  1. annnd, it didn't. well, i guess i'll just have to deal with it, then. i wouldn't think an i7-7700HQ would have a problem running an 8 year old game, but i guess it is what it is.
  2. hmm, i'll try that, but i don't think it'll help.
  3. so, after getting back into the game, i've noticed that i have terrible frame rate problems in warzones, no matter what my settings are on. i have absolutely no idea how i can better optimize this. outside of warzones, i can run at 60 fps no problem. inside? it's somewhere between 15-30 and keeps jumping everywhere. if it was a steady 30, it wouldn't be so bad, but the constant stuttering and frame pacing issues makes it a chore to play. is there anything i can feasibly do to help with this?
  4. i've checked all that and it only has the default UIs and a <character> 1, which is what it said it failed to load. i'm guessing that i'm just screwed.
  5. so, i just recently came back and i reinstalled it right back to where it was before. i figured since i hadn't changed/removed anything, i'd just be able to load up all my old keybindings and layouts just fine, right? well, keybindings were fine, but apparently, my layout was erased or something else. i forgot to re-subscribe when i first logged back in, so, when i loaded up my character, it said, "unable to load <character> ui" or something to that effect. when i started running around, i realized i hadn't re-subscribed, so, i did that really quickly. i started messing around with my UI and i couldn't find the settings that i previously had. i even navigated to the GUI folder underneath the AppData/Local/SWTOR/settings and it said it was last modified back in Feb 2019, which is when i last played, but when i try and load it, it just brings up the default UI. so, did i accidentally screw myself over? i do remember vaguely how my UI was, so, it wouldn't be a huge deal to re-do it, but, if i can avoid it, that'd also be fantastic.
  6. so, i recently rejoined the game and i saw ye olde Senator Kayl and i wanted to recreate her, but, i'm having issues finding the right face for her. there's some that are close, but... not quite the same. i did find this website that apparently has her customization info, but, i haven't a clue how to read it. https://swtor.jedipedia.net/en/npc/senator-vanara-kayl does anyone know the exact facial customization options for her? i'd like to use her face for my next character.
  7. for random queues? no. it probably won't work well. how would they determine your rank? kills? deaths? healing? assists? objective score? protection? there's just too many numbers here to balance it correctly. if they did this, it'd be broken beyond belief. how much you win/lose? then you come to the original problem you had and why you suggested the system: you get roflstomped or you roflstomp. honestly, just wait for the 'ranked' mode. solo queue is solo queue. its pretty much a dice roll.
  8. pretty much this, but i've noticed this is relevant for most classes, but its also true for each healer AC.
  9. rofl. a scoundrel has the least tools to survive focus fire and are squisher then both sages - because of a lack of bubble - and commandos because they have no armor and less survivability cds: no knockback, dodge is a pitiful excuse for a cd, their shield doesn't absorb that much and HoTs tick for nothing without PvP gear and trauma. emergency medpacks refund is a huge gimmick. it won't make ANYONE invulnerable to damage. all it does is delay the inevitable. i've kept people up with it on my scoundrel, sure, but the person trying to kill my ally was terrible. also, the triage talent for scoundrels is currently bugged and healing twice. it'll get fixed. the sage's cleanse heal heals for about 500 (lol). it doesn't matter how good the scoundrel is. more then one person focus firing them will probably end with the scoundrel dead unless there's a HUGE gear discrepancy.
  10. tanks aren't that great for leveling. aric would be more useful.
  11. ^ what he said. but personally, i like this spec better: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800bfRMRkcdkqZMIk.1 its very, very slightly different. if you don't like first responder, you can always switch it for med zone. or top out the CSC talent and put one point into med zone, etc. i do love steadied aim/muzzle fluting rather then heavy trooper/advanced tech. you can pop super-charged cells and spam charged bolts for zero cells and with your shield up, your skills can't be interrupted and have zero pushback.
  12. yeah, that's what i'm guessing you're 'supposed' to do, but 3% extra damage doesn't really... seem like a lot, especially at low levels. however, the random proc on plasma cell seems to proc enough to make it worthwhile. idk. i usually just keep plasma cell on and switch to CSC when i need it, like, when i solo heroic 2s, etc.
  13. topic. just a quick question: when doing solo PvE content, which cell should i be using? i kinda prefer the extra DoT damage from the plasma cell over CSC. plus, if i do need it, i can always swap. armor-piercing cell doesn't seem to help much for combat medic. so yep. which one: plasma or support?
  14. honestly, the scoundrel HoT isn't really better then the sage one. the sage one gives a 10% armor buff too, has an instant heal attached and gives their next healing spell a buff. it beats out the commando one, but barely and kolto cloud is a piece of **** for PvP. don't bother speccing it. its decent in PvE, but PvP? not worth it. a hybrid spec would be better. they also have the worst resource system. heat/cells are better because they have super-charged cells/gas to reduce their heat and the cost of their heals in-directly (via a. medical probe proc) and almost no scoundrels spec for the DS talents in PvP, so, we only have cool head to keep our energy down. plus, hammer shot free heal is much better then DS because its mobile and only requires one GCD to heal as much as DS. but, scoundrel is still fun to play, which, is why i'm still playing them, despite the other two healers being arguably better. but anyway, onto the spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701MffMzhRozZMIbodkM.1 23/18/0 is probably the best hybrid spec we have. i'm going to go 28/13/0 personally because i do like the accomplished sawbones talent, especially with the upcoming surge nerf and the fact i have no expertise (yet). plus, speccing into scrapper gives you a 2% health regen every 3 seconds. on-top of your SRMP, it puts out decent healing. honestly, to do any kind of hybrid healing, i, personally, feel you need to AT LEAST put 23 points into the tree. the triage heal is great and EMP proccing at less than 30% health is a great talent. i feel those are way too good to pass up. plus, speccing further into scrapper doesn't really give you a huge damage increase. there's also the HoT 'n DoT build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701MffMzhRozZZhrRord.1 i haven't tried this out, but people have had success with it. on paper, however, the scrapper-hybrid variant seems superior.
