  1. PTS (for me) has been offline since phase I Thursday, July 24th. When will it return?
  2. There should be a cancel sub button on the top of the subscription page. EA and BW are terrible. I wrote a complaint to EA BW about this after I was billed for two accounts a total of 6 months of subs and they told me BOO HOO TOO BAD FOR YOU. I even offered to accept sub credits (not cash refund) and they still told me to go pound sand. I had to replace my subscription billing data with empty fields to stop the billing. SHAME ON EA SW. Terrible management!
  3. When and where did you find this? What date? Posted in the bowels of the patch notes? READ my OP, I just came back to the game and re-subbed, I was not habitually digging through the patch notes, nor should I have to. Go to the home page on SWTOR and what do you see? Nonsense. Why not create a 2 inch square box for CURRENT PROMOTIONS? Buried in the patch notes, isnt advertisement. Fanboys like you will argue any nonsense no matter how wrong it is, just to defend your little video game. Pathetic. As a Subscriber, a paying customer, I should not have to dig through a pile on nonsense to find out what is on sale this week.
  4. That is probably true. Like MacDonalds isnt in the food business, but the real estate business. Nonetheless, they do sell hamburgers. Character transfers cost cartel coin which have a monetary value - they sell them for real money -- so when they temporarily lower the price, sorry to inform them, but it is a promotional item. Of course, they make money selling cartel coin, not items which you can use cc, so to hades with the customers, let them consume cartel coins faster and buy more! BW/EA had to discuss the change in character transfer prices and the duration of price reduction, at least once in a business meeting. Its mismanagement. BW/EA has a responsibility to inform their paying customers. Failure to do so, reveals a stunning arrogance and contempt they have for their customers!
  5. I checked my one and only registered email with SWTOR for the past five years with my subscription account and I FOUND NO EMAIL INFORMING OF THE REDUCED CHARACTER TRANSFER. I re-subscribed on Dec 5th 2017 after quite some time from the game (disgusted by other terrible, uneven customer (dis)service policies that are rather capricious). NO notification whatsoever. My suggestion still stands. I had no idea the "sale" price was a promotion or not because there is no information for me to know. PS thank you for your responses. I only wish BW/EA had the courage to reply without sounding outrageously condescending and draconian. Just once.
  6. This is probably a huge waste of time, I dont expect EA to listen. As the header reads: put an expiration timer on all promo items - ALL! For example, cartel market promo item dye pack 50% off (next to it a timer showing hours:min:sec remaining). Just like the time remaining on players progress bars for 2xp/2cmp Promo on special subscription offer including starter pack etc... expiration timer. Promo 150 cartel coin per character transfer between servers ....expiration timer. You get the idea. I am tired of poorly "advertised" promos that suddenly disappear without warning. Not everyone memorizes patch notes, hangs out on voice chat with guild mates all day to hear "news" or play continuously to be informed "months ago" of some upcoming change. Expiration timers would solve the problem. Or at least post the exact date and time GMT. Thank you, if anyone from EA actually read this, which I serious doubt. PS For all of the die hard players who wish to flame this post because EA/SWTOR is your infallible god you worship - go jump in a lake and cool it. Constructive criticism is meant to make the game better - this game isnt perfect.
  7. Hello, I created 2 new characters on the Bastion PVP server, and I noticed there was no XP progression bar and no legacy icon on overhead menu bar. Therefore, no legacy feature is accessible whatsoever. I asked other players online if they had legacy features (or were they prohibited on PVP servers), and they replied that they did have access to Legacy. Furthermore, I read in recent Q&A on SWTOR forums about character transfers to the Bastion server re: legacy, and the consensus replies were that legacy levels would be transferable..again supporting the notion that legacy IS a feature on PVP servers. However, on my two new characters, there is no legacy whatsoever. Not just at level 1. There is NO progression bar nor an icon for legacy overhead. No Legacy features accessible at all. I am a subscriber and this is the first time I have seen this effect, all other characters on all other servers all have legacy features, whether I did a character server transfer or just started up a new character on a new server..there was always legacy, even if it re-initiated at level 1. I have started toons on a new server at level without a character transfer, and I did not have to reach level 30 end of chapter one to create a legacy....I have a toon at level 19 with a legacy and without completing chapter 1 ... Is this a bug?
  8. Why arent they (black, red, white and blue) allowed to durable?? Bioware could simply assign any dye pack it wants under my proposal (1) "craftable" or not , (2) "to durable and bound to legacy upon use" or not., any color at all and colors yet to come...I dont understand your comment. Any color that is currently craftable could simply stay craftable and single use only for continuity sake. Why are dye packs only worth something because they are single use only?? If a small subset of dyes were to be made durable, and bindable to legacy, then these dyes would surely be worth more. Possibly much more, and would not necessarily compete with less expensive, single use and craftable items. It would be simple to put a graphical symbol to indicate its bind to legacy status, perhaps even the current symbol found on all legacy gear to indicate that ability. Once again, I dont understand your comment .
  9. Well, if Free to Play WERE able to trade like subscribers in this situation in a flashpoint or ops, then it would be clear if (a) the F2P traded away the item (matter resolved), or (b) the F2P refused to trade the ill gotten item, and are hardcore ninjas not interested in fairplay, which in the latter scenerio the group could proceed to remove that player from the group and instance. I would prefer not to kick a free to play player who made an honest mistake and was willing to trade away the dropped item to a truly needing groupmate, but with the current restriction on free to play players its really impossible to tell..because they are unable to trade it away..so who can say. This would help prevent unwarrented removal of accidental needing F2P, in constrast to, actual hard core ninjas...who I refuse to finish a flashpoint or ops with since ninjas lack respect for their groupmates.
  10. The solution is intended for those players who voluntarily wish to rectify a sub optimal loot acquisition...not hard core ninjas. In my experience hard core Ninjas are relatively few, in fact, the majority of needs of this kind are accidental...they misread, misunderstood, or didnt read the description, or possibly thought somehow it was a useful item to them. When players message them in chat that its not an item they can use, and it would be better to trade it away to another player who does need and want it....most of the time (not always) the player with the useless loot WILL (if they are subscribers who CAN trade) open up a trade window and pass the item along to someone who truly needs the item. This should be the case with Free to Play players as well. Bioware should be interested in enabling fairplay in the game especially when integrating free to play players with the subscribers who wish to exchange loot items with a 2 hr timer between the participants.
  11. This post is prompted by a bad SWTOR experience that should be addressed. Whether it is an accidental need on loot which a player cannot use, or a reflexive half-hearted Ninja by an overzealous player, when this occurs between subscribers, it is often (not always) resolved by a brief chat with the player of the ill gotten loot to trade it to the appropriate player. That is one of the good uses of the 2 hour timer assigned to loot dropped in Flashpoints and Operations...those who participate can trade items i.e. give to another player participating. However, I had such an experience with a Free to Play Player who, after being messaged about needing a relic with shield and absorb and named, relic of shield amplification, a level 50 Merc (obviously no need for a shield/absorb i.e. Tank relic), casually replied, well I am a Free To Play player so I cant give it to you. (...and too bad for you subscriber) This gives Free to Play players, desperate for cash to have the perfect excuse not trading away a useless item for them. The GTN presently lists the item for 750,000 creds. I was missing that very relic. Its likely considering all of the other drops in the game were for other classes, and not aim/defense/shield/endurance Powertech friendly stats, that it was a need for this powertech, certainly not the merc , sorc or mara in that flashpoint. When I tried to trade, I received a message stating the player was Free TO Play and I could Mail an item. As far as I have read..that only applies if I wish as a subscriber to SEND TO a Free TO Play player but NOT RECEIVE FROM A F2P player. That F2P restriction actually PENALIZES SUBSCRIBERS who play with F2P players in flashpoints with dropped 2 hr bound timer loot. SOLUTION: ENABLE F2P players to trade loot with 2hr timer in the Flashpoint, or at least give them the ability to TRADE AWAY an item they wish to give to another player such as when an erroneous acquistion of loot occurs. Otherwise, I suggest subscriber stop playing in Flashpoints and other places with Free to play players who even if they wanted to, have no way to trade for a loot item in your group. It F2P can trade FOR LOOT ITEM ONLY with the 2 hr timer as subscribers do, then this problem will be solved.
  12. taking into consideration all of the discussion above, here is a simple proposal: Make rare dye packs (not craftable) or even a subset of these as a new class which have the unique feature to be durable and bind to legacy once installed on a piece of armor. This will enable (a) the preservation of rare dye packs (b) switching a rare dye pack to a new set of armor, then possibly transferring to an alt if placed in legacy gear © preserving the rarity of the item, since it will not be reproduced nor distributed once its bound to legacy (d) probably increase the demand and value of the durable, legacy bound packs both in cartel coin and ingame.
  13. Hi all (update), I have a gunslinger that I would like to get into a steady ops progression team starting on sm or hm content. This character is curently geared in 69/72 with a some set pieces of arkanian and underworld and augments. He is currently ready for SM and HM content, so it wont be long before this character will be well geared for all HM content. The character was successfully transferred this morning from the Shadowlands PVE server to Harbinger. Ideally, I would like to join an APAC guild since I live in Europe. The ingame character name is tel'ciber. Please msg me if there is an opportunity to participate in your guild. Many thanks. Cordially, tel'ciber 55 Gunslinger Harbinger (West) server Alternatively, if you leave a comment to this thread with your contact details, I will also try to reach you in-game and/or your website as well.
  14. Well, the contact listed above is a sage named Eviros (according to his signature) so its likely that are you are assuming correctly, although the OP ID is Iceman_Sith. Perhaps he has Empire and Republic toons. I lean towards the ingame info: Republic, too. Go figure.
