  1. Tank LFG (or subs) for HM/HM+ raiding. Republic, Shadow, DK/306/blue augs. Available all nights Pacific except Tuesday (could do after 9PM on Tues). Played game since launch through DF, with those ops all cleared on HM. EC cleared on NiM and a few individual bosses after that. Took a break, came back about 3 months ago. Post-DF ops only cleared on SM. Clarin in-game or clarinhodco#2909 on Discord.
  2. Eric, I appreciate your updates, and I know these issues aren't your fault. I do ask you'd pass along some dissatisfaction from someone who's played since launch. KotFE was promised with monthly updates as I recall; the first update is taking around 3 months. PvP and Space PvP have gotten no improvements in forever (never mind space PvE); and KotFE completely breaks the narratives of the content you run outside it. The recurring events are also the same and recycled, and a companion is currently locked behind a broken one. What I find most disappointing though, is that KotFE itself is quite good. The problem is it feels like a bunch of content was dropped at once, and there weren't be ongoing updates of note to game, just Cartel Packs. This is what happened post-launch, post-Makeb, etc. I'd like to see the game succeed, but it currently feels like the approach taken is "drop content, see if that increases revenue, if so, do more." That just doesn't work - people need to see a real roadmap of planned improvements, and to all game systems. Without this, you lose people, which destroys guilds, which guts the ability to do endgame content. I hope you view this as the constructive criticism its intended to be. I don't envy your job, but I've always appreciated your candor with the community. Shayne / The Hodcos @ The Harbinger
  3. That's just embarrassing to blame the relic. It shows a complete lack of understanding, skill, and class on the tank's part. The proper, gentlemanly thing for the tank to do in this situation is, as all good tanks know, blame the healer! Clarin Hodco, Shadow Tank & Whiner Extraordinaire
  4. I'll help! Here's my Eric Musco signed "H2F" Starfighter poster! The Hodcos @ The Harbinger
  5. That makes sense, thanks. (Wait, we share our math with the smelly troopers and "classic movie" Jedi?!) Clarin
  6. Do we have a thread going that links to all the theorycrafting that's been done? I realized in reading over the 3Q's I missed some posts, perhaps we could keep a thread going to link to new theorycrafting posts and code? Clarin Hodco, The Hodcos @ The Harbinger
  7. Eric, Would you considered merging the forums for the mirrored ACs, and hence the representatives? I know the Shadow/Assassin community basically worked as one on their Top 3 (in fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but it was actually the Assassin Qs but using Shadow terms). It would certainly make locating the most recent guide, theorycrafting, gearing, etc. for a class easier. The Hodcos @ The Harbinger
  8. I think you need to add something about "making them pay" for not having the patch ready on time. Clarin @ The Harbinger
  9. I think KBN did an excellent job on the top 3 questions / 50 Theses of Shadowing; I know some people are unhappy that their personal high priority issue didn't get top billing, but he had a *ton* of issues to go through, and the final questions (especially the tank question) are exceptionally well written and calculated to actual get constructive feedback (while preempting easy objections as well). I vote him a 400% raise, with a 100% bonus contingent upon developer response. Do we have an aggregate guide to all of the shadow tank theorycrafting? I follow the forum fairly well, but some of it was new to me. Thanks, Clarin @ The Harbinger
  10. I am also having the trouble that manual shutdown will not show as complete in the weekly. I completed MS at least 3 times; finally abandoned the weekly mission, reacquired it, did everything, still MS will not check off in the weekly. This is on a gunslinger on the Harbinger. Other toons haven't had this problem, but it's persistent on this one. EDIT: I was using Corso most of the time, but I'm not sure if all the time.
  11. Not on NiM 55 Ops, and certainly not as a Shadow tank on those ops. But OP is probably at least 3 months away from being able to attempt one, hence my advice to roll whatever he likes. Clarin
  12. Roll any class you want, even if people complain it's underperforming. You'll need to get to level 55 and have mid-to-high gear before the underperfoming thing really becomes a problem; in the meantime, patches can change the balance. Clarin
  13. The problem with discussing average values is that averages are misleading when it comes to gambling-type problems where falling to zero ends the game. A friend of mine took a class from Sam Savage (author of The Flaw of Averages) and quotes him as: 'if a drunk performs a random walk between the shoulders of a highway, his average value is the center median. His expected value is dead.' Same with shadows. Expected value doesn't matter when HP=0 ends the parse. Clarin @ The Harbinger
  14. I move that all correspondence with the devs we change spikiness to "variance-to-mean ratio of damage sustained substantially in excess of that experienced by the other tanking classes." Might force them to pick up a stats book and learn something. (What does our damage distribution - I realize that's broad question - say against the big droid in S&V NiM - look like? Perhaps the magenta beta distribution here, but mirrored - disproportionate to higher values above the mean? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Beta_distribution_pdf.svg ) Actually, perhaps a high-sigma logit? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logitnormal Clarin Hodco @ The Harbinger, squishy tank and bad statistician
  15. Courtney, I know you didn't write the posts in question, but you should make it known to those who did that they were unacceptably rude, condescending, and snarky to their paying customers. Even if we assume (wrongly) the questions by both classes were asinine and did nothing but expose themselves as, term of art, "clueless newbs", more tact was in order. In particular, the people being addressed are the most devoted and skilled of your customers. If by group consensus your best players raise an issue, it might be worth humoring them. Regardless, with the exception of Steve Jobs, this is not how the representatives of a multi-billion dollar corporation address their customers in a public forum. Shayne The Hodcos @ The Harbinger
