoring that it having a cap at all is dumb as hell) All because they changed stuff without understanding how it previously worked and a new guy wanted things to work how he wanted, now we have no timers on these idiot "stack" abilities and they ignored testers
  11. Pleased? Almost every bug you launched with was clearly identified on the test server, most of them are simple database fixes AND you took an extra month for something which most people would not call an "expansion" The next patch is addressing things clearly identified on test and was ignored so who cares about you deploying 6.1 to test because Bioware clearly doesnt care about issues and feedback from testers. I would suggest instead of this banal "everything is fantastic" joke of a post you identify and own up to glaring flaws and show a little humility, something like "It didnt go as smoothly as we had hoped, we were unable to allocate resources to squash the myriad of blatent bugs before launch" would go down much better than self congratulatory dross like "We are extremely pleased with the launch of the expansion" If you were truly pleased with the launch of onslaught I would hate to see how low the bar was because in any other industry you wouldnt get away with the poor quality mess you made, like having to CHANGE abilities because you cant fix them to how they used to work due to whatever code changes you made for "onslaught" like on the perk interloper.
  12. Not only are they miserable, they were never fun in the first place and was only ever annoying "content"
  13. Its dumb as hell, on imperial side you get one companion while if you are republic you get 2 which makes a massive difference.
  14. Have they signed off thanking you for playing a different EA game? One tyou dont own yet?
