  1. I'm thinking of starting a Knight toon but I've heard they don't get a healing companion until later in the game. Is it possible to use the ship droid as a healing companion? I've heard that you can but I don't see how. Thank you in advance for any helpful comments!
  2. I should probably explain that a little better. My only other experience with an MMO is DCUO on the PS3. Sony had some bumps and hiccups along the road in the first few months as well. A few times, after something went wrong, Sony sent an email to every toon with a few extra points of this or that. I really appreciated that kind of personal touch. They took ownership of the problem and apologized. I respect that. This year I got a PC just so I could play SWTOR, and I wanted to see what a real MMO was all about. After the first month the experience took a nose dive. What we're missing on my server is an actual community and an economy. We've lost the MM out of the MMO. 90% of the leveling I've done is solo, because by the time I was proficient enough with keyboard controls to join any kind of group there wasn't anyone left to group with. I bought an MMO and got a single-player game. I'm confident that will change for the better, and I'm not planning on un-sub'ing like everyone has been raving. I would just hope for a little love from Bioware. An acknowledgment of, "Hey we had a rocky patch there, thanks for sticking with it."
  3. First off, I have to say thank you Bioware for bringing us this game. We would not be upset right now if we didn't truly care about this game and the community of friends we've made here. I believe that all of us founders who have stuck with you for the past 3 months deserve some kind of reward for our loyalty. Nothing huge or overly expensive , just an acknowledgment that we stuck with you. In Feb on my server there were at least 30 people on any given planet, and 150 people on the fleet. For the last 30 days I've not seen more than 8 other people on the fleet, and no more than 3 on any planet I've been on. Those are peak numbers, not average. Yesterday a Jedi ran by me and threw down the Force Might buff for me. I actually stood there for a couple minutes trying to figure out why I had another status effect showing on my toon. It had been so long since I encountered another player character I was stumped by that formerly common act of in-game kindness. So we've paid our $60 for SWTOR, and then we've paid another $45 for KOTOR 3. Isn't that worth a pet or something? I would love to remember this as the time Bioware fixed a serious issue and really showed appreciation for their loyal fans. Anyone agree with me?
  4. Right now it's primetime on the free-pass weekend, and there are only 5 other people on the last two major planets I been to on this server. The 3 friends who got me started on this game have all cancelled their subs until the server problem is fixed. They can't wait 5 hours for a PVP match just to give up in frustration. Even if the TOR is still a success at 500k subs that still leaves the other 1.5 million people who've purchased this game stranded in the Dune Sea. Is my subscription counting down to endgame oblivion? Help me Bioware Kenobi, you're my only hope...
  5. Thank you for the tips! I just looked into the specs and it's a Dell Small Form Factor case with a 235w power supply. I believe that's the largest they make in that line, so I think I'm humped on this one...
  6. Hello All, My job gave me a slim Dell desktop tower and I'd like to upgrad the graphics card to run SWTOR. Canyourunit.com tells me the system checks out except for the video card. This slim tower has a single PCI slot for a graphics card to run it. I tried an older PNY GeForce 8400GS but that didn't work. Actually I that card is a dud becuase my system freezes if I open two or more tabs of Internet Explorer. Does anyone know what would be a good choice for a small case like that? $150 or less would be good. I don't know if it's related, but the current power supply is only about 300w. Recommendations? Thank you in advance....
  7. Whoah...keybindings? I have my attack skills mapped to the number keys but that's it. I was thinking it would be effective to chain them together into combo's. Maybe one combo for melee attackers that rush you, another one for mobs, etc. Is that keybinding? Is there a manual for this stuff?
  8. Holy Cow, that would be awesome! I still want to learn to do this the right way with a keyboard though. I would much rather be a contributing member of team rather than the target dummy who's only capable of random aggression if you wander too close...
  9. Hello All, I'm totally new to MMO's and I'm only used to gaming with a console controller. I need some really rudimentary help with my Jedi character. With my first trooper character it's easy to toggle from target to target and direct the battle as needed. But I just realized that in melee combat with my Jedi I just stand in one spot and kick my target until he's down, then I lose a couple seconds realizing that I have to move into range for another target. I didn't know how bad I sucked until I tried PVP for the first time. It was just a bad slideshow of me on fire mostly. So I lowered the graphics settings to fix the framerate and then I could clearly see how bad I sucked... So what keysets work best for melee combat? Arrow keys? WASD? Mouse? Literally where do you all put your hands? What bad habits should I correct with PC MMO combat? I'd love to find out what's working for you guys that know what you're doing. Thanks for the help!
