  1. Hey guys. I tried searching the forums for an answer on this but I was wondering whether the old pvp champion gear tokens can be traded in for current gear, commendations or even credits anymore? My bounty hunter still has like 5 chest pieces, 10 gloves, 15 feet, etc, back when we would open those gambler's addict pvp bags we all bought with commendations. Thanks in advance for the answers.
  2. Mobility for snipers is where we suck. Where we excel for burst DPS at long range, we trade that off for limited mobility. The way to offset that is to try and choose a cover spot that is out in the open where the least amount of obstacles where people can LOS you. This reduces the chance of you needing to leave cover and move to a new location so you can pew pew again. Try not to setup cover in places near pillars or walls as any smart opponent will fight you with their backs towards making your knock backs ineffective. The cover mechanism does take some getting used to. I disliked it at first but once I gave it a chance, I discovered it is great if you have some patience. Once in cover, your quickbar toggles to a new one where you need to ensure all your abilities that can only be used while in cover are setup (snipe, ambush, series of shots, etc). Some people love it, some hate it. If you level your sniper through your story line, you will learn how to use your cover at a nice pace killing npc's. Learning how to use it while pvping is sometimes frustrating and can be discouraging if you haven't gotten enough time to learn it through PVE. I hope this helps.
  3. From my experience as a sniper, 1v1 vs a Powertech/Vanguard is the easiest as long as you can keep him away from melee range long enough to get enough good hits to give you a head start. Always entrench as the prevents them from grappling you and AOE attacks are 60% reduced if you specced this. I won't go into details but a sniper has a counter to almost any attack that this class tries on you. I usually win 1v1 in this scenario. The only time I ever lose is one catches me off guard without my entrench in place and even then I can win if my opponent is not better than average. The toughest 1v1 is a concealment operative / scoundrel. The reason being is they will stealth and wait for your entrench to drop before appearing and keeping you CC'd while he drops your *** to below half health before you can even get back on your feet. We are squishy when not in cover so this 1v1 fight is not in our favor. I hope this info helps.
  4. Hi everyone. I'm a 50 marksman Sniper with half WH, half EWH gear at valor rank 67. I'm am looking for an organized RWZ group to join on server - Prophecy of the Five. The ideal group would place fun first above all where members will try to play their class to the fullest without being elitist. A group who will share the good times and will not dwell on the bad. I'm an active player in the evenings and weekends so if there are any RWZ groups out there who thinks i can be a good fit, please post here or send me a PM. Thanks!
  5. Hi Everyone, Re-subbed after many months since I let my 6 months run out from the start of early access back in Dec 2011. I have a Rakata/BM geared 50 BH Merc and currently leveling a Sniper (level 28 as of today). I used to be on VEELA and was moved to POT5 by default. I am interested in being part of guild as a social member to start. Here is my wishlist for the guild I want to be a part of: 1. +18 adult only (working professionals is ideal) 2. People who understand that RL comes first before SWTOR. I have a family with 2 screaming kids that needs the occasional diaper changes. 3. Fun people to socialize and run WZ's, FP's with 4. People who play their class to the fullest and can have fun without being elitist 5. A small guild is preferred but not a deal breaker 6. A place where maturity is a must and the occasional outbursts of F-bombs, PVP trash talk, and smut is tolerated. Let me know if there is a guild out there for someone like me. PM's preferred. Thanks for reading.
  6. Your suggested method still entails killing the commander second where you instanly get credit for clearing the FP as soon as he dies. If you wipe on the third guy AFTER the commander dies, the group will not be able to enter the FP to do the encounter again and loot the chest. This needs to be fixed!
  7. Last night I ran a Boarding Party Hardmode and we got to the last boss where there is a commander, chief and medic trio that needed to be killed. We killed the chief, and while were were downing the commander, the tank and healer died so only the two dps were still alive. By the time the dps killed the commander, our health was hanging by a thread and the medic ended up wiping the two of us. The problem: The game gives you credit as soon as the commander dies but since the medic killed us, we didn't get to loot. When we popped to the white nova after our death, the FP was considered done and we could no longer enter it since the last boss died. ***? We couldn't do the encounter again to loot it. The easy fix: Don't give credit for the FP until all 3 bosses die. And better yet, allow the FP to be re-enterable even AFTER we get credit in case people want to do skipped bonus bosses, etc. I can't believe that this was missed. I'm sure this has happened to many others. Yes, some of you will say "kill the commander last" but the FP should not operate this way in the first place.
  8. OMG you guys. Who cares if there are people who start ahead of you? Is this a race to level 50? I think not. A couple of months from now, you will all not care when you got EA. Sit back and enjoy the game for what it is when it is your turn to log in. If getting ganked by higher level people bothers you, the roll on a PVE server. Simple as that. Be happy that the game is finally releasing!
