  1. thanks for all the help guys it has really helped me better understand the gearing system in this game.
  2. I see , so i can take one orange chest piece gear, wear it to lvl 55 (buying mods to upgrade it) and sell all the other chest pieces i get while questing and looting?
  3. Hi guys, glad to be back and started on my lvl 22 jedi sage.I wanted to make sure i was gearing up properly on my way to 55 and had a few short questions to get me back up to speed. I'm trying to make sure my gear is up to par because my companion is getting hit pretty hard , but i don't want to spend too much credits on this. 1.I was told that the cheapest and best way to gear up without suffering "undergear issues" too much is getting orange gear and then buying new mods for it .Is that the best way to go ? or should i just continue using quest rewards and drops. 2 orange gear is commendation gear right? would it be easy for me to get a full set (and weps) then just buy mods every couple of levels?(btw can i get orange gear for my companion)? 3.I trying to dps as a jedi sage , but i would like to also heal, is there any prob with that? (all my talents are in TK and balance) i don't wanna get kicked from a group for bad performance and letting people die.I am trying to stack willpower though as per a dps guide i was reading.(i wanna dps for quest but heal for flashpoints so I get in faster)
  4. okjay thanks, i was interested in a bit of world pvp as well so i will head there and join the republic.I don't mind being outnumbered by the empire I think it would make the world pvp more interesting.
  5. okay how is the fatmans demo, is it primarily republic or empire players anyone know a rough ratio ?
  6. Just a quick question, i am coming back to swtor and would like to know the top 3 biggest in population servers dominated by the republic.
  7. wait where did these rumors come from or are we now , generating posts from dreams that we had last night now?
  8. Ideally you should never be able to easily solo a healer your level .In a balanced game this is how you kill a healer. 1.You beat them down till they use all their resources healing AND you can kill them because they have no resources to heal with . OR 2.You and a couple of friends come together to help and use team work to take one down.
  9. it's not bad so far, id realliy like them first off to introduea few things which they may get round to eventually. --Brackets, no 50's versus lvl 11's please --Allow players to create addons/macros i need me some power auras:) --In general make the character abilites, graphics more responsive and fluid, e.g agents taking forever sometimes to seek cover. but yeah I'm not seriously critical because i know the game is new and it will take time for this things to develop.
  10. but i want to know how good my group is based on it's individual members.I hope this sint a foreign concept to you.it's well known in real life situations.Every effective team has a an evaluation of it's mebers to make sure they are all equally contributing towards the goal of the group.Notice how i am broinging fporth the importance of each mebers as part of the group.after all the group emebers MAKE the group. The "group" is not this vague ghostly entity it is a several functioning players working together to achieve a goal. if your idea of measuring the success of a group is "we downed the boss, end of story" then that's fine. Your concern with this thread is at a minumum since this thread is dedicated to those who want more power to micro manage groups and make sure we don't have people unecessarily under-performing. I know what your response is going to be, that you don't want people telling you how to play or what to do.fine nobody wwants to.i am sure you can find a group of like minded individuals in the game that would love to play without the option of addons or macros, please also note that these are OPTIONS. I have never seen any game where people were forced to use addons and macros , if anything even wow has several players who use the stock ui without any issues.Whil some players use amzing diverse ui's which also make them happy. So what am i gettign at here?? Both factions,(people who love addons and those who hate it) can co-exist happily. They have in several games and I have never heard of any game where addons/macros have totally killed it.
  11. This is a game , the main aim is not just to kill bosses but to do so effectively, and better each time. You could always over gear the instance and complete the raid much faster. which dmage meters players can gauge their personal performance on a boss encounter.Id like to know how well i did after all it is a game like i said and part of the fun is doing better, progressing getting gear etc, i wanna see the improvements, don't you? without meters you can't tell who is doing better, the boss will die, that's obvious but what helped the most?? or are you those "everyones a winner, we all get gold medals" type fellow?
  12. great generalisation, the main of the game is to be good at what you do thats what drives people to play the game ...too get better. If you are in a raid and using damage meters, it makes it easier to notice the extremes.Like for example a healer in the group doing 20%-10% of the heals while one healer does like 90% of the heals .If they are both the same class and spec then surely something is wrong. People will be jerks with or without addons/macros.You can either tell the poor performer that "hey what spells are you using or hows your gear?" or you can be rude to him or her. Having addons /macros does not make people rude, lets just remove that relationship right now
  13. First off you need to realise wow moved to a "priority system" .Intelligent "watch" macros were abolished so no macro will check your "buffs" and press stuff for you. Bioware can limit the types of macros used, like MANY MANY people have said macros are just to make things easier because no game will have 100% useful buttons and skills. for example I am used to using one button to activate my pre-combat buffs, i could have one button for each and everyone , but does that really make or break the game whether i use one or two buttons to buff? before combat.
