  1. According to that, my server is almost literally middle of the pack. And it sucks HARD at this point. Group flashpoints are impossible sub 50 without waiting HOURS to get one going. PvP queue times are not that bad (30 min maybe), but seeing as all the PvP guilds rerolled rep, every match is a slaughter fest of super geared premades against under to moderate geared pubs. Honestly they SHOULD literally just remove half of the servers and consolidate. But they are in complete denial about the state of the player population. So it wont happen. Rerolling fatman. I want to play a Massively Multiplayer game, not a Minimally Multiplayer game. And my server as flat in the middle average, but the playerbase is already well into the "Minimally Multiplayer" stage. So what does that say about the other half of the servers below us?
  2. Disclaimer: Didnt read most of the posts here, but still figured would throw out my 2 cents. I personally hate expertise, it turns pvp into a game of who can grind the most, not who plays the best. You could be the most skilled player in the world and it wouldnt mean jack when some nub living in his parents basement walks up to you in a ton of expertise gear. No matter how good you are, you WILL DIE. PvP should be based on skill, not some random stat. I have still done it, because thats all we got (more than half WH at this point). But I dont like it. I hate having to grind just to get that one random stat up so I can be competitive and the game be balanced. I HATE starting a new toon to pvp because I know that no matter how good I am, I am gonna be getting my face splattered all over the pavement for a LONG LONG time, irregardless of how well I play my class. Throwing in a random stat that MASSIVELY affects all gameplay and is based on grinding, not skill, is not balanced. And frankly, if a PvE raider is a damn good player and more skilled than me, he SHOULD be able to stand a chance against me. But because of expertise, he doesnt. Ever.
  3. Well then you are part of a minority. Most people dont try and juggle playing a ton of games all at the same time. At most its usually like 2. Especially when one of them is a MMO. MMO's are time sinks, they are grinds. I am certainly not saying its not possible. But most people dont. Most people dont have the time to spend trying to get in solid playtime on lots of games on a weekly or daily basis.
  4. Yea well people can (and often do) play more than a single kind of genre. I personally know 3 people who are leaving ToR for D3. Will they come back after a while? I cant say. But they are definitely people unsubbing for other games, and other genre's. It doesnt have to be a MMO to pull people away from a game that they dont really enjoy playing anymore.
  5. After I finish my current char to 50 on my server for the storyline, I am rerolling to Fatman (got a few super low lvl toons there already). And honestly that is the only thing that is keeping me from just leaving ToR right now (plus I got a 6 month sub, ugh). If I didnt know there was atleast 1 well populated server I can go to once this toon is done, I would be gone. And yes I am sure there is a high pop PvE server as well somewhere, but I care about PvP. And I am sure there are a couple servers with decent populations. But I want this to feel like a Massively Multiplayer game. Not just a multiplayer game. I played on neverwinter nights servers that had a higher server pop that most of these "massively multiplayer" servers. And honestly I dont care about the character transfers, I have no interested in being in funneled into other dead servers of their choice for free, or pay 25$ per char transfer. At this point the legacy system isnt anywhere near compelling enough for me to worry about if I have one char on a server, or 8. So for me, Fatman IS the reason I have not quit yet.
  6. I made a few toons on it already (super low lvl though). But wont be transferring really most of my attention there till I move to the east coast in a few months. Which seemed as good an excuse as any to finally reroll. I just want to finish seeing the BH storyline before changing over, almost finished it with him. But yea, rerolling to fatman soon. I will miss all my 50's, but o well.
  7. Read this, skimmed the rest of the posts, and came right back. And so QFT But yea, 10-49 is for those who want to have fun against other players, 50 is for the competitive players who want to farm wins/commendations/expertise gear.
  8. Where did you read anything about even limited free server transfers? Every single thing I had seen so far has said its not an issue and doesnt need to be addressed. Except the most recent interview saying that all the servers have lots of people, its just they dont ever happen to play during any particular peak hours (lolz btw). But that being said I will go check again.
  9. You do know this thread is completely pointless? They will NEVER remove expertise from pvp. But regardless....... I would say get rid of it, its not needed. PvP should be based on skill, not how much free time I have to camp in my moms basement for weeks on end grinding. But as I said, this wont ever change. And thats why I will forever hold a very low opinion on ToR PvP.
  10. In general I have a ton more fun on my lvl 16 merc than I am on my WH geared operative healer or BM/WH sniper. But I am definitely one of those people who thinks expertise destroys any sense of accomplishment from pvp. You could completely outclass a guy in skill, but because some kid grinds for days in his parents basement and has a disgusting amount of expertise, he can kick my *** 8 times out of 10 simply because every attack he does is 20% more effectively and he takes a lot more hits to kill. And assuming equal skill lvl's, that guy with expertise will destroy the non expertise guy EVERY time. If you want ANY kind of true measure of ability or skill, you have to get rid of expertise. But that is never gonna happen, its a grind to keep you playing. It will NOT be removed. And I (obviously) grind the 50 bracket as well, because I MUST in order to grind out more expertise gear to be competitive. Doesnt mean that crap is fun though. You should be able to be competitive based on skill without the grind. Most of the time when I beat someone in the 50 brackets it doesnt feel like I outplayed him, it always feels like I just have better gear. Or there were more of us. Expertise was added as a barrier to PvP and PvE, and is used as a time sink/grind to keep you busy. So thats why I hate the 50 bracket, its not based on skill AT ALL. Its about how much you grinded a ton of time to WH. Of course there are gonna be people who have skill and have max expertise. But I dont want to have to show I can fight on their lvl without having to grind some arbitrary metric which has MASSIVE impacts on gameplay just to compete. I may find myself "out abilitied" on my lvl 16 on occasion, and I DEFINITELY die a lot more than any of my 50's. But when I go up against another lvl 16, 20, or whatever and kick their ***, I feel like I earned it because I know neither they nor I had some unfair advantage (expertise) over the other. What mattered was skill. And that is what I personally find much more fun. And expertise clouds over any arguments of skill in the 50 bracket.
  11. Its actually pretty standard to focus on getting the game to everyone before really working on what needs to be fixed. And its just a matter of priorities, they can only just hope the content that it came with is enough to hold people until they can focus on it again after making sure as many places have it as possible. Is that better than rolling out consistent patches/content/server issues? BW obviously thinks so. It also goes back to the fact of people just wanting what they dont have. People who dont have the game in their area, want the game. People who have the game but no good servers, want good servers. People who want to play an unbugged game on good (if FAR TOO MANY) servers, then they want solid patches coming out more than once every couple weeks.
  12. I am on a server that also has a Fleet pop of ~100. But dont let that number fool you, its impossible to find anyone to do quests unless its a HM, and even those sometimes takes hours to get going. Maybe 2/3 of the pop is lvl 50 at any given time, and more than half of those guys just pvp. And each planet has maybe 10 people. So even though fleet has 100, most of the planets are completely dead and you will almost never see another person. The vast majority of the server just sits around on fleet most of the time. The end result, even 100 ppl on fleet feels kind of dead, and nothing like an mmo. The Rakghoul event did bring some people out of their corners, but this is also a temporary event. So they are likely to just go right back.
  13. Yea I was stoked to see what the weekly gave and then was super disappointed. Didnt they say something like it was gonna be like 1k WZ commendations or something? This just a placeholder change until ranked warzones are out?
  14. Marauder/sent hands down. By far the best pvp class because of 1.2
  15. 250 in the fleet in the SECOND instances. First instance is completely full (which I didnt even realize was possible until fatman).
