  1. I'm looking for what kind of stats I should go for as a Sorcerer healer. My main concern is Critical, Surge, and Alacrity. Crit: What's a good critical rating? Right now I'm around 30%, but I hear 25% is a decent rating. Surge: The amount of increase from a Crit, what should I go for? Alacrity: What percentage of Alacrity should I go for? I hear about there being some sort of curve for Crit and Surge and after a certain amount stats should go toward Alacrity. So what kind of distribution should I go for?
  2. I have to say, this is the first MMO I have played where it is not a total pain the butt to find a group for a raid (Operations in this game). Yesterday I played one Op with my guild, and this afternoon I did one with a group advertizing on general chat. Neither time did we fall apart from people quitting, everything went relatively smoothly. Overall, not just with Ops but with Flashpoints as well, SWTOR has a very smooth transition to end-game content, and you don't feel cheated even if you end a run without getting any loot. So again, Kudos to Bioware for making such a great endgame!
  3. As far as loot rules go, here is how my guild does it: You can only roll Need if it is an upgrade for your CURRENT character AND you have not won a piece of gear yet. This applies to head/chest/etc. Implants and earpieces don't count, you can Need those all you want. You can only Need a second piece of loot that falls under the previous rule if no one else needs it for their current character, and you must ask first. For the last boss's loot (I suppose this is usually the best), the raid leader controls the loot distribution, and each person interested in a piece of loot manually /rolls for it, and the raid leader checks to make sure it's a valid choice.
  4. Not to digress from the topic, but you're liable to break your firearm if you go swinging it around like a baseball bat. A properly executed buttstroke/bayonet thrust turns you firearm into an equally efficient club/spear.
  5. This. Especially since, unlike WoW, we actually do go 'pew pew'. I only use UWT for the mats I need, and to get it leveled. It takes too darn long to get a reasonable amount of mats to sell, It's faster and easier to grind.
  6. The main purpose of mission skills are to get materials you can't find in the field, finding rare schematics, and affecting your light/dark side standing. You only want a mission skill if one or more of these are your priority. For example, if you have cybertech, you're going to want to use Underworld Trading to get the Underworld Metals necessary for advanced schematics.
  7. Yeah, I noticed some missions getting new bonus objectives too. Don't know what it's about yet though.
  8. This is just a necessary evil of any space travel mmo that has you visiting different planets. Each individual planet in SWTOR is at least the size of, if not larger than, a zone in WoW. But because you have to take you ship and fly to each planet instead of the seamless gameplay you see in WoW, it seems smaller than it actually is. There's really no better way to go about it.
  9. "Companies only care about money." Duh. What the hell do you think is the reason these people made this game? To make their hearts warm and fuzzy knowing that you are enjoying yourself? No, of-freakin-course they care about money. And no, that's not a bad thing, people wanting to make money is what makes all the good things we see today. And if you wanna cancel your sub and go crying to mommy because you don't get your way, then fine. Slicing is just one thing in this game, and I'd literally murder to find a game of this magnitude that had absolutely nothing that absolutely no one had anything to complain about. More server space for me, I guess.
  10. ^^ This. Star Wars is not about individuals doing their own thing, it's about armies and navies (space navies, of course) participating in massive battles. Ep. 1 had the Battle of Naboo. Ep. 2 had the Battle of Geonosis. Ep. 3 had the Republic vs the Trade Federation. Ep. 4, the Battle of Yavin . Ep. 5, the Battle of Hoth. Ep. 6, the Battle of Endor. Star Wars is about epic, large-scale battles where squadrons of fighters and bombers make precise, calculated maneuvers, not just a bunch of random dogfighting.
  11. I got it on my playthrough on Ord Mantell, don't remember the specifics though. It's probably an optional.
  12. So far from what I can tell it only happens automatically on ship when you talk to a crew member who you could potentially be bumping uglies with, and that's probably because it's awfully hard to kiss through a helmet.
  13. Same here. I can't help but feel that every Trooper player just blazed through that security system instead of going through the paths. We aren't known for our big brains, after all.
  14. They're especially sexy when they lose all their teeth.
  15. I never thought I'd see SWTOR compared to STO. Admittedly I have a lifetime subscription to STO, and it's my guilty pleasure when the SWTOR servers are down.
