  1. the mistake you are making is in thinking that 'orange' means 'unique' - it doesnt. it means 'fully moddable'. all orange items have the same base stats - basically none - all of their armour value (NOT type, that is preset) and stats is from the modifications they have in them. the only reason for different orange items is for different looks.
  2. having not played an inquisitor to that level.... surely you have to take that conversation with a pinch of salt? you're in the process of trying to corrupt her, i hardly think lying is beyond you
  3. which just goes to show that choosing to interpret prophecies in a selfish way is a bad idea so your there, the jedi basically rule the galaxy, there are at most 2 sith around at any one time. and you get told 'this bloke here, he'll bring balance to the force!' now to me, theres definitely 2 ways to interpret that. either it means 'he'll wipe out the sith, and make the force all balanced, because afterall - jedi = balance'... or it means 'he'll balance out the sides, make it so sith are equal in power to jedi'. now personally, i think going 'obviously it means the first one, it definitely must!' is a pretty reckless and dangerous thing to do.
  4. we're the equivalent in gameplay terms, that doesnt mean we have to be equivalent in storyline terms too. i'm sure the empire have smugglers that work for them too, and the republic probably have some bounty hunters working for them, and i'd be highly surprised if there wasnt some form of 'republic intelligence' agency too.... but in gameplay terms, these things do not exist.
  5. ./agree. shouldve just made a 'stim slot' and an 'adrenal slot' and then made it so that biochem made items that go in them (and of course, items could drop for them). personally i'd have had these 2 slots instead of the existing implant slots, as i think having a pair of main-lined stim injectors into your bloodstream is more interesting
  6. soloed easily as a shieldtech with Mako healing me. took a little while i guess, but no real problem. OPs post amuses me, especially with his sig underneath it
  7. yeah, its going to be utterly ridiculous as it stands - you'll have 90% of people wearing whatever the lowest level craftable orange gear is, because thats the cheapest way to make *****loads of it for augment slots :/ really hope they come up with a good way round this. (making it so orange cant have aug slots? thats really the only way i can see it working...)
  8. haha, yeah only for lightside BHs though, the republic hasnt forgiven the meany dark ones yet
  9. i disagree. i felt that the lightside options went very well to give the impression of someone that starts of doing a job, and gets dragged more and more into it (often caused by his current enemies, who dont understand the concept of 'mercenary'), until eventually he's working for people that given the choice he'd leave lying in a puddle of their own, slightly burnt, blood.
  10. i was thinking the same as you - especially as an alien lightside bounty hunter. suffice to say though... its because the republic take things way too personally. i mean, i've hunted imperial officers, and nothing really comes of it. you kill a couple of Jedi masters (and maybe a cruiser i guess ) and the republic get really arsey about it.
  11. except you can mention the cult to him, and he basically says 'yeah, they're wrong. i regret that they exist'. anyway. as for 'omg 4 random people killed revan, what is this ****?!' from the fanboys... a) the emperor defeated Revan, and left him a broken shell, barely attached to his sanity. (he calls himself a lightside Jedi, and wants to wipe out trillions of civilians? right...) We just finished off the husk. b) we're not 4 random people. we're 4 of the empires greatest heroes (or have you not noticed that, by the stage of Foundry, all of our class questlines are basically about how we're the single most influential/powerful/effective person in the empire, within our areas of dominance?). This reminds me of the people playing WoW and complaining about how Arthas was killed by 10 nobodies - no he wasnt, he was killed by several of the greatest heroes of the alliance/horde, led by The Ashbringer himself, and supported by the combined military might of nearly the entire civilised world. c) Revan was not that cool a character. Nameless from Planescape:Torment was a much more epic character imo, and you dont get people complaining that in the end he was most likely killed by some random demon in the Blood War, shortly after regaining his mortality. (and if you dont know who Nameless is, then i dont really think you should get to judge RPGs, but whatever ). Once a character's story is told, and Revan's most assuredly was, then that character should die. he shouldnt be wheeled out time after time just to say 'look guys, its me, Revan! omg its like your playing Kotor 3, isnt it?!', which is what some people seem to want.
  12. personally, i found it to be fine... i cant remember exactly how i did it from 25-40... at 40 i bought the Raptor pvp gear, and around 45-48 i managed to get the Master Powertech set together. you only really need chest, legs, feet, and gloves to match. i dont remember ever looking all that ridiculous tbh.
  13. i think this is the main problem, tbh. even a heavy server feels empty, so it must be *********** awful on a low-pop server (and even worse on the under-represented side on a lowpop...) i play on Red Eclipse, which all through prelaunch was one of the top 3 busiest servers, frequently with 1-2hr queues to logon (i didnt change because that was the server my guild had been assigned to so we were all there), and yet when you finally got on after your 2hr queue... where were the people? after hutta, i was never on a planet with more than about 50 other people. Fleet still only had 1-200 people on it. fast-forward to today, and fleet still only has about 1-200 people on it, i'll guess the planets are even emptier (hell, i know they are, from levelling my alts). and yet the server still shows as being very busy. "ah!" you might say "they must be all on republic side!" - except that they're not. i've not played rep side myself much, but the starting planets look no busier than the imp ones, and if the WZ pvp is anything to go by, then Rep side is very underpopulated (given how rarely we get civil war or voidstar pop, compared to doing huttball vs other imps). so if even the busy side of a heavy server feels empty... :/
  14. yeah, thats what i dont like too i guess its because the system has to be shared with the trooper? ah well. personally, my hope when making a bounty hunter, was that the heat system wouldnt be a straight up resource like this... i'd hoped it would be a balancing act - we'd use lasers and missiles and punches etc to generate heat, and then we'd use flamethrowers to disipate it, and your flamethrower attacks would do more damage if you were hotter, but you wouldnt stay hot for long because of the heat you vented by using them, and all the time your heat would be trying to 'steady' itself to a midpoint... but i guess thats a bit too different from any other resource model
  15. i'm trying to think back on some of my class-quest bounties now.... but for the most part, most of the LS-DS choices have been of the 'take my mark in alive' vs 'take him in dead' variety - and i dont see any reason to not take them in alive - my client can still kill them the second i hand them over if they want to. it just gives more choice to my client, which is a good thing. i'm actually quite amused by the people who go all light or all dark and then whine that 'the games making my character do things they wouldnt!!'... take choices as choices, not just as a light or dark button... but i guess actually putting thought into it is more effort than just going 'hurr durr, i r teh evil, i will choose dark side'. i mean why, why, on the Brental Star (black talon flashpoint) would anyone choose to kill the general, if not just because they mindlessly click on dark side choices with no thought of consequences? he's already your *********** prisoner, why kill him rather than taking him back to be tortured? thats not a choice between light and dark, thats a choice between Taking-A-Valuable-Intelligence-Source and Actively-Sabotaging-The-Empire.
