  1. Thank you, had been having the crashing issue myself. Win7 compatibility fixed it.
  2. Messing around lately with a couple new characters, I've been seriously thinking that I'm actually getting bored a bit with all the overleveling you do. I played a fair bit during the Beta and early release and remember clearly leaving the starter world at lvl 10, 11 if you were thorough, then getting the quest on the fleet station to pick your advanced class. Now you leave the starter world around lvl 20 or even higher if you start doing early flashpoints, get to pick your advanced class as soon as you hit 10 (which renders the fleet quest irrelevant unless you want some quick xp) and renders the challenge of a lot of story content moot. Planetary level recommendations for example are no longer "You should be at least lvl 20 for Nar Shadaa" are now "this is what you'll be level locked at for the duration of your visit." So yea, I think a low-xp server would be a fun change of pace. For one thing, Heroics would be something you'd have to team up for instead of just being slightly more challenging single player missions you plow through. It would give players more of a chance to learn their class abilities and mechanics. And it would give all the exploration missions a lot more importance in leveling (don't get me started on WHY they locked all that side content behind a button click, it took me a YEAR to notice that button and try clicking it and suddenly so much more mission content rantrantrant) I can appreciate that folks want to get to the high levels quickly, and it can be a lot of fun to do so, all I'm saying is it can also be fun to just take your time playing through the game.
  3. A few months ago it was that gamereasy showing up all the damn time, lately however there's two other groups that have popped up, and their chat spam is getting rampantly out of control. Nine times out of ten the first thing I see when zoning into either pub or imp fleets is a spam message. Then two others pop up within seconds, one of which is large enough to block out everything else in the chat window. I report and ignore them, but five minutes later new batches pop up again spamming the chat window. I report and ignore those and it's only a few minutes respite before ANOTHER batch starts popping up. There needs to be a better way of dealing with this before it gets worse.
  4. The first ops I ever did with my guild was Ravagers, we got all the way to B&M and were stopped cold, giving up after several attempts. Months later I tried it again today. Again, got all the way up to B&M and again were stopped cold. Nine tries, we went nine rounds with that brick wall of a boss. After the fourth attempt one of our tanks quit. One of the ops group got a friend who had done the boss before, and she offered some good tips. Round six ended in another wipe, but in round seven we ALMOST had him. Master went down, Blaster was on his last legs. Suddenly the ground was a sea of yellow targeting sights and six team members went down. The remaining two didn't last long after. We tried two more times but didn't even get close to what we did before and we all quit. I'm still torqued off about it. The first three bosses were challenging, but they at least were FUN. Things got hectic, but we were able to adapt and pull through. But with B&M, no amount of adapting, planning, or teamwork made any difference, we were just plain overpowered every time. And this was just Story Mode, I can't imagine how quickly wipes occur on HM. There needs to be some kind of rebalancing here. You can't have three decently challenging bosses and then an unbeatable steamroller of a boss. And I had two quests for it, the ops mission and the one you get on Rishi, I had a lot of rewards on the line. Crystals, creds, rep tokens and a mount. Tone down their damage output, relegate some attacks to HM, reduce their defences a bit; I don't know. I'm not doing Ravagers again anytime soon, I can tell you that.
  5. Earlier today, was running the game no problems. Quit for an hour for dinner, when I tried logging back on, it was stuck on "initializing" and ending with an error message about "unexpected failures". I tired the solution I found of deleting bitraider and disabling it in the launcher preferences and now the launcher is redownloading the entire game. With my internet speed, it'll be finished sometime tomorrow. So, how often does this happen for other people?
  6. OTHER PLAYERS. 95% of all flashpoints I get into fail because some player suddenly decides he doesn't want to run this, or starts whining about hard hard it is and quits, or declares the group will never succeed because everyone else is doing it wrong and leaves. A lot of time we don't realize he's quitting until his icon disappears. Then of course someone else goes "Oh no, that guy left! I'd better leave too!" And then the group falls apart and everyone has wasted their time. Yesterday after a 30-minute wait I finally got into a Battle of Rishi flashpoint. Just after the first fight, not the first BOSS FIGHT, but the first fight in general, our healer asked another player "This your first time running this?" Other player responds yes and BAM, healer quits. We reque, after about 10 minutes the tank quits literally five seconds before a new healer pops in. THEN of course another player quits because the tank just quits and there it goes. TODAY I get into a flashpoint I've never been in before, we get two fights in and one player quits without a word. We reque, but no that's not good enough and another quits. I get sick of it, I really do. I want to do these for the challenge, the loot, and experiencing more of the game. I am willing to accept defeat and leave if it's clear that the group can't beat a certain point, I've faced numerous brick wall bosses and either we finally beat them or we accept defeat and leave. BUT AT LEAST WE TRIED. But queing for a flashpoint, waiting however long it takes for a group to be found, and having everything fall apart because some overly-entitled infant can't be bothered to put in the effort and leaves the party hanging is a far, far too common occurrence. I am seriously considering starting to report players who pull that garbage, I'm sick of them ruining things for everyone else.
  7. So today I thought it would be fun to try my first star fortress, began running the solo star fortress flashpoint. Got to the Ephemeris boss, say it for a brief second before the shutters closed and reinforcements began arriving from the two side elevators. Took them out, and nothing happened. My character is running around an empty room. No boss, No enemies. Nothing to click on save the two healing stations. The game says I am in combat, so I cannot log, leave, insta-travel, or abandon or reset the mission. I had to hard-quit the game just to get out, but when restarting the game, it says my character is still logged in, so I cannot even play another character. I put in a ticket, anything else I can try?:mad::mad:
  8. I've read several guides for tanking, but still have a couple questions that those guides never really touched on. 1. If you're using an adaptive armor set, such as the Mandalorian seeker, should you focus on warding mods, a mix of warding and lethal, or does it really matter? 2. If you want to play a tanking role, do you have to focus on the Tanking skill spec, or can any skill spec such as Pyrotech under the Powertech class play a tanking role as long as you have the appropriate powercell or tanking ability active? 3. This likely ties into question 1, but are there any stat targets you should aim for? Like how accuracy should be about 110% for maximum effectiveness, should defense or shield be around a specific number for tanking?
  9. I have basically the same compaints as the OP. Look, I've been in several tacticals so far, and most of them have been successful, a couple pretty impressive considering the idiocy the group finder can come up with. A lot of them have been because the group communicated well, or because one person knew a lot of good strategies for avoiding some fights and allowing the group to conserve their strength for the harder fights. But I do agree with the OP that being able to set some filters would be nice. Going through a flashpoint and having nothing but DPS every time get's annoying.
