Being a Leader of a Medium to Large guild this would be Immensely helpful to ANY guild players have a hard enough to motivate themselves to join a website or a discord to find out what's going on in a guild most will just join a guild and think they don't do any events due to them not wanting to join places like discord and or a website which most guilds will have their Displayed schedule but by having an ingame Calendar and a system that will allow people to sign up or sign up as tentative for events this will allow Guild masters and their officers to see a better picture of who will be attending and it will allow the regular members to see that the guild they just joined does indeed do things Other games like World of Warcraft have an ingame Calendar I don't see this being a very hard thing to implement into the game Being a Guild Master Since the Launch of SWTOR i'd love to see this get implemented

Official Guild Policy for Member Development: Always among chief questions is recruitment. The truth is though, if you're maximizing the potential of those you've already recruited, you don't need to recruit (not that we don't intend to, or shouldn't). If you're maximizing your potential then your standards for new members rise, interest in your organization with it. It starts with leadership leading by example and cultivating a culture of respect. If a leader denigrates anyone in front of his or her subordinates, he or she is not maximizing the potential of their organization, they are instead showing their subordinates that disrespect is okay, even when not in the presence of the individual in question. You cannot fully develop a member without respect for that member. You don't need to focus on that member's current capabilities, but rather on their potential capabilities. Almost anyone can be an asset to the organization if managed properly. A short form of this concept is, "praise in public, punish in private." When you have that culture, and you see beyond current capabilities to potential, you have the opportunity for proactive member development. This involves training and motivation. To maximize your training, you need to motivate. Mandatory training, by the way, is never motivated training. Motivated training is 1000% more effective training. If people come to training because they want to they are developing into 1000% more of an asset to your organization. Let them determine their own goals, their own paths, and then provide guidance. In other words, shut up and listen. Do that, and you are encouraging self motivation. A self motivator is the best asset you can have and a future leader. Applying this to the game: all you can do is provide opportunity. You can lead the horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Develop events centered around member development, and also leader and development. Teachers learn to teach by teaching. members see you respect them enough to teach them. If you want to wait on people to take the initiative to train themselves and ask questions, then what you're really doing is actually just RE-active development, dependent entirely on a member's own experience they already had. It's garbage. No effective unit trains alone, and its up to the leaders to set up voluntary events for proactive development. Ill give you an example: if all the leaders reached out to other 50s who were not in their core circle and tried to run them through EV story mode, teaching us the mechanics along the way, do you think we would have more people on teamspeak? A stronger guild? Word of mouth reputation (by the way, it's the kind that leaves the biggest impression)? Opportunities exist in flashpoints, operations, and warzones too, or leading with alt chars as lowbies in flashpoints. It's all too easy to get complacent in a guild when you get a strong core team and just run with your friends. That's part of how guilds die. Someone leaves, then another, until you can't accomplish the mission anymore. Organization development means leader development, encouraging self-motivation, and that's what the Commonwealth is about. In support of our history (below), the System's Commonwealth's independence from Republic and Imperial forces, and its open arms to all people. The History of the Commonwealth: Visitors to the Capital city often ask, “How is it possible?” The Commonwealth has more diversity in its capital city than any whole system one can find in all the galaxy. Cantinas sympathetic to the Republic sit across the street from clubs sympathetic to the Empire, and when the drunks stumble out they seem more likely to trade shots of starship fuel than of violence. Force-sensitive academies teach the philosophies of both the Sith and the Jedi, experiencing the dark and light sides (as they’re known by other schools) is encouraged. Psychologically, and speaking broadly about the population data and ignoring many anomalies that do definitely exist, this diversity has promoted knowledge, knowledge has overcome our fears of others who are different from us, and our lack of fear has created the most open and accepting society in the galaxy. But that still does not answer the question of how it works. Yes, we are not afraid, and therefore we do not hate, but how does it work? Understanding how requires a basic grasp of our history. Originally the Commonwealth was a part of the Imperial invasion of the Republic. The flagship of 5th fleet, due to the incompetence of one navigator in what could be considered a series of unfortunate events. The flagship navicomputer, holonet relay, and hyperdrive, relied on by the whole fleet, didn’t so much malfunction as melt. The navigator had spent the majority of the journey attempting to, what he called, “min-max the navicomputer” to shave off every parsec he could, and accidentally deleted on all the data required for navigating through hyperspace, and hyperspace communication. The entire fleet was stuck in sub-light speed. Getting the fleet back into the fight would require repairs from an allied shipyard—a resource that was simply unavailable. They still had star maps and the technology, just couldn’t navigate them at hyperspeed (their ships or their communications). Unable to even call for help, the Commander of 5th Fleet determined there was only one course of action an officer in the Imperial Navy could take: they must first build the equipment that would be necessary to construct a shipyard, to train crewmembers in starshipwright, and to then build a shipyard. The task would take generations. The nearest habitable planet, capable of supporting the task, was already very inhabited. Its indigenous humanoids were fairly sophisticated, though not exactly members of the galactic community. In fact, in something akin to arrogance, their scientific minds thought they were probably alone in the galaxy, even though their best satellites were only even able to identify planets by gravitational effect on stars. They’d managed space flight, but their efforts were constantly impeded by infighting and social intolerance of each other—even within their respective societies and communities. Their first reaction to 5th Fleet was one of abject terror, military buildup, and oppression of their own nations. Countries rebelled, pulpits were bullied, wars broke out over what to do about the interlocutors. It took several years of simply orbiting the planet before they came to terms with the idea that 5th Fleet wasn’t interested in destroying them, enslaving them, or taking their people out of power. Meanwhile the fleet studied them, watched them harm each other, and tried to learn their language. The effect of those years is still felt today. The crew of 5th Fleet saw in that population a darker reflection of itself, and a clearer picture of their own invasion of the Republic. The only groups with which the fleet could negotiate were what turned out to possess the real power on the planet: the owners of the means of production. They were a particularly brutal and clandestine brand of cartel, constantly broadcasting their own benevolence while robbing blind all who didn’t own the means of production. In exchange for small technologies those cartels put puppets in authority to grant the fleet access to what it needed to build its shipyard, and began broadcasting messages of the benevolence of 5th fleet to facilitate it. By the end of the first generation, the fleet had taken shore leave to every corner of the planet, and the men and women brought what they had learned watching from above with them. In an interesting bit of biology, it was shortly discovered that the two distinct species of this planet and 5th fleet had compatible DNA. Petitions for marriage were met with harsh resistance, and the antimiscegnationists started more wars in some countries. Laws were passed banning forever the marriage of 5th fleet and the planet’s inhabitants. The production of mutual offspring, however, continued, and the cartels—in effort to obtain more technology and the hope of retaining stardwellers as permanent employees, began another information campaign. In the second generation the cartels hoarded their new technologies and consolidated, becoming global empires unto themselves. 5th Fleet, meanwhile, dealt with its own conundrum—most of those with 5thfleet blood were now citizens of the planet by birth, empowered by technology and education, bound to each other by their fathers. They also littered the globe. Loyalties became so divided that for a time it appeared 5thFleet itself would become torn apart by civil war. The Commander, aware of what was going to occur if he did nothing in advance of the mutiny gave three final orders at the outset of the third generation. First, he ordered any remaining crewmembers of the Fleet off his ships, save for the few volunteers he trusted. Second, he made access to all the technology at the Fleet’s disposal—including tens of thousands of years of galactic history and science—absolute and unencumberable, publishing it on the planet’s primitive version of the holonet. He then spoke to his native wife of his eternal love for her and their unborn child, and then gave the last order. He set a course with the entire fleet back to Dromund Kas; at sublight speed it would take seven million years. Thus, the Systems Commonwealth was born, and one little planet eventually (it took a dozen more generations) became the most diverse and accepting planet in the galaxy, wherein all people are treated equally its government, and every perspective and idea is valued without fear.
