  1. So, 1) I think this is an awful idea and a waste of resources that they could put into other things 2) has no one done the speeder quest on Ziost? The thing randomly stops moving and is just awful and you think that a racing mini-game would be any better?
  2. I experienced a weird bug with outfit designer creating an outfit out of gear I've never had on a character. When it was released, I skipped the first tab and started filling in, and buying, subsequent tabs. The other day I logged in and my first tab was now populated with gear I have in collections, but haven't unlocked nor have ever had on this particular character.
  3. So you think that a single person buying the Revan Reborn armor set and depositing it into the guild and allowing all (potentially) 500 people to use that armor isn't dramatic? That's literally billions out of the market (pants alone for around 10,000,000 x 500 = 5,000,000,000). How is that not a dramatic blow to the economy? I am of the same opinion as Ratajack, if you already own the piece, fine allow the guild uniform, but not for a pittance or for free. Also, I maintain that this is a huge waste of resources. Edit: And your post misses the fact that, other than the financial burden of guild members buying their own gear, which SHOULD remain, the ability to do this already exists. You can already enforce a guild uniform if that floats your boat. No one is stopping you. Go run amok.

Bioware's stance on this, at least when they first implemented combat logs at all, was that they don't want people's feelings to be hurt for doing bad DPS, so the logs produced will only ever show things that you do, or things that are done to you. The game doesn't even keep track of your other party member's actions so it can't produce any sort of damage meters. Personally, I think its a carebear stance that caters to the bads. The only reason people wouldn't want a damage meter to show their damage is if they are doing poor damage. Its frustrating to me that we have to rely on third party tools that must then use third party servers to collect our data and disseminate it to the people in your group to tell if you're not beating an encounter because someone is only pulling 700 DPS. To me, if the game doesn't provide the tools necessary to analyze your group's performance then it still lacking core features.
  5. Again, you have a faulty premise. The only reason slot machines were so popular was because they gave a very high return on investment. You got an unprecedented return on investment really. The slot machines during the casino event? People played them because they wanted a Rancor, not because clicking the slot machine was fun. If we follow the examples you laid out, the only way a mini-game would be popular in the long-term is if it either gave a very rare and coveted reward (in which case eventually people would stop playing it anyway because they'd either get the reward or too frustrated to continue, so its still not a long-term value) or very high return on investment (in which case you'd really cause astronomical inflation which also isn't viable). Lets look at the slot machines, that you pointed out as an apt parallel, right now. Do very many people use them at all? Not anymore. Why? Because they don't get anything out of it.
  6. You claiming something doesn't make it fact. I am claiming it does have plenty to do with the issue and is the root of the problem. So, I guess our claims invalidate one another bringing it back to a neutral point. You aren't the authority on anything, you don't get to make claims and then reference yourself as though it were a supported fact. It is your opinion and that's all and your opinion holds no more weight than mine. That's just nonsense. Obligation has everything to do with it. You can claim that smoking kills and yet, which is definitively worse than losing some fake money. Yet, no store owner is under any obligation to stop people from buying cigarettes. There is a problem and they aren't correcting it. Its not even that cut and dry because BioWare isn't even selling you the cigarettes or the "magic beans", they are just facilitating the transaction which gives them even LESS obligation to try and fix the problem. The owner of the land on which a farmer's market is held is under no obligation to police its sellers to determine the validity of their sales, or to stop each seller and ask them "do you really want to buy these magic beans?". There is no obligation there and obligation begets action. If they aren't obligated to protect people, then they don't have to take any action. Your entire premise is that BioWare is obligated to do this and they have to because you said it really loudly and berate and insult anyone who disagrees with you. You're not asking them to do it, you're saying they have to because you're trying to be the loudest voice in the room. In actuality, you're just the vocal minority and a reason BioWare will never implement this. I am an intelligent person and I subscribe to the theory of personal responsibility and reject this proposition entirely.
  7. The entire premise is still entirely flawed. BioWare is under no obligation to protect people from themselves just like a grocery store is under no obligation to to stop you from buying cigarettes or 100 packages of twinkies, or 100 liters of vodka. BioWare is under no obligation to protect people from themselves and to claim otherwise is just trying to offload personal responsibility to someone else as to avoid accepting the ramifications of your actions. The owner of the parking lot a farmer's market is held in is under no obligation to stop a shady vendor from selling you "magic beans".
  8. I cannot activate the terminal that is furthest East on the map in the Agent class quest on Rishi, "Forfeit". I have relogged, I've closed and re-opened the game, I've reset the quest and nothing seems to work. The terminal, that looks like all the other terminals, just isn't lit up.
  9. So based on some prompting from reddit, I went back and changed the way I was looking at the data. I wrote a script that parses the log files and looks for these codes to determine if something is defensible or not: DODGE="836045448945505" DEFLECT="836045448945508" MISS="836045448945502" PARRY="836045448945503" Which should eliminate Resilience from confusing whether an ability is defensible. From there, it takes the average of the incoming attacks before mitigation where it can determine that as the logs don't tell you what an attack would have hit you for if it misses, and then multiplies that by the amount of times the attack happened giving, what I'd think would be a pretty reasonable assessment of average damage during the fight. The script then takes the things that were defensible and the things that weren't and generates the percentage of incoming damage that could be affected by Defense.   10. So I went through the damage I took this week and broke it down by "things I defended against" and "things I did not defend against". I figured that's a pretty solid way to determine if something is melee/ranged or force/tech. I added up the number from what I took and from that the percentage of damage from defensible sources and non-defensible sources presented itself.   11. You are constantly saying that people need to "use their brains" implying that they aren't currently. You never said "HEY GUYZ I'M SUPER SMARTER THAN YOU!!!" but its the entire gist of your missives. You know what other people have also said in this thread? There are two sentiments: I have think I look pretty: This boils down, at its core, to the special snowflake. I take offense when I'm judged by my gear: Now this can go both ways. Either they have horrible gear and know it, or they have horrible gear but think they've done something super special and unique. That's it. The vast majority of posts are opposed to the proposal and the few people who are in favor fall into these categories.
  12. What is your other reason? You keep saying there are more than two, but I don't think that the word "more" means what you think it means because you haven't pointed another one. Instead you just keep condescendingly saying you have "special synergy" hoping to bully other people into not responding, but really you're saying you think you're a special snowflake that has done something special and unique that no one else has had the intelligence to figure out. You keep saying "more than" two, but I really think you mean "equal to" two.
  13. Nice condescending attitude, but I notice you never responded to any of the points I brought up. You know why people say you think you are a special snowflake? Because someone who wants to not be inspected is either trying to hide their bad gear or think that how they geared is so special and superior to anyone else that they want to hide it because they think it gives them an advantage. If you didn't think you were a special snowflake why would you care if someone inspected your gear? What mental gymnastics are you going to run through to justify this cognitive dissonance? "I don't think I'm a special snowflake!" "HEY! MY GEAR IS SO SPECIAL NO ONE CAN LOOK AT IT!"
  14. The "elitists" would just kick you outright then rather than perhaps giving you some helpful feedback like "hey, you need to have less alacrity" or something. Instead they'll just kick you outright instead of trying to walk you through allowing inspections through the control panel. I wouldn't waste the time on it, I'd just kick.
  15. Yes please dual-spec. People who keep repeating the "field respec" argument have never tried to change from healer to DPS or vice versa. It isn't just the utility points, its the action bar that is the crux of the issue.
