  1. Well, those are all fair points. I never played WOW so I don't have any first hand experience on these effects that cross server had there, but, what you describe certainly isn't something I'd like to see happen. But than again, I also wouldn't like to see a server merge happen. I think that having only one server for the entire NA would sign the death warrant of the game so based on that I guess I'm more disposed to cross server queces than I am to server mergers. From what you describe, it sounds like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
  2. That's actually a great idea. Tons of players would love to get some new story time with the original companions, especially LI companions.
  3. Well, it kinda stands to reason. Every character in the game other than the player character is an NPC. 😉
  4. Yeah, and that's kinda the rub. We all want the game to be better, improve and grow, and yet, at times, it seems like the only way to try and knock some sense into them is to speak to them in the only language they understand, by hitting their pockets. But, in doing so, that could have a negative effect on the game by futhering decreases the resources they have at their disposal to try and improve the game to to help it grow. So therein lies the dilemma. I just call it like I see it. I'm fine with patting them on the back when they do good and calling them out for their BS when they do bad. Your anger and discontent is justified. "Bugs" are a huge source of contention and one of the biggest complaints we see on the forums. They have a less than stellar track record when it comes to fixing some bugs. You'd think these days they would be fast to address things that people buy on the cartel market when their are issues with them considering its their biggest source of income.
  5. Nice! That's great news! Opens up a lot of options for the future. Very glad to hear it. If it makes you feel any better, I am an East Coast player that plays on Star Forge, and I get disconnects too. Yeah, but at least it would shut up those people constantly calling for server mergers. They probably had no idea about that. It's news to me as well. I had no idea that August 15th was a national holiday in France. But, I hope they change the date, it would be nice for people to be able to enjoy the holiday and use the time they have to play the game if they want. Ummm....umm.......I'd think suggestion box would be the obvious answer to that question. Which I see you already did. If they're ignoring it, putting it in a place that is totally inappropriate for it won't likely change anything. You might also consider including what about holsters they should fix.
  6. I hope I'm wrong too. I would love to see people who are in a circumstance such as you are have some sort of option to be able to play the game to the fullest.
  7. I really don't know much about this other than the little snipets I see here on the forums and I think it's safe to say that while you might not be sure, you probably have a better idea about it than I do. The part that confused me, as someone else pointed out, it doesn't seem to have any effect on TV, commercials, or cartoons, so it's a little hard for me to understand why than it should have an effect on the game. But, that is a position born of ignorance on my part.
  8. If the strike doesn't apply to video game writing, am I understanding it correctly that the strike should have no effect on the game than?
  9. I think this may be one of those unfortunate situations wherein it is unlikely they would be able to fairly accommodate everyone in a manner you are suggesting. As SteveTheCynic pointed out we have a situation wherein the legalities involved would somehow have to be interfaced with every nation on Earth and that doesn't seem very likely. You also have to consider it would come with a financial cost to the game. They would have to pay for all the medical consultation personal on their end who would have to be not only knowledgeable about the legalities involved, but would also have to have some sort of licensing of personnel with said medical knowledge and consultation costs to look into such claims that they receive for 'special consideration players', for lack of a better term. As you pointed out, the game isn't in the best situation financially as it is, and given that the game is played around the world, you would need not only personal with the above mentioned qualifications, but also with the ability to read and speak languages from around the world in order to conduct the necessary inquiries and to validate such requests. In a perfect world these sorts of things would be available to those in need such as yourself, and I am totally sympathetic to your circumstances, I have family members who suffer from mental disability. I just don't think this game has the facility or the resources available to it that would be necessary to facilitate your suggestion. Additionally, it would set a precedent that would really force all the other games to follow suit, which would than put such costs and personnel into a mandatory state of affairs because if one game does it than other games that didn't do it might get hit with lawsuits. You might consider reading all the Terms of Service to see if there is already any mentioning of people with special needs/medical circumstances within them to see if they have already addressed the topic in some fashion. I think there is also a part of this that also needs to be considered insofar as, and I think another poster already made mention of it, and that is that Operations are inherently group content by design. People have asked throughout the years for versions of Operations to be made that are soloable. Not for the reasons you are asking for, but, the idea has always met with some push back from certain elements of the player base. It would also take resources and, I would imagine, a significant time investment for them to rework the Operations because it isn't as simple as merely making the bosses do less damage and have less health, they are inherent game mechanics involved that require the presence of Tanks, DPS and Healers (and mechanics such as tank swapping), so there would need to be some significant reworking of all the fights and even things like puzzles that aren't possible to do just by one player alone at all.( EV and KP for example) I'm sorry you find yourself in the position you do, as someone who was big into Progression raiding for many years in this game I know how hard it can be to get into some groups and some of the elitism that you can find in the raiding community at times. It's unfortunate, but my commenting isn't in any way to shoot down your idea, it's more just about being realistic when considering all the things that would be necessary in order to carry out the suggestion. I just don't think the game is in a position to orchestrate such an undertaking unfortunately.
  10. Well that's true. As long as peeps didn't expect any inclusion in story than there wouldn't be any problem with it.
  11. Somebody's got to be working there even during the summer. I mean, do businesses really take the summer off? How would their employees pay the bills during the summer than? Or are they giving them a paid summer vacation? Even if they do take the summer off, I would think that someone under those circumstances would have at least had the forethought to say to themselves : "Well, we just took over this new management of this online game, the change is going to coincide with our time off for the summer, so let's prepare a statement before we leave for the summer that we could post for the players saying hello and welcome, let them know we are going to be on summer vacation so they shouldn't expect much from us during the summer and let them know we will be picking up things in earnest at the end of the summer." Not to do at least do that would be, at least IMO, terribly unprofessional, to say nothing of terribly rude to your new paying customers. I don't expect any changes to the game whatsoever for at least 6 months. Of course there is a transition phase, people have to learn the game, an overview of the coding and I'm sure several other facets of an online game that would need to be understood and assessed. I wouldn't hold that against them at all, that seems perfectly reasonable. But at least say hello. heh Absolutely. They can only work with what they are given, and ultimately it all goes back to EA. Broadsword, like Bioware was, is middle management. Well, at least that confirms for certain that the change has already occurred and Bioware is officially out of the picture. Thanks for sharing that piece of info. I share in your sentiments here. And even though I feel they should have at least made a public statement here on the forums of them officially taking over and at least a sort of welcome post, I am certainly willing to give them a chance to see what they can do with the game. My expectations for the game remain as they have been for a long time, small. I'm not in the "all hope is lost" category. That's certainly a possibility and a fair consideration.
  12. If I'm mistaken, and they are not in charge yet, than yeah, I totally agree, doing those things would be premature.
  13. It's a fair point. They can only work with what they're given and no one of them is in charge of everything.
  14. Fair enough. 👍 Everyone's entitled to their opinion. It's not looking good. My hopes for a change by Broadsword are starting to evaporate. Broadsword really should have said something at this point. I know it hasn't been long yet, and maybe I'm being a bit hasty, but if they have officially taken over, even if it's just been a week, they should have said something. Anything. It wouldn't even need to be a lot, or give a definitive statement on the direction of the game, or cited examples, just something. An opening statement, or introduction, or a welcome to post, that's something that should have already been prepared before they officially took over, knowing it was coming from the business side of things. The logo also should have been changed on the website.
