  1. Is everyone who's running Tactics/Advanced Prototype having this problem? As soon as I jump into group content I have to die or /stuck to be able to properly to generate Energy Lodes. The interesting thing is that Cell Burst stays proc'ed and the stacks don't disappear upon use, even though the buff doesn't persist. For me, it began happening after I started using the Powerlode tactical, but not sure there is a correlation. I realize that this has been mentioned but it's been nearly two months and it's extremely inconvenient for people who play VG/PT burst.
  2. Disclaimer: This post is both objective (based on many hours playing Starfigher over the past few months) and subjective (based on my own personal thoughts of the competitive nature of GSF and its pilots). GSF is a love/hate game mode. Some people love it, some hate it. Some, as we well know, try it once and never again set foot in a cockpit. Personally, I love the concept of space combat. From pen and paper Star Wars to Jump to Lightspeed, and everything in between (the opening scene from Revenge of the Sith <3), the allure of space battles is a draw for many. After nearly a year and a half away from the game, I returned a couple of months ago at the petitioning of a dear friend who I started playing SWToR with just before the launch of RotHC. One of the major draws was playing Starfigher once again. The changes in 5.5 were a huge plus as I loved flying Strikes and finally felt like they had been brought up to par with the rest of the ships. I feel GSF is better than it was, and the server mergers have increased the frequency of pops, which is great. What is not great, however, is continuously getting railroaded in heavily unbalanced matches. This has been affecting GSFers for some time, based on chatter I've seen in the in-game chat channel, and what I have seen perusing the forums. I'm writing this now after quitting an in-progress match for the first time ever. Whether it be ground or space PvP, I had never once bowed out of a match until tonight (still not proud of the fact). I knew before it started how it was going to go down. The opposing side had at least four notable aces, three Pubs and one Imp, if memory serves, in an 8v8. I knew it was going to be bad. Within the two minutes, it was approximately 20-1 as their Gunships easily sniped our pilots attempting to chase down their strikes. The first time I re-spawned they had already established camps at the center beacon, and I foolishly spawned into an instant missile lock and within the half second it took me to k turn out of there, I was space dust. In a random setting, it would have been amazing teamwork and strategy. In a match where one side had as many ace pilots as the other, it would have been a thing of beauty. This sadly was not the case. It was clear that our team was comprised of mostly new pilots and possibly a few of us who might go on to consider ourselves "decent", at best. I play GSF at random times throughout the day, and see this mostly in the late evening, generally just past 11 Eastern. Other times of the day seem to provide more balanced matches, though the occasional blowout is inevitable. Occasional is fine. It's something that every player has had to deal with at least a couple times, generally speaking. You live, you learn, you queue again. No big deal. However, this trend appears to be consistent enough to beg the question: Is there a way to balance the queues based on player rating or other statistics? Obviously there is no way (currently or possibly ever as it doesn't quite seem right) to stop the greats from grouping up (I saw a thread touching on this concept briefly), but it seems like something should be done to preserve the integrity of GSF, and to encourage less experienced pilots to keep queuing. As a competitive person, of course I like winning. Along with that, however, comes a sense of quality competition. I know I don't speak for everyone when I say that I prefer a competitive match as opposed to steamrolling lesser skilled players in any PvP game mode. Sadly this is probably not a shared thought process with many players. That's okay. We can't change how people view these things, but there should be a way to balance teams, at least to some degree, to keep GSF not only competitive, but also to maintain a numerous player base. Limiting one healer to pre-mades in ground PvP was a start for the planetary game mode, but we need a real solution to one of the issues that's plaguing GSF.
  3. I would like to second this. I've tanked reggie WZs for a little while with moderate success, but would like to step up to the big leagues soon and haven't found an up-to-date guide for PvP tanking. I know there were some recent changes (mostly to tank damage, if I'm not mistaken).
  4. Our guild <Ghosts Of Alderaan> is looking for new members. We RP and pve and I'm generally up past 10 est most days and a couple others are up late on the weekends. Let me know if you would like more info. Ps we're a Pub side guild.
  5. https://alderaanghosts.enjin.com/ A hail of blaster fire rained down upon the Republic troopers. They were pinned down. Little hope of survival remained among the dozen or so Republic soldiers as the Imperial Battalion moved closer. Their Lieutenant barked one final order. "If we're going to die here and now, we sure as hell are going to take as many of them with us as we can!" Though utterly hopeless, the command instilled what little life these men had left. Rushing from their holding position, they charged the enemy ranks. "Those men fought and died for a Republic that had forgotten about them. Or worse, ceased to care," Admiral Aygo explained to the Seventh Republic Court of Military Affairs. "They sent out a beacon more than a week before that. A week before Darth Malgus and his brigade swarmed Alderaan. What did we do to help them?" The Bothan had been called to testify, and he aimed to do just that. As he looked into the eyes of Judge Benas, a fellow Bothan, he saw little in terms of compassion. Less in terms of understanding, Aygo thought. He knew the judge's mind had been made before the hearing. Lieutenant Commander Wrex Ralen had been court martialed for his abandonment of of his post nearly a year after the Battle of Alderaan. A full 18 months after he watched as his platoon was slaughtered by Imperials, with no hope of Republic aid. It would be weeks before Jace Malcom and Republic reinforcements would arrive, and the story of the 234th had been a lost memory. Only, it hadn't been lost on Ralen. When the he had recovered, and reassigned to the Dihad Trading Post on Port Saleem, he had begun his preparations. Now, four years after going AWOL and three years after recruiting his own men for his own agenda, he faced court martial. "You're a maverick renegade, Ralen," the judge coldly reprimanded him. "You lost sight of your duty, and your honor, when you went AWOL. To make matters worse, you brainwashed elite soldiers who had been loyal to the Republic to join your cause. What happened on Alderaan was a tragedy, but two wrongs do not make a right, Lieutenant." Ralen sat, looking blankly at the Bothan judge. His cold, hard eyes left a lingering impression on his counterpart, but he knew that his fate was sealed. "My only hope in all this, your honor," he said, the title resting sardonically on his tongue, "is that the ghosts of Alderaan live on in the memories of those who once had forsaken them." The words rested heavily on the courtroom, but mostly perhaps on Sergeant Jak Ilo. As the sergeant listened to the guilty verdict, he knew that he would be the one to take up the mantle. He didn't know when, or how, but he knew it would be him. Twenty years later, during the invasion of the Eternal Empire, he would get the opportunity. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ The fragile Alliance that saw opposing factions come together against a common threat has began to crumble. It was only a matter of time. The Jedi order strives to rebuild as the Republic scrambles to pick up the pieces of the Zakuulan conflict before the Empire can take advantage of the chaos. However, many who once loyally served these factions now find themselves displaced by the war machine. Those who once called themselves Jedi find difficulty aligning with the ancient Order that preaches peace but ultimately serves as a fighting force. Republic troopers wander in disarray as the visible and tangible effects of war grip at their conscience. Many veterans find themselves lost, unsure of what to do next. Some turn to vigilantism while others sell there services to those who can afford it. Some, however, seek like minded individuals in hopes of forming something greater. The Ghosts of Alderaan is comprised of such individuals. The small fighting force consists of ex-Jedi and former Republic soldiers who have seen the terrors of war, and the propaganda that often fuels these conflicts. While loyal to the denizens of the Republic, they stand aside from official entities as an independent force, willing to go places the military, and the Jedi, are not. Able to act without senatorial approval, or without days or weeks or months of meditation, the Ghosts operate behind the scenes, offering aid where it is needed. Using their contacts and a network of satellite and informants, these men and women devote their efforts to fighting the injustices of the galaxy, desiring to bring hope to what has become a seemingly hopeless situation. They realize, however, that they cannot do this alone. Hoping to build on what was started over thirty years ago at the Battle of Alderaan, the Ghosts are actively seeking new members who share a desire to fight the good fight. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC intro The <Ghosts Of Alderaan> is a medium RP/PvE/PvP/GSF/Conquest guild (or at least that's the goal!) on the Ebon Hawk server in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG. Our guild is currently comprised of four founding members, all of which who have been playing the game since launch, or close to it. What we hope to offer is a diverse and dynamic community atmosphere where players can bring their talents both with story telling and in game mechanics together with the goal of offering a unique and exciting SWTOR experience to its members. What sets us aside from other guilds? Well, for one, we do everything. Literally everything. We strive to maintain a fluid, immersive, and unique roleplay story line that any of our members can participate in. One of our goals is to ensure that all members feel included and welcome to our guild. We've all been in guilds where we join, get a few 'welcomes' in guild chat, and then are seemingly forgotten. We want to be the opposite of that, and make an effort ensure inclusiveness. We do daily PvP and GSF, and are all knowledgeable in regards to Operations, Flashpoints, and class mechanics. We have recently acquired our guild flagship ad hope to compete in conquest as we grow in numbers. We also have a contingency of crafters that are available to all members of the Ghosts. Our requirements are few, and we don't ask a lot from our members in terms of forum posting or activity. We simply ask that members be civil and respectful to each other and the community as a whole. That being said, if you're seeking a laid back, friendly guild that doesn't have a slew of requirements and hoops to jump through we encourage you to check out our website or seek out our officers for more info. If you wish to send me an enjin mail, please feel free to do so and I will reply as soon as I can. Thank you in advance for your interest in the <Ghosts Of Alderaan>, we hope to see you soon! 6. may have skimmed over this but I'm having trouble turning in mk-3 armor to the tier 2 vendor. I have the tier 1 item and the required command tokens, but cannot upgrade the gear. Does it have to be a specific tier 1 item? Like one purchased from the tier 1 vendor or can it be any piece you get from CM packs/ops/etc?
  7. Yeah I saw that. caught in the crossfire again.
  8. Very true. Blizzard is at least keeping their players in the loop via social media, but Bioware hasn't said anything....At all.....It's just awful customer service. Strange how a business can just openly and blatantly ignore their customers and stay in business.
  9. Most of the servers are having issues. Since I came on at around 6 pm mst until now at 11:09 pm mst me and my guild and the majority of the Ebon Hawk have been DCing or totally kicked to the server selection screen. Sometimes we can log back in, sometimes we can't. We did notice that the population was higher than normal.
  10. We've been hacked! I honestly thought it was my computer....
  11. Hey Jung Ma, I'm looking to start a new toon and take on the challenge of open world PvP, and I'll be looking for a med-heavy RP guild that also does PvP/PvE on the side. Optimally I'd like to find something along the lines of a Pirate themed guild, either Pub or Imp side. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be greatly appreciative.
  12. Denizens of the galaxy...while you go about your lives, striving and suffering through endless war and oppression, the powers that be dictate your future...From your day to day lives to the inner workings of the galaxy, elitist governments make decisions, behind closed doors, that shape and mold the very fabrics of your existence, and that of your children, and their children. For too long we have remained voiceless, content to let the powers that be weave their political webs all in the interest of what is "best" for the galaxy. The Infinite Consortium is a collaboration of talented individuals from Imperial space that have seen the corruption of the Republic, of the Empire, of the Jedi, and of the Sith alike. Our goal is to give a voice to those who have none. Those that sit by helpless while we're plunged into war after war, conflict after conflict. The war we fight is one for the people, fought from the shadows on multiple fronts, to ensure accountability for those in power. Regardless of your outlook or station in life, if you're unsettled by the constancy of corrupt government and lack of progression, then we offer you a position within our ranks... Hello and thank you in advance for your interest in our young MF (multi-faceted ) guild, The Infinite Consortium. What we are is a collection of players in the Swtor universe on the Ebon-Hawk Imperial server. A young guild, to be sure, we currently boast 27 members, with about 5-7% of that being alts. We have a healthy mix of classes and a wide level range, with what I believe is 3 or 4 55s, with a couple more very close. We're a tight knit group, but are looking to add like-minded members to our ranks. What we do: PvE - We are currently mostly a PvE guild, running dailies and endgame flashpoints when we can, and running KDY and other content with our pre-50 population. We are most definitely interested in raiding, and have an alliance with an established raiding guild to help us in our pursuit of all that coveted gear. RP - While not really an RP guild, we do have several members that participate in roleplay, and as a long time table-topper and MMO RPer, I will be hosting events and a casual guild storyline for those interested. PvP - Hate pubs? no problem. We all like to get down and dirty and que up for Warzones, mainly on pre 55 toons as of right now. What we're looking for... We would love to start expanding our guild with like-minded people. What that entails is people who ARE Friendly, respectful, adult, active (semi-active works too), new to swtor, a swtor vet, level 1, level 55, anything in between. and AREN'T rude, annoying, sexist, immature, exceptionally young. SO, whether you are checking out the forums for the first time trying to find a guild for your first toon, or a SWTOR pro with all 180 gear and legacy level 100, and you are looking for a guild who offers a little bit of everything, we invite you to join our family. Please contact Zaarek or Shardan in game, reply to this post, or check out our brand new website at http://infiniteconsortium.enjin.com
  13. Hey Ebon-Hawk! I'm looking for some friendly players who are familiar with Operations and willing to show a newbie raider the ropes. The guild I am in is practically family, but we're a young guild and not many of us are geared for raiding. I'm happy to say that after months of grinding HM FPs and Tacticals, my main toon has most of his 168 gear, and most of it is augmented, so I feel he is raid ready, at least for Story Modes. The problem is finding enough people who are willing to take on someone who doesn't know any of the OPS, with the exception of TC (not much to that one), and briefly explain the fights as we go. I've done research on youtube, and have a basis for many of the raids, but many of the bosses/puzzles simply aren't covered (not that I could find). I have Mumble, Vent, and Raidcall, and am a quick study, so I wouldn't be holding things up too much. Ideally I'd like to complete the Oricon story by completing Dread Fortress, but really I'm up for learning as many of them as I can. If anyone would be willing to take on an OPs apprentice, I would greatly appreciate it. My main's name is D'rzza, a Juyo stance Sentinel, and I'm in the US, and am on mostly everyday depending on work, at various times of the day.
  14. Hello everyone. I am posting this on multiple sites in hopes of finding a few people interested in starting a mercenary RP/PvP guild. I am looking for mature adult players that have a good inkling towards RP, who have a helpful and overall pleasant disposition, to create this mercenary themed guild You can find me in-game (Zaurius), or let me know here.
