Mako has +15 effectiveness bonus. It has nothing to do with crit chance. It only speeds mission completion time. It is noticeable only on unlockable missions, where Mako cuts 2 hour mission into 90-100 minutes one.

i believe it's some sort of anti-pwl system. Many games block an instance after it was consequently finished N times

that's true. Being a healer a barely had to heal anyone up. Only if a lone smash was not interrupted. So i was shooting him as well. Strange thing, he doesn't seem to become much tougher after enrage. Wipe comes only if you miss two smashes a row. First times my party downed him 20-25 seconds after enrage.

Um... when equipping companions was even a little bit tough? If you want a specific item though, why don't you roll with friends or something?

investigation and diplomacy are known to bring mission discoveries sometimes, though it is quite rare. Slicing is the best bet.
